Good morning

Today is Anti-procrastination Day!

OP posts:
BiancaCastafiore · 21/11/2007 07:16

I've been up for a while after a restless nights sleep and a need to catch up properly with my morning routine. I've done quite a bit already but the rest of the house is waking up so I need to concentrate on getting them all up, washed, dressed and out to school/work.

I can't see myself having time to do the mission today as this morning is my turn to go and help at school but I'll see what I can do this afternoon, around the school runs etc.
It's parent eves tonight too.

I must do some ironing today.

EHM It was nothing you said, just dd and her behaviour recently is getting me down. She pushes every button and makes it all hard work. She wrote me a very sad note last night after I sent her to bed saying "Love me?, Do you still love me?" Poor little girl, I hate the thought of her thinking I don't love her I reassured her and we agreed to start afresh today. She's still asleep at the moment.
SMS hope you found some useful advice? I think I played recorder for a couple of weeks as a child but honest can't rememebr anything about it. I'd quite like to find an instrument for dd to learn but they don't offer lessons at school yet.

Better get on, will be back later x

Morning Bianca Hope you get a better nights sleep tonight. I am sure your DD knows you love her really, mine throw the odd "you don't love me" or "I hate you" sometimes. I hope you can get back on track with her

Morning All

Well I have the normal routine to get through, have to find something orange (or "oren" as it is here in Wales) for Ds to take to nursery with him today. One of the nursery supervisors is comming today to see how he (and the other children) are getting on.

DD1 has to take something beginning with "e" (which is a struggle as it is the welsh "e"....but I am pretty sure Elephant still starts with an e...just isn't spelt the same. She wants to take her "Anxious The Elephant" from our Haven holiday!

DD2 and I will spend the morning tidying up a bit and watching cbeebies no doubt!

bianca I have taken a leaf out of your book and started making some little gifts for a few people (I am absolutely useless at this kind of thing however, so it won't be anything spectacular) I have taken another leaf out of your book too, and let my DD and DS choose presents for some of the children I have bought for....much better plan!!!! DD is very good at spotting things, and I figure they might have more of a clue what children like!

Anyway, better get on....see you all in a while xx

TheMadHouse · 21/11/2007 09:01

Morning

I too have a a restless night DS1 was up complianing his hand was hurting and his chest is not great so back on to inhaulers for him.

DS2 was up screaming for apparently no reason - I thought maybee teething??????

Morning routine done.

I have to go in to the nearest town this am to the bank to get the cash for the floor to be relaid in the conservatory tomorrow and is is tipping down with rain - erggggggggg

Anyway waves to you all

BiancaCastafiore · 21/11/2007 09:04

thanks Luda. Why are your kids having to take things into school/nursery today, is it a special day or something?

I've had a bad morning since my earlier post - the tummy bug that i had at the weekend came back very suddenly this morning and I've had awful v&d Managed to struggle to school and arrange other mums to help out bringing them home for me so at least I don't have to leave the house again till this evening.

Off to sit on the sofa and watch daytime telly for a bit.

TheMadHouse · 21/11/2007 09:07

Oh Bianca make sure you take it esay, might be worth getting some asadophilis

Oodlesandludasoftinsel · 21/11/2007 09:17

Oooooh Bianca sounds grim I have no idea what to suggest for that...just rest up I guess
It is "oren" week at Ds's Nursery and at DD's school they do a letter of the alphabet each week...this week it is "E". Today is "oren" food tasting day at the nursery, I sent him in with some marmalade, orange juice, red leicester cheese, and a packet of cheese crisps (the packet was orange!) Last week it was Red ("Coch" in welsh)
Next week is Yellow ("Melyn" in welsh)
So no...not a special day in particular...just a week of orange and E's!

gibberish · 21/11/2007 09:35

bianca Poor you. Take it easy - lots of TLC required. I'll send some virtual TLC to you

SMS Hope you got your answer re the recorder. I used to play and play the violin now. Am teaching dd2 and dd3. dd4 now wants to learn.

Hello to everyone else! And sympathies to everyone with broken sleep. I had a rubbish night too. dh kept snoring then there was a gale blowing outside. Our window 'howls' when the wind blows so was awake until about 4.30 until I had had enough and slept downstairs.

