What would a combo of exit and clutter be, clexit? Exclutter? Perhaps we should just stick with declutter ....

Welcome to the March Flylady thread, we’d love to have you with us as we chat and work our way through our houses in March. Flylady uses the zone method of cleaning so we’ll be focusing on a different area of the house each week – we will post daily links to the Launch Pad on the Flylady website which gives all the details of the current Zone, daily missions and babysteps.

Newbies are always welcome so feel free to join in at any time. Flylady does recommend decluttering your house first, so if you are not ready for the cleaning routines yet it’s fine to focus on the decluttering bit – add the babysteps in if you wish.

A worry tree is a list of worries and there interlinks. It looks like a tree in how things branch out from a point. You can assign sizes of worry to each aspect if you do pictorially (or just by colour coding) or whether you can do something to lessen the worry. it can help show what is dependant on what and what worry is the main worry when there are lots. I find it useful when I am stressed to the point where I no longer know where to start.

ChicCroissant · 20/03/2019 14:23

Bower I always say you never expect to lose someone the same age as yourself, but I think that hits a bit harder in your teens or early twenties [flowers}

After dithering for a day or so, have ordered dancewear that DD needs, it usually arrives quite quickly so will stay in tomorrow just in case (or Friday!)

Done a couple of loads of laundry but not much else today, will crack on tonight. Hope DD feels better, she seemed to go downhill a bit last night but was still strangely determined to go in to school today.

Catch you later ladies.

Like the idea of the worry tree hills although I fear I would worry about making the worry tree right Smile. Sorry about all the stress thoughSad

Have had a relatively peaceful afternoon here, a bike ride, lunch and then I did some work while ds watched some TV, now he's playing in the garden.

School run next then get roast chicken sorted for dinner, going to make some stuffing balls and serve with random leftover potato portions from the freezer and peas as that is all I have left atm! Must go to the supermarket tomorrow...I've been trying to use up stuff in the freezer but I think I will definitely need some fresh vegetables as well for the rest of the week.

Also need to remind dh he promised to look into the will writing again today (anti procrastination - it's a slow process!) I've had to leave it to today because he has been flat out with uni work and it isn't the kind of thing I can just do on my own.

Cag my concentration is also shot to pieces of late Sad trying to get into a book at the moment but unless it grabs me by page one I really struggle! And as for TV...I just can't focus.

Stilllivinginazoo · 20/03/2019 16:53

Foxes* life is too short to waste on a crap book.if can't get into it find another oneSmile

School run(Hour round trip)
Hip now feels very painful.bugger

HillsBesideTheSea · 20/03/2019 17:15

My worry tree was basically this:

Too much stress
leading to feeling like
Too little time
due to :
work /ds/needing to shop for an occassion/house taming for visitors

I can do things to sort work, ds, occassion and house.
I have the energy to 1. do the computer based research needed for work - done

  1. ONline hunt for outfit - currently in that worm hole

Work requires stuff to be done at work - can't really do at home
House - can be done a little bit at a time and can have others help

If that thought process makes sense.

Although online hunting means I now need to break out the sewing machine urgently so that adds a new stress level but that would be a different tree branch.

Today I am mostly listening to my body and not moving from bed.

Stilllivinginazoo · 20/03/2019 18:05

If I had a worry tree I fear all my leaves would wilt and fall off ......

Load wash in machine, dry stuff put away

Dinner tonight.lamb mince with cumin and mint, spinach, carrots and peas cooking to go in warmed pittas in they still fit for consumption,if not with couscous!
"D"p wanted meat, but not pitta/couscous so his will be encased in pastry a la Greek meat pasty!(will cook that whilst cooking bug tray veg for me n dd2.lentil and white bean burgers are made and chilling to go with that)

Bowerbird5 · 20/03/2019 18:26

Hope you feel better soon Hills also think the “ worry tree” a good idea. I have a “ blob tree” for school ( Nurture) a tree with blob people in and you place yourself on the tree and later on hopefully as you feel better you put yourself on another branch.

Been out in the garden and have lots of leaf and dried plant material ready for zoo. What a plonker he is as if that is a nice, relaxing walk with wagons flying past! Glad DS was settled later and god idea distracting by looking at gardens. Spring flowers are always appreciated after the long winter.
That is good news SC but don’t overdo it.

