I've fallen in love with my Eufy RoboVac

Bought him on Sunday, opened him on Monday. He's been working ever since! I have never felt such passion for a gadget before. I love him. I've yet to name him. He was a whizz in the bedroom today!!
My only criticism is that he doesn't do stairs, and could do with something in top of him to do the tops of skirting boards, but other than that, our floors have never been cleaner!!

@Queenoftheashes that's the exact reason mine has a male name! I am a single parent with 2 DSs and 2 male cats, I am outnumbered as it is...

castieldeansam · 07/07/2020 13:16

@Queenoftheashes Robocop/Murphy was also considered here too!
But Dustin suited him better.

Manservant innit 😂

What happens if there's stuff in the floor, if for example he should wander into DS1'S room where he may encounter manky socks and charger leads....

ponygirlcurtis · 07/07/2020 22:14

They need a clear floor, really, and mine came with cable ties to secure plug leads together so they won't get tangled in him. I can't do DS1's room with him for this reason - too much stuff crap on the floor. And he does try to mount the base on the cat activity centre, horny little fecker! But really, it only takes 10 seconds to clear the floor in my living room. Totally worth it.

BeeFarseer · 07/07/2020 22:17

How do they cope with uneven floors? Unfortunately we have dodgy floorboards and the whole floor needs sorting out. We have some sticky-up bits and some divot-y bits, all under the carpet.

LaurieFairyCake · 07/07/2020 22:19

I bought one during lockdown to cheer myself up

I've now bonded with it like another pet

Even the dog knows that when I say "where's Youfster" she turns round and looks for her Blush

FrugiFan · 07/07/2020 22:25

I love mine. I hate hoovering and dont do it nearly often enough, now I just set Robo off and he does it all for me! Wonderful with a 3 year old who traipses bits everywhere and also gives me an excuse to make her pick up all the little bits of playmobil and lego for fear they might get eaten!
It goes around randomly which I find kind of annoying, when you can see one bit which has been missed and it keeps missing it! I also dont bother with the "find your home" thing which takes forever so I just pick him up when done and plonk him on the charger.

One thing I'm not that bothered by is the connection to google home / alexa. It can only really turn it on and off so not worth the extra money iMO (not sure what I was expecting)

Fluffycloudland77 · 08/07/2020 13:13

Mines called Sebastian the 2nd. The first Sebastian was made by vax and his battery died so amazon replaced him with a Eufy 10.

When we have hard floors everywhere I’ll take him upstairs.

marly11 · 08/07/2020 22:31

I'd love one. Just wondering if the cats might think it's for them and destroy it? Anyone got cats which are the 'curious' type alongside one of these?

ponygirlcurtis · 08/07/2020 23:18

My cats are curious, @marly11. They watch him and don't move when he trundles at them until they absolutely have to (ie brushes tickling their tails). They are fairly sturdy. About he was bigger than I thought.

That's what she said

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/07/2020 06:36

Our Bengal was quite highly strung but mostly just avoided it.

Piratetree · 09/07/2020 06:47

They hold a surprising amount @alwaysinpjs, I have four children and a long haired cat so there’s a lot of hair and Cheerios on the floor but the Eufy copes well and kind of compacts all the dirt so it holds more than you’d think.

I only use it on my hard floors really as our only carpet downstairs is longer pile and when he’s accidentally gone in that room he’s drawn willys all over it.

The random moving around is annoying but if you just ignore it it does eventually do the whole floor. I think I was expecting it to go up and down in straight lines.

My dog occasionally argues with eufy it’s funny to watch...eufy wins though 😂
The cats just watch it and the older car literally rolls her eyes at it the younger ones runs the other way!
Honestly wish i got one sooner - it makes you want to keep things tidy so it can hoover everywhere!

DottyDotAgain · 09/07/2020 11:10

Me too! I've had her for a week - she's called Buffy (the crumb slayer) and I just love her. She's programmed to go around the house at 9pm and every single night fills up with crap - I can't believe how hairy and dirty our floors must have been.... (2 x teenage boys and 2 x cats..!).

I do pick up leads etc to keep them out of the way. It gets in a pickle if it catches the wire the Alexa hit the ground!
TipseyTorvey · 09/07/2020 11:17

Came here just to say mine's called Dan and I love him more than anyone else in this house. He does get stuck under the dining table and try to shag the bar stool bases but I'll let him off because the floor is so clean now. I want a separate one for upstairs and a mopping one now.

EspressoX10 · 09/07/2020 18:10

Ours is called Isaac (Azimov) and I'd replace him the same day if he ever gave up the ghost.

Truly love him.

UncleShady · 09/07/2020 18:50

Jeff likes to eat cables and then yell for help. The cats also ignore him.

I just throw everything from the floor of my kids rooms (ours 😱) onto the bed. Encourages people to tidy up before bed!! (It doesn't, pile just goes in one place on the floor)

I literally have mine running all day while I'm working from home! Back to its home for a charge then out again. Crumbs on the worktop? Brush them onto the floor as he'll be back round soon!