Anyway, busy day today. Got home blessing to do, weekly shop, dd1's riding lesson and dd3 and dd4's dance lesson.

Have done so far:

Tidied all downstairs inc kitchen
Shined my sink
Unloaded and reloaded dishwasher
Folded one load of dried washing
Put another load on to dry
Put on first load of washing
Had a cup of coffee
Checked my bank account for fraud thanks to stoopid dhs people All ok though. Oh must tell you what happened to my boss through the week - lost £8000 through fraud and not getting it back by the looks of it Will tell you about it later. Awful.

dd1 and dd2 are doing a detailed clean in their bedroom today. Should be fun

Right off to have breakfast, get dressed and sort out my list.

yaddayule · 21/11/2007 10:48

grouchy chuck a bucket over here -theres a love !

gibberish · 21/11/2007 12:04

Ruby I would say buy, as you can get them pretty cheaply on the net - even the little ones on ebay are ok whilst they are young as you don't need a particularly good quality one when they are first learning. And then you can sell it on when you need a larger size.

Got the three of them upstairs practicing - what a racket! Still, they are happy for the time being. dd1 is working out roots of fractions Going to steer well clear of that one.

Right have now hoovered, dusted, filed paperwork, sorted out all the CDs, watered the plants, put on 2nd load of washing and drying and cleaned the cooker. Going to swish and swipe downstairs bathroom, clean the kitchen floor then start upstairs. Still to write shopping list too. dd1 not having her riding lesson as the weather is wild.

yaddayule · 21/11/2007 12:08

Just had a mahoosive Amazon delivery

Off to unpack and work out what the heck I've ordered !

Gibberish Your're list has tired me out !

gibberish · 21/11/2007 12:10

lol yadda Isn't a bad list today really as the house is pretty much ok most of the time these days. Tomorrow going to detail clean my bedroom and the oldest girls are going to do theirs. Mine's actually fine from the last time I did it so shouldn't take long. Theirs' however.... I may not be posting much tomorrow

gibberish · 21/11/2007 12:53

Have finished yay! dh has made dinner (that's because he annoyed me a few days ago and I have been ignoring him so he's trying to get into my good books. Need to remember this tactic for future use) and am going to do some reading with dd4 before sorting out my shopping list.

Have cleared out and cleaned the fridge in readiness of the weekly shop - 2 seconds job. You know, when I follow the FLYing routines properly, I seem to hardly have any housework. I'm always amazed at how it works! House is spotless and organised and I maybe spend 3 hours on it on a Wednesday (my weekly big clean) and perhaps 2hrs max on a Thursday depending on which room and working in (detailed clean) then the rest of the week is just picking up here and there and washing. It's great!

Oodlesandludasoftinsel · 21/11/2007 15:58

Hi

Been into town to get a few more xmas bits and bobs. Met a lady today who had 10 ...yes...10 kids
ranging from the age of 19 years to 18 months!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Absolutely MAD!!!!
She has 5 teenagers!!! Can you imagine!???

I have absolutely no idea how she affords xmas, and she has three birthday's in december too!

Does she not have a television!!!???? (I think that would be a much more sensible option for evening entertainment! )

FrostyGlassSlipper · 21/11/2007 16:08

Bianca - what a nightmare! My dad washed my mouth out with washing up liquid when I was little

Ruby - I got a pink ribbon oversized hot chocolate mug and plate from pampered chef for cancer research for friend for Christmas. look on this page for a picture Plan to add a few choccies and then wrap in cellophane. It cost me £17 for 2 cups and plates so £8.50 each and 20% went to cancer research too. Parhaps something like that for your Aunt.

*Yaddah

I went to work today!!!!!

I feel so empowered too. I was knocked back for childcare for the 4th or 5th time by MIL and I found a business card for a registered childminder local to me. Turns out she is the mum of Ed's schoolfriends. So I'm back on the job market (Yay thank goodness)

So I'm no longer beholden to the MIL for childcare

So further dones

Home and make Ed's Tea

To do

Paperwork

I'm stupidly happy inside