Had quite a nice, relaxing day. Did school paperwork and delivered it. Went out with BF and DD for lunch and sorted out summerhouse delivery for early April.Looked around craft shop too.
Home by 2:30 tea and then did some gardening with DD till 5 pm.
Going to tackle ironing pile later and sort any clothingthat can be put away first. DD has tidied hall and stairs and vacuumed yesterday. So I really need to tidy boudoir and vacuum the floor.

Home schooling don’t forget lots of lesson plans and ready made ideas on TES. Some are free.
It seems ridiculous that no one is sending work for DS. Is there a TA you can appeal to if any work sheets are handed out. I used to keep some for a traveller child and her mum popped in about every fortnight.
I never understand why teaching staff don’t want to do this as it just means copying an extra sheet.

Bowerbird5 · 20/03/2019 18:27

Mum sounds yummy zoo. 😀I d make his extra hot 😉

Cagliostro · 20/03/2019 18:46

Ooh yes I got some Viking stuff off tes recently but I must look for other stuff.

Particularly looking for atomic structure stuff atm. The ks3 chemistry books I bought (CGP both foundation and higher) didn’t have it in which really surprised me. I’ve found it in a GCSE one but DS is 9 and doesn’t have the language skills to handle most of that. But he really wants stuff about atoms

HillsBesideTheSea · 20/03/2019 18:59

Atomic structure is not on the KS3 syllabus It first appears on the GCSE syallbus. I confused the heck out of ds by bringing it in too soon because I forgot this fact. There are a few resources if you look at american home schooling based sites because they bring it in sooner.

Saw this, had to share.

Hills Grin

Cagliostro · 20/03/2019 22:01

:o love that

Can’t say I entirely relate though because plenty of stuff I pick up was left there by... me. 🙄😳

Thanks hills (and for the worry tree info 💐) I will have to search for some accessible stuff for him. He has some knowledge of it already, but half the stuff in the GCSE book section on it is just too much of a leap (things like diameters of nuclei or something and his maths is nowhere near that level) so it would be a waste of money to go there yet. But I don’t want to ignore it altogether as DS is champing at the bit. I could’ve sworn we did it before GCSE though and my friend’s DS said they did as well, but maybe they take a different approach to the timeframe for covering GCSE stuff.

DS got really upset at the fantastic beasts film and has declared grindelwald a smeghead.

I have sorted some more clothes, the age 2-3 stuff is packed away now (loads of free stuff from when I volunteered at the weekend, plus my mum bought a load of jammies in the sales) and I’ve done loads of laundry.

Also I had a sort of decluttering idea. There’s a few toys and books I keep meaning to get rid of as they are missing bits, falling apart etc. So we are going to take those on holiday with us for Cagletini, since she will need something to play with (they are fine still, not dangerously broken etc), and then we will chuck them away there. Thus, we won’t have to worry about losing precious toys and books on holiday, and also it will free up a little space in the suitcase for any souvenirs (we are going to visit a board game shop so...)

Sanguineclamp · 20/03/2019 22:09

Very apt Hills! Grin

HillsBesideTheSea · 20/03/2019 22:16

cag me too. I just call past me a fucker. Wouldn't do to discriminate GrinBlush

Lisette1940 · 20/03/2019 22:50

Husband away until next week. Easier to clean house. Stays tidy too.

Downside is I don't ever drink on my own and would dearly love vino given the current state of things generally. Also need to mind liquid calorie intake.

Tea it is then.

ChicCroissant · 20/03/2019 23:32

Have been out this evening and liberated Tesco of a few products DD needs for Food Tech this week. We already have some of them, but not in date Blush

Lisette I am trying to resist the siren call of a small bottle of Baileys that is open in the fridge tonight. Also eating too many shortbread biscuits.

Hills, I don't know what you mean with that meme

I also have a small opened bottle of Bailey's. Bought for a guest, never had any of it.

Am decluttering tomorrow. Waves at all on thread 👋

Stilllivinginazoo · 21/03/2019 06:15

hillsGrinthanks lovely for a chuckle to start my day with!!

ChicCroissant · 21/03/2019 09:25

I did resist the Baileys, unfortunately. Tonight, it may not be so lucky.

I am doing 15 minute room rescues today, staying in and hoping for a parcel. First load of laundry in the machine and some washing up done - dishwasher needs to run as well. Just had half an hour for breakfast and internet so almost time to get back to it all.

Catch you later not at 15 min intervals as I procrastinate

Cagliostro · 21/03/2019 13:38
