FLYing - baby steps - day 6 - Monday

Morning ladies. Sorry I didnt post last night, busy weekend, will write about it in a mo. But a recap (taken from Daisy&BooToo) for last week can be found below.

I understand the consensus for this baby steps group is to have weekends off, but everyone feel free to do whatever suits you.

Today, Day 6, is about Hot Spots. So the routine for today is:

Get dressed
Shine your sink
Read today's reminders
Read personal reminders (paper or electronic)
Turn any negative voices into nice ones
2 minute Hot Spot

Nope,just the tone! Done sink,laundry and starting the hotspot that is my spare room so dh can decorate it.

Don't have an entrance hall Or a dining room.

Well I don't have an "entrance hall" either.. .. it's a little square at the bottom of the stairs/behind front door... and much junk collects there.. but it's clear now

Well I too can say that the 1m x 1m area at the bottom of the stairs is completely empty. Phew! another day's hard work over. Off to find chocolate.

ladies ladies if you know me at all the fact my house is even reasonable is just amazing. I tidied hotspot computer table in hall yes tiny hall too.

Want to get some low down hooks for girls coats as we are in from school now and it is a mess again with all shoes and boots off.

I work tomorrow and next day so nought will be done then shine sink obviously. my d/h hasn't got the shiny sink concept. Moaned i got rid of basin and although he loads dishwasher like no other !!!!!!!!!!! he always leaves soapy water in sink i know!!! is there someone i can report him too

Got some catching up to do - been to see my cousin today who had a baby 2 weeks ago. She's sooo tiny, you forget how small they are. It's incredible to think that my DS was like that 4 months ago.

So now I'm back and need to tackle my hotspots. I've decided I have three - the stairs, the kitchen window ledge and the arm of the sofa. Think I'll do the stairs today.

this flying is addictive isn't it.. by 8.30am me and kids were up, dressed, breakfasted, dishes done, sink shined and washing in the machine, and done 5 jigsaw puzzles! it's bizzarre how doing more cleaning makes you feel like you have more time on your hands iyswim. tis v.good tho, not tried the hotspot yet, which one to choose.......

Ooh Monkey do you have a DS same age as mine? My DS was born middle of May.

He was born 13 May so yes, it appears we have boys of the same age

can i just ask.......
you know the ten thousand e-mails flylady sends every day, are we supposed to be reading them or doing them? the zone thing and the home blessing thing etc, should i be doing this? bit confused

should I know what the dickens you are talking about beautifuldays?

i don't know, am getting a bit confused, keep getting e-mails telling me i should be doing all these things and i don't even know what the chuff they are!
will just keep shining my sink then!

Beuatiful days.. read you welcome message. Flylady recommends that you take them up gradually doing it bit by bit, concentrating primarily on sink shining! (It's more psycholgocial than about the sink I feel!)

And if you do get/feel behind.. you are never behind.. just jump back in on any task and do that. It's a helluver lot better than doing nothing and will put you back in that place - psycholgically - where you feel you are getting somewhere! And indeed you will be!

Please can someone enlighten me about these emails, should I be getting them?

emails are daunting that is why i like this thread so much it filters them down to what you need. plus i never use yahoo so no doubt my inbox must be full.

off to do evening routine i hope .

Hmm.. well today went pear shaped.
Got woken by a very happy smiley DD, but I was shattered so crawled into tracky bottoms (one up from pyjamas, far from dressed to shoes.) Came downstairs for a cuppa, put some washing on, half hour later realised DD had fallen asleep so I went back to bed too.
Then got in a grump with DP so decided to go out for the day.

Sink not shiney, hot spots not tackled, going out again tomorrow and also have to pack for going away.

At least DP noticed the pile of washing I left in the middle of the bathroom so he did that for me... well he put it in the washer but forgot to turn it on (again). He did manage to dry the load that was already in the washer though.

Now I'm going to do the last load of washing, shine sink and try to work out what I need when taking a 2 month old on holiday.

I did tackle some hotspots over the weekend so I don't feel too bad about falling off the wagon today.

Can someone purlease tell me what we are meant to be doing then? Cos i've lost the plot already!!!!
