Mine has to be cleaning out the dishwasher filter - soo gross, its like cleaning up vomit without the smell.

emptying the compost bucket from the kitchen to the garden. bleurgh

sweetcat · 24/11/2007 08:16

Not strictly household but cleaning the fish out is my worst. The fish DD swore she would cherish forever, and she would look after! Makes me gag every time

neverfree · 24/11/2007 08:18

oh yes, pets. The ones the kids want that end up yours. Cat sick anyone?

BettySpaghetti · 24/11/2007 08:21

Cleaning cat sick off soft furnishings

sweetcat · 24/11/2007 08:22

Don't get me started on cat mess. DH was tidying some plant pots in the garden and found a pile of cat sick. He has a weak stomach and ended up being sick himself so I had two piles to clean up!

Charlee · 24/11/2007 08:23

Cat pee is the worst, it stinks and the smell stays FOREVER!

Slouchy · 24/11/2007 08:27

Yes to cat sick. At least dogs clear it up themselves

Also cleaning the oven - I am a slattern and it is always bryondd repulsive whenever I finally gird up my loins to do it. If only I could get into the habit of doing it a couple of times a year (SIGH)

Slouchy · 24/11/2007 08:28

Hmm - inadvertant welsh there! I meant BEYOND repulsive.

KaySamuels · 24/11/2007 08:35

I have two - and it is always me that does them!
Picking hair out of bath plug hole, cleaning our toilet which is frequented by kids m-f and our slightly intoxicated friends over the weekend.

Sweetcat my DP has a weak stomach too - has made himself sick changing ds's nappies, and cleaning up sick, even brushing his teeth! It drives me mad!

laura032004 · 24/11/2007 08:36

hayCHingleBells - do you wipe all your plates before you put them in the dishwasher? I only empty my filter about once a fortnight, and there's hardly anything there then.

No pets at the moment. So my current worst job is cleaning up after another childs sick. Can cope with anything which comes out of my children, but if they're not related to me, then it turns my stomach! Strange isn't it!

hayCHingleBells · 24/11/2007 08:42

I do rinse plates etc before putting in dishwasher, but dp and dc do not!

My filter is often blocked entirely!

Oh, and the little plug hole thing in the back of the fridge gets blocked up too, thats grim, its like bogey substance..ugh

Hair from plughole, anything with the bin, food from plug hole and cleaning behind the toilet, all of which I make DH do as I actually throw up if I do them for some reason.

tartanandtired · 24/11/2007 09:11

Definitely cleaning the hair out of the plughole. DH sometimes does it, sometimes makes me as the hair is usually mine.

Even typing this is giving me the boke.

pukkapatch · 24/11/2007 09:26

anything to do with gardening, and slugs, and worms, and black stuff.

OP posts:
Roskva · 24/11/2007 09:33

eeewwww

cleaning the washing machine filter

pukkapatch · 24/11/2007 22:21

black stuff is soild, and dirt and mud, and compost.

NineUnlikelyTales · 24/11/2007 22:26

Cleaning up after the cat in her many attempts to ruin the soft upholstery of our humble home.

Emptying the kitchen compost bin into the actual compost bin. In fact anything to do with the compost bin - why did I buy one of these? I still can't believe compost is actually made in it.

Tommy · 24/11/2007 22:27

compost to the bin definitely - hate it when all the flies come out - yeuch (I always seem to have to do it as well )

Madoldcatlady · 24/11/2007 22:28

Without a doubt, the time the cat puked up a tape worm on the carpet and it was like an undulating (alive!)4 inch long piece of tagliatelle on the floor. I was the only adult in the house, DD was 2 years old so it was down to me to deal with it.

jezzemx · 24/11/2007 22:28

Plain old boring Ironing
Can't stand it and I don't do the full weeks of ironing in one night thing(like my mam does)
I iron every day but just what we need and fold or hang everything else !!!
It's a pain in the arse when we are running late but I can't motivate myself to stand for hours on end getting hot, bothered and tired.

jezzemx · 24/11/2007 22:30

Seriously It really does turn my stomach uurrgghhh

sweetkitty · 24/11/2007 22:30

the dishwasher has a filter that needs cleaned????

Done cat poo and sick so many times it doesn't bother me.

Have slug/maggot type phobia so gardening hard for me too, ran away screaming this summer as left DDs bouncy castle out for a few days on the grass, moved it and there were things sticking to it underneath

Anna8888 · 26/11/2007 13:17

Scrubbing the pigeon shit off the window sills in the courtyard.
