naily thats cheap for round here!! he done a fantstic job tho and hes just done my lounge for me to,no papaer to strip so that was only £250.

nailpolish · 05/09/2007 09:49

i have half stripped - its just a joke as the paper is ages old and my arm is falling off with a sponge and a knife

room is enormous with quite a high ceiling

and i have guests coming next week

NO, dont use a sponge to wet the walls, far too messy, use a spray bottle with a couple of drops of fairy liquid, I prefer to do it this way than use a steamer.

NormaStanleyFletcher · 05/09/2007 09:55

Ok so they are £20

But we have had ours for years and done several rooms with it so well worth the money

Wisteria · 05/09/2007 10:00

I bought one from Aldi for £15 and it's superb. You can hire them from the tool hire places. Failing that, soak the walls with warm water and leave for about 20-30 mins, then get a really good scraper and the paper should just strip quite easily. (Unless it's woodchip, in which case a steamer is the only way!)

kitsandbits · 05/09/2007 10:01

My BIL wouldve done it for £50

but were nowhere near!

NormaStanleyFletcher · 05/09/2007 10:03

I don't think you need an expensive one - they just steam the wall and that is all you need
