All right, I know what time it is already! I was asleep at 9 last night OK?

Seemed like a good idea to start todays thread

So we need Kelly's Mission (Which reminds me my porch is falling down and we need a replacement )

And Kelly's rather useful babysteps day 4 (And as always I'm running before I can walk )

Might get some sleep, see you all later

Have a safe journey Bianca
Can you take some music or a book? (I can't actually read in the car...but it might help take your mind off the travelling)

I have put all the ironing away, stoked the fire, cleaned the kitchen, played scrabble, and now I should really think about supper...I'm not going shopping again now until Monday, so i can't start to cook wonderful healthier things yet. Its going to have to be Pasta Bolognese I think.

yaddayah · 04/01/2008 16:27

Greetings !
Sorry not been on today, house is pretty much ok
Lamb in red wine in the slow cooker

Kids are playing nicely

Be back monday have a good weekend all

pukkapatch · 04/01/2008 16:33

is it cheating to get your cleaner to do stuff?
but i have noticed that since i have been ensuring my kitchen sink is shining, ok, i know its only four dsays but still, ive noticed that the house is actually generally cleaner. and not just for the five minutes after the cleaner has been.
i'm not sure about the writing notes down bit. the babysteps four.

DontDreamItBeIt · 04/01/2008 16:44

If you are lucky enough to have a cleaner, then of course you get her doing it! (Maybe don't ask her to get yo dressed in the morning though)
Writing stuff down is the start of your control journal. Great for those with cleaners/au pairs/helpful dhs as they ca see easily what o do and when.
I don't have one, but don't have the cleaner etc either so a list on the kitchen wall works for me.

I can't read in the car either, but get bored rather than stressed by it all.

I hope everyone who is away for the weekend has a good one, and the mini meet up goes well.

Grouchyoscar · 04/01/2008 16:47

Right, I've stopped for the day...well I've had to, I've overdone it again

but I've DONE

Made lunch
tidied away
Made the bed (Again, thanks Ed {not})
Tidied the Kitchen hotspot
Swept the kitchen floor
Tidied, swept and mopped the porch (Took 15 mins for each)
Emptied WM
Take upstairs and hang to dry
Empty TD
Put drying washing in TD and run
Made a drink and snack.

DH home in 20 so I'll say Night All X

I can't read in the car. I am very tired though so am taking a pillow in the hope that I'll doze off for some of the journney at least. We used to have adult books on tape to listen to but the new car has a cd player so we've lost that option. I'll dig out some music cds to take along anyway.
We're heading off in about an hour and a half.

I'm looking forward to the meet-up

DontDreamItBeIt · 04/01/2008 17:07

Go to the library and get some story cds if you can before you go. Ours is quite a small one but has a fair selection.

BiancaCastafiore · 04/01/2008 17:10

Blast - good idea, library closed at 5

We're just charging the laptop with a view to possibly loading a couple of games on it to play while we're driving....not sure it'll work though, may make me v travel sick lol!

I'm sure I'll survive, i'VE DONE IT BEFORE. (opps, caps lock)

glitterfairy · 04/01/2008 17:13

Hello.
We went to the cinema as planned today and watched Bee movie. It was quite good.
After that we just wandered around a few shops with pretty much no money to spend! lol!
Then just before starting back to the station we popped into a charity shop where i spotted a nice hifi for £5!
Shop assistant warned me it was heavy!! Did i listen? NO! Now i have 2 very sore arms where no only was it heavy, the box also dug into my arms! DC were very good with helping carry bits and walked well with each other while i struggled along! That will teach me to buy something big! lol!

But it is great! And i have wanted a bigger hifi for ages and £5 was a bargain!

Bianca Have a good journey. Hope you manage to get some sleep and avoid being ill.
Luda Will find menu planner thingy!

To whoever askes(I forgot!)Bianca is right, Birthday is April 6th! Big 30 this year! lol!

tortoise · 04/01/2008 18:03

Meal planner sent. I don't think i ever did get round to even looking at them when i got the email sent to me.
Need to try and menu plan myself so must read them later!
BTW Toad in the hole here is always toads in cheesy holes! Add grated cheese to the batter mix before pouring onto the sausages. Yummy! (OK Not very healthy!)

beautifuldays · 04/01/2008 18:07

wow what a bargain tortoise! i love it when you find great stuff in charity shops, i remember finding an entire crate full of happyland stuff for £4 once, made my (and ds's) day!!

not done much flying today, i am falling behind already

ds had his measles booster today and it was a 2 hr round trip, so i'm knackered and i'm off out tonight for drinks with two girlfriends, a rare occurence so i am going to make the most of it (but will remember to shine my sink when i get home - honest!)

FunkyGlassSlipper · 04/01/2008 18:55

Tort - I've sent 2 menu planners to you. Melloma's original one and then one I created last time I started thinking about meal planning.

email address will give away my old nickname so please dont out my name change. Thanks

tortoise · 04/01/2008 19:20

Thanks FGS. Had mellowma ones already, just need to have a read of them! lol.

AnnaKeyrules · 04/01/2008 19:45

not doing too well today, but have sorted out lots of washing.
I need to tidy the kitchen then do some work this evening. I'm hoping when dd goes back to school next week things will be easier, as I'm entertaining dd and whenever I leave the living room to tidy or clean anywhere else I return to chaos

TheMadHouse · 04/01/2008 20:19

Evening all

Managed to get the outside christmas lights down in between the showers and have all of it boxed up now, just need to get it to the loft. I also managed to sort DS2 wardrobe etc, so now have a bag of too small boys clothes to 18 months - loads of gap stuff too.

we had KFC Boneless for tea - dont tell anyone - it was yummy and the boys are now in bed and I am going to spend a quality night with DH

FunkyGlassSlipper · 04/01/2008 20:44

tortoise · 04/01/2008 21:11

DontDreamItBeIt · 04/01/2008 21:35

tortoise · 04/01/2008 21:39

DontDreamItBeIt · 04/01/2008 21:44
