Talk to me about washing machines and washer dryers

I have a busted Bosch - it's six years old.

I came home after a night shift, to find it making the worst clanking and rattling noises, after it worked without complaint for 6 years.

The drum is turning at a hit and miss rate and various clips and fastenings have shown up in the filter.

I need a new machine.

Currently have a washer-dryer, the dryer was only for towels and bedding.

Can anyone recommend a make, a machine or a type?

Added bonus:- it's in an awkward cubby at the end of a narrow galley kitchen, the aisle of which is only a couple of inches wider than the machine.

It's going to be a logistical nightmare getting the old one out and the new one in.

I've recently got a new Samsung Eco bubble washing machine and it brings me great joy - especially the happy little tune when it's finished a cycle
DH work clothes have never looked cleaner which shows how crap the old washer was (also a Bosch)

Hotpoint any good, compared to Bosch?

I have Bosch Series 6. Washer/Dryer, it is excellent, washes well and dries really well. Previously had hotpoint, which was ok, but the Bosch is better, should be too cost just short of £1000.

I've got Miele and touch wood still going strong 8 years in!

Got onto a discount website and tried to buy a Bosch washing machine, but the payment didn't go through.

I'll try again tomorrow.

OK. I've ordered an A Rated Hoover with a 1600 spin cycle.

It's arriving on Saturday.

I've got £16 for the launderette until then.
