Don't dream it - I'm an ex mh nurse too. I find being a SAHM much more demanding!

I'm toying with the idea of doing DIY which I NEVER EVER do, rather than wait for the next 10 years for DH to get round to it. It's a simple (!) question of grouting bathroom tiles. How hard can it be? Yeah, I'm going to go for it.

DontDreamItBeIt · 10/01/2008 20:35

Yes. You don't get to go home and rest after a stressful day, nor do you get a day off. Or at least I don't as a sahm.

I tried going back part time when dd2 was small, but it was a disaster and I've let my registration lapse now.

I'm officially unemployable

Clean the grout off the tiles before it dries, or you will never get it off! (Speaking as one who learnt that the hard way.

I find if I try and make a bad enough job of things, dp will finish them properly.
Of course as I'm a bit of a perfectionist, I have developed a talent for hanging curtain rails, fitting door locks, and numerous other jobs dp says he will do and doesn't

We are still locking our back door with a screw, following dp losing the key and having to cut through the lock before Christmas.

Evening all

I had a knackering brain drain depressing as hell day at work today so I haven't done much

done

washing up
sorted some of the tupperware as per kelly's mission earlier in the week
sorted out some baby feeding bits and bobs to put away as it seems we won't be having baby number two as soon as we thought
folded washing and put my clothes away
had shower and washed hair, no drying today can't be bothered!!
s&s loo
thought about next weeks meal plan

to do
give kitchen a quick clean
copy down those recipes that i didn't do last night
have several very stiff drinks

tortoise · 10/01/2008 20:58

Evening all.
I am really cold tonight and feeling a bit bleurgh! No idea why! Might just go to bed in a bit.

Bianca Mine all have to get changed after school. Otherwise they would cover their school stuff in food etc!

gibberish I hope you can get some help from trading standards. Sounds like you have been treated very badly. at putting other customers off!

jas I keep forgetting to say thanks for clothes.

DontDreamItBeIt · 10/01/2008 21:10

Glad you got them tortoise - I hope they are ok.
DS is wearing the red/blue fleece sleepsuit I go off you onight. It is getting too small for him, but I love him in a sleepsuit, so I'm hunting for bigger ones. He doesn't keep a cover in bed, so I thiink he needs it still.

Bianca - mine almost never get changed afer school. They rarely keep stuff clean enough to wear two days running anyway soI can' see the point of letting hem mess up more clothes for a couple of hours in the evening

Bewilderbeast - I'm going to copy your to do list, minus the recipe bit

gigglewitch · 10/01/2008 21:12

ooohhh what a day. Gibberish - will catch up elsewhere asap for a natter

my house is beautiful...i had a visit from the local house-fairy and she cleaned all the bits i can never get to She doesn't come often but oh i love it when she does.
Have had a hideously busy week at work so as much fly-ing as poss done (yes shiny sink, hit hotspots etc) but never at the same time or in a particularly sensible fashion. ahh well, three days off can bring order back into my head

tortoise · 10/01/2008 21:21

I will probably have some sleepsuits, that DD's have outgrown, soon. i found a lovely baby gro for DD2 in the charity shop recently! And 2 noddy fleece suits too. One had to have the feet cut off because of holes in them but they lady in the shop just gave it to me because of the holes.
Will let you know when the girls grow out of them and if any are suitable for a boy.(Unless pink is ok for your ds in bed lol!)

gibberish · 10/01/2008 21:41

dontdreamit thank's so much for your reassurance. Really, really helps. Re the manufacturer, yes am going to ring Russell Hobbs tomorrow. Feel it is a shame to bother them really. I know it is their product but they didn't actually sell me a faulty product...

gigglewitch yeah! Have missed your intellectual banter

tort will check scrabble tomorrow

Oh to top off my lovely day - had to take the guinea pigs to the vet. The big one has mites and is sore all over her back AAAAARGGGHHHH! This day really needs to end. Oh and now dd3 is throwing a wobbly because she wants cocoa, I'm on here and dd1 is refusing to help her make it Better go sort it all out.

Moan moan moan moan. That's all I've done today. Sorry. Will be in a MUCH better mood tomorrow.

tortoise · 10/01/2008 22:28

Have just spent the last half hour trying to connect mobile to pc! Finally sorted it and have added some music to my phone.
Will add some more tomorrow! Getting late now and i was planning to go to bed early!!

See you tomorrow.

Bewilderbeast · 10/01/2008 22:32

have jsut booked a week away in june for my birthday (via mumsnet of course) I can't wait it will be the first time that dh and I have been away together for longer than a couple of days and the first time we will ever have been away with ds. I am sooooo excited

Grouchyoscar · 10/01/2008 22:35

Hello everyone

Thought I'd pop by. I know it's late but I've been out all day.

I did my morning routines then moved onto my 'Thursday routine' I went to the PTA meeting then to the market in the next town to talk meat with the butcher, well the husbandry of his meats. Thankfully I think Hugh FW would be comfy with it. Got chickens, pork, lamb and oxtail. Then home, do Reading Friends (we have Year 6 this term) Pick up Ed, home, play Wii sports then off to chair a meeting for the council about community funding. Home, bedtime routine inc making Ed's lunch.

I'm rather tired now. Night all

Grouchyoscar · 10/01/2008 22:40

Hey BWB we are 'local'! I live in Batley.

Small world but I don't want to paint it!

grannyslippers · 11/01/2008 00:04

gibberish · 11/01/2008 00:06
