Can anyone recommend a washing machine?

I am looking for a new machine.. but everything I seem to like the look of has very long wash times for a normal wash.. 180/ 235 minutes!

my current one does a 60 degree wash in 65 mins.
Does anyone have one that has a daily wash in less time or is this just because they have to get the ratings down so everything is slower...
Thanks

Just to add we recently bought a Miele twindos and it came with a 10 year service plan. And 6 months worth of detergent and softener which is automatically released into the wash through the twindos system. You can change the settings for heavily soiled loads etc but I like not having to put powder and softener in. I'm lazy so it suits me! Really quiet, hardly know it's on, outstanding washing power.

The German adverts are amusingly wanky 😃

Thanks to all of the the advice here and to the Which website, I've ordered a Miele. It arrives on Friday. I just hope we don't have amy major spillages or washing emergencies between now and then because our old machine is properly dead!

I've always loved Bosch machines. Reliable, wash well, good solid family workhorse washing machine

If I had the money I'd get a Miele though!!

Arnotts - I managed to one and get it on 18 months interest free credit- I wouldn't have starched to one otherwise and its one of their more basic models! They do sound reliable though and come with a 10 year warranty.

I mean, I'm a bitch but even I'd struggle to get a post deleted on a washing machine recommendation thread.

Have a look at ethical consumer before you make up your mind - longevity is a big part of sustainability. Also avoid ones with lots of programmes. Unnecessary complications!

I used to be manager of White goods at John Lewis. If you can afford them Miele are amazing but very expensive. Last well over 20 years and very well made (bloody heavy). Bosch is best mid range option as great value for money.

I couldn't agree more.
I've had Beko washing machine 7kg load for 6 years, never have had any problems, not even a smallest one. The washer has plenty of useful cycles and none of them are long - daily cycle for full load takes 49mins, cotton cycle 60C full load is under 2hrs, synthetics 1h10mins or 50mins when shortened, quick wash 15mins for 2kg, refresh 15mins, woolens 50mins, handwash 30mins, 20C wash 44 min, shirts 1h35mins. The quick wash is actually very effective, it washes really well! You can shorten some cycles or add extra rinse, change temp and spin speed. Absolutely fab machine. I cannot comprehend a full load taking around 4 hours. Ridiculous. Unfortunately, new Beko machines have long cycles apart from 28mins daily wash as per customers comments online. To the best of my knowledge Samsung and LG are the worst offenders in terms of horrendously long wash cycles.

I have a Miele Powerwash. Best thing since sliced bread.

All the new machines seem to have long cycles.

I basically only use my 40 degree cycle 51 minutes. And 60 - 65 minutes.

Machine is old. Looking to replace soon.
I can't grasp why all the new ones have such long cycles.
