Morning ladies. Sorry I didnt post last night, busy weekend, will write about it in a mo. But a recap (taken from Daisy&BooToo) for last week can be found below.

I understand the consensus for this baby steps group is to have weekends off, but everyone feel free to do whatever suits you.

Today, Day 6, is about Hot Spots. So the routine for today is:

Get dressed
Shine your sink
Read today's reminders
Read personal reminders (paper or electronic)
Turn any negative voices into nice ones
2 minute Hot Spot

Recap:
Day 1 on MN
Day 2 on MN
Day 3 on MN
Day 4 on MN
Day 5 on MN

I don't know what these emails are!! Is it something to do with yahoo then?

SuperMonkey · 01/10/2007 20:10

I've assumed that the emails are just the same as the reminders that we are being told to read - is that not right?

CindersNeedsHelp · 01/10/2007 20:58

Ok, to try to clear up confusion.

The official way to get with the FLYLady programme is to join her yahoo group and put your settings to accept e-mail. You then get e-mailed regularly the reminders.

Join the US yahoo group via the FLYLady website here.
The UK yahoo group is here

You can choose not to join the yahoo groups, and instead read the reminders online.

I find it easier to read all the reminders at once online, rather than keep coming back to check my e-mails every hour or so.

So the e-mails and reminders ARE the same thing.

Hope that helps!

Right.

If you want to try and follow flylady properly then go here

Sign up to the emails in that group or on the UK one (which is better for us)

Make sure you go through the babysteps again and do what you are told. So, start by shining your sink, then read the emails you are sent look around the website, and tell yourself this is about finding a way to keep on top of things in your house.

If you skip the steps then you are likely to fall off the wagon very quickly. The whole principle of this is that you never 'fall behind' or have to catch up. you just jump in and start at the point you are. by taking small steps - 5 mins here, 10 mins there - then you will get things done without burning out.

You will be told when to introduce hotspots and missions and new routines.

Ok?

x-post cinders

Jas · 01/10/2007 21:05

I'm so glad I clicked refresh before adding the same post as cinders and FGS
The uk site sends less emails, but they don't follow the same weekly routine as the FLYlady site, so it is easier to just read the list of reminders, and use the FLY theads to get yourselves going.

CindersNeedsHelp · 01/10/2007 21:07

Whoa ? nearly some major-x threads there.

My advice draculasmummyis scroll all the way to the bottom of this thread for the routine for today. As FLYBabies we are only meant to be taking baby steps, so today, day 6 we should only be doing the small routine given at the start of this thread.

We can, of course, do whatever else we want, but not to rush ahead with any other FLYing activities. There are experienced FLYBabies here who fell of the FLY wagon and are using this thread for motivation to get back into it, and they mention things some of us don?t know about yet! If you haven?t heard of it, we?re not meant to be doing it yet.

So, just read the reminders/emails and don?t worry about zones and weekly blessings ? WE ARE NOT THERE YET!

mylastrolo is rushing ahead of us because she knows the game!

Didn?t mean to shout ?WE ARE NOT THERE YET? in a manic way, rather I wanted to stress the point.

Really didn?t mean to upset anyone.

DH has done a great job in the kitchen. It's not finished but it's a blardy good start - and more importantly he cleaned the cooker!

So after tea I've made sure that the hob, sink and the bit inbetween are shiny, and will be kept that way. I've even "warned" the boys to help to keep it that way, lol.

I am slightly ahead, because I work Monday-Friday, and the lads have soooo many activities between them that I have to get bits done when I can, building up the routine bit by bit is great for me, but I need to press ahead when I get a bit of time (and make use of DH when he's around, lol)

So:
Exercise bike and ready (no shoes, lol)
read reminders etc
shiny sink
hot spot
clothes/uniforms ready for tomorrow (day 7)
made a start on my routines doc(day 8)

I WILL fall back at some point, I know I will, but whilst the momentum is there, I'm making the most, without going ott.

mylastrolo · 01/10/2007 22:20

jeepers cinders you could easily get paranoid on here are you all contacting each other?

I've never done babysteps thoroughly before.

I usually post on flylady. I just feel that you all know each other and my ears are burning.

I am only going to the routines you have posted.

thanks for them as it has made a great difference to me.

Good luck with it and i just browse from now on.

flowerybeanbag · 01/10/2007 22:46

er, sorry I asked!
Wasn't trying to skip anything, was just confused by the talk of emails, didn't know if it was something I should know about.
