Mine has to be cleaning out the dishwasher filter - soo gross, its like cleaning up vomit without the smell.

Anna8888 · 26/11/2007 13:18

For you dishwasher filter people - use a dishwashing cleaning product before cleaning the filter - the product gets rid of most of the yuck first.

kittylouise · 26/11/2007 13:22

Cleaning up bin debris caused by foxes ransacking the bin bag overnight, because DP didn't fancy walking 6 feet to put the bag in the wheely bin and just left the bag outside the kitchen door .

chinwag · 26/11/2007 14:00

Modoldcatlady...that has to be the winner!!!!

Seriously gross.

'Poopa Scooping' the litter tray is bad enough IMO.

MorocconOil · 26/11/2007 14:08

Cleaning out the cup the toothbrushes stand in

Cleaning out the cat litter tray. So gross, can't wait until the kittens are old enough to be outside all day

Wiping away the marks left by mice after they had jumped over the kickboard in the kitchen. Obviously it was part of their 'run'. Eeeeeuw!

geekymummy · 28/11/2007 13:20

defo scrubbing the loo. Yeuch!

mumof2teenboys · 02/12/2007 12:49

emptying the veg waste into the composter, have to bribe son to do it.

defrosting the freezer, vaucuming the stairs, cleaning the oven.

Honestly, my house is clean!!

gibberish · 02/12/2007 12:52

Definitely picking the hair out of the bath plughole. With 5 females in our family it's permanently blocked. Comes out in a long, slimy, scummy, straggly lump and makes me heave.

coldtits · 02/12/2007 12:53

The wheelie bin and the grill tray.

needmorecoffee · 02/12/2007 17:57

You clean the wheelie bin? Didn't know that had to be done. Isn't everything in black plastic bags?
As for the grill tray....I'll move house one day

LyraSilvertongue · 02/12/2007 18:03

Vacuuming
Ironing
Putting the clean clothes away. Once they're clean and dry I just can't be bothered.

Hekate · 02/12/2007 18:06

Unblocking the toilet. This is something that I have to do several times a week. ds1 does what he calls his 'monster poo' (which he makes us come and admire) then he uses an entire roll of loo paper and flushes. My loo blocks and I have to don the marigolds and fish it all out into a bag.

I try to convince him to let me help him, by wiping him, but he gets so distressed I actually prefer to just let him get on with it and go in and scoop it all out afterwards.

How's that for a contender?!

Pannacotta · 02/12/2007 18:08

Cleaning oven (v rare that it gets done!), clearing up cat puke/pee, cleaning shower plug and finally cleaning the loo - all very unoriginal but all very yuck!

BitTiredNow · 02/12/2007 18:23

I get a really bizarre kick out of doing the yuck stuff, but I really hate putting clothes away after ironing - can't stand it, they sit in baskets for weeks on end. Much much worse as Dh is away for 7 months, and I have no one to nag me to do it. The second one is children's tea - it bores the pants off me, the fighting, arguing, throwing food (and that's just me )

MeMySonAndI · 02/12/2007 18:25

I hate to touch uncooked chicken, I had salmonelosis some time ago, and I a bit obsesive about uncooked chicken (wash my hands, and surfaces a zillion times during the process)

Urgh... and washing the dogs after a long time without a bath!

Maidamess · 02/12/2007 18:32

Yes Memy ,raw chicken makes me heave.

I wear rubber gloves. I pick it up betwixt two spatulas.

And when you try and cut it and your knife snags on one of those gristley tendons......Euch.

zookeeper · 02/12/2007 18:51

Cleaning out the scummy shitty water that collects at the bottom of the loo brush holder.

I too am surprised that the dishwasher has a filter that needs cleaning. Must investigate...

I quite like doing some of the jobs mentioned here. Love cleaning the loo!

And I don't do half of the stuff here... seriously - cleaning the wheelie bin?

I absolutely HATE cleaning up dog sick though. Bleh bleh bleh yik yik bleurgh yuk.

QuintessentialShadowOfYuleTide · 02/12/2007 19:13

clean the outside drain.

Spidermama · 02/12/2007 19:17

Emptying the compost or cleaning the oven.

kittock · 02/12/2007 22:42

I once had to take a urine sample from our cat (he had cystitis).

That was a low point.

moondog · 02/12/2007 22:46

How did you get the urine smaple?

God,the one I loved was an MNer relating the tale of her dog eating her tights and finding her toddler pulling the tights out of the dog's arse.

That can't have been fun.

Compost foul I agree.
Our lid is encrusted with monster stripy slugs.

kittock · 02/12/2007 22:56

Moondog - pmsl at dog's arse/tights/toddler scenario. Never thought I'd see those words in the same sentence.

The vet gives you a pipette and some special crystals to go in the litter tray (re cat urine sample not dog/hosiery extraction)

paulaplumpbottom · 02/12/2007 22:57

Coming across moldy food that my dd has hidden somewhere. I have to leave that kind of thing for my husband

moondog · 02/12/2007 22:59

It's hysterical isn't it??

So how does it work?
You suck up crystals?
