Does anyone fancy a tidying buddy? Or in fact a virtual decluttering buddy? I need to do some major decluttering and tidying... I wonder if anyone would like to join me in this and we could cheer each other on!!!?

Ooh that's loads, well done.

I still have to contend with chewing gum on a jacket. Blech. Might leave that job for the weekend.

Yesterday I prepared the utility room for painting and today I'm going to paint it. I filled some holes around new pipes that have been put in that I've worried will become the homes of mice that my cats bring in if they were, they've been bricked up now! 🐀🐾🐾🐾

Good work 9.

Everything I do seems to go wrong at the moment so I’m trying to relax and read and will just do an ordinary clean.

I even posted this on the wrong thread originally.

9Greenbottles · 14/07/2019 19:33

Bless you Rosa, things all going wrong is often about our perception but be kind to yourself and come back to it when you're in the right head space Thanks

I'm very motivated just now because a) building out extension has been going on since last May and I'd just like it all to be finished and b) we're off on holiday on Wednesday and I'd like to get things looking fairly normal for the cat sitters so I'm hanging up my paintbrush this evening and will spend the next couple of days packing and cleaning.

What I do think is that I take so long to do things that I'm sure I didn't take so long to do when I was younger. A couple of days to paint two walls when I'd have had the whole thing done in a day before. Maybe I'm being harsh on myself. It may be bigger walls and more distractions Blush

RosaWaiting · 14/07/2019 20:58

I’m not so bad at painting walls but the edges....ooh they look awful!

9Greenbottles · 14/07/2019 22:05

I hate the edges. They take so long and usually look terrible. I know I should use masking tape but it takes so long to do 🥴

SusieQ5604 · 14/07/2019 22:10

I'm working on clothes at the mo and have a shed full of furniture, etc that I need to get rid of, plus lots of "collections" and books in the house.

I keep boxes to donate going every week but it never seems to be enough!!!

Tidyhomewannabe · 16/07/2019 19:15

I had to go and care for my mum on Friday, I got back about 1130pm last night to my eldest and my fella being ill, so I've been up all night. Today I've walked around the house and every single room is an absolute mess!! Sad all that hard work from last week trashed! I've been on a massive downward spiral today, partly from lack of sleep but mostly because I feel like I'm back at square 1! Trying not to stress about it, going to list my priorities then chip it off bit by bit tomorrow, pfffttt

Tidyhomewannabe · 16/07/2019 19:17

9 how's the decorating going ?

AdoraBell · 16/07/2019 22:55

Nothing happening here, started a new job this week, head all over the place. Will re-start next week.

👍 Brew all round.

9Greenbottles · 17/07/2019 01:46

To the untrained eye, it looks like I've finished Tidy, but it's not! 😀

I am just about to drag myself into bed after cleaning the house and packing for holidays. At least nothing is hanging up to dry that I need to shove in at the last minute. No more decluttering for at least 2 weeks.

It sounds like you've just had a terrible time. I hope everyone is on the mend, and you aren't actually back at square 1 Flowers

Tidyhomewannabe · 17/07/2019 09:43

Well instead of writing a list I got drunk Wineseemed a good idea at the time but wasn't this morning when I had to get up for the school run !

POA is to do 5 mins in each room, list of priority things that NEED to be done , then I'll reassess this afternoon .

Enjoy your holiday 9

Hope everyone else has a productive day Grin

@DDIJ that sounds so hard. How old are your children?

I really hope they are aware of how you feel.
Just told my 25 year old daughter some home truths

9Greenbottles · 22/07/2019 14:38

DDIJ what do you have in place to try to manage the things that have been separated or to encourage them not to separate things?

How did the children react when they weren't able to go on their trip? Were you able to use it as an example of their actions having consequences (or is it the younger children who are mostly the separators)?

You do sound overwhelmed by it all.

9Greenbottles · 22/07/2019 14:40

Sometimes you just need to have a blow out to get you back on track Tidy 😀
