Ages ago there used to be a slatterns housework motivation thread with some good chit-chat along the way. I can't seem to find where it is now? If there is one point me in the direction of where you are all posting now, if not then pull up a pew write your housework to do list, have a bit of a chit-chat and attempt to get some chores done Smile

OK my list today is

Make beds done
Washington dishes done
Laundry first load on line 2nd load in
Take down Xmas decorations
Hoover downstairs
Clean bathroom
Declutter toys

The priority is take down Xmas decorations without fail. Xmas is old news for me now.

I have made a huge dent in the washing up!
Made soup
Wash on
Load into tumble drier
Sorted paperwork
Put in a casserole

lynnepot · 03/01/2019 19:30

Hey all. Good to see lots of people on this thread and everyone busy.

Today I have

Washed breakfast dishes
Made beds
Done 1x load of laundry
Deep cleaned kitchen
Made tea
Washed up after tea
Wiped over kitchen tops

I'm currently bathing ds. Then just need to do a general tidy up downstairs.

So I didn't get everything on my list done (I was aiming high!) but I did change the list a bit as the day went on and completed most of it:

Gut girls room✅
Skip runs✅
Cull and sort of clothes✅
Holiday stuff in suitcase up loft✅
Pack away Christmas tree✅
Clear drawer in bedroom for Bujo✅
Empty tumble drier✅
Tidy and clean living room✅
Build Doc Mcstuffins set

Have swept and mopped under the sofas, cleared all the decs etc and it seems very, very bare now! I'm thinking I need some accessories but I know this phase shall pass once I get used to living in a sitting room that's not full of clutter and twinkles 😂

Morning all.

I am cleaning for the weekend today. I try and do as little housework as possible over the weekends.

So far I have

fed ds

I need to

bring the bins back in
wash dishes
wipe over kitchen tops
make beds
laundry
clean bathroom
clean downstairs loo
hoovering
make tea
general tidy up

I best get cracking!

Checking in!

I have been struck down with another god awful cold virus, feeling very shitty.
Still managed to;

  • Disinfect the toilets
  • Mop tiled floors
  • Hoover and Sweep through
  • Do a load of washing
  • Put away all clean laundry
  • Put on a dishwasher load
  • Clean TV screens
  • Dust surfaces
  • Tidy DDs playroom (AGAIN!)
  • General tidying/cleaning

I'm now collapsed in bed with hot water and lemon feeling very sorry for myself. Sad

WhoTookTheChristmasCookie · 04/01/2019 22:04

Also watched a couple of episodes of Marie Kondo on Netflix - that gave me a decent boot up the backside.

I finally finished my household admin today too. Just need to update my income/expenditure spreadsheet now (trying my hardest to be organised and stop wittering away money this year.)

cikecaka · 04/01/2019 22:50

Motivation tomorrow is to clean upstairs,
Need to move a locker and drawers upstairs from shed
Check uniform is washed and ready for Monday
DD3s room (she's away with friends tomorrow so need to get in and declutter)
All washing downstairs (sort into black bags)
Clean bathroom
Hoover landing and stairs

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 05/01/2019 10:38

Oh you're all doing well! We've had a d&v bug so apart from lots of washing, cuddling dc & cleaning hard surfaces I've done almost nothing.

Think it's done one now so the plan for today is:

Take down & box up Christmas decorations.

Dust lounge fully

Vaccum lounge

Vaccum sofas

Buy a lamp to compensate for the dark corner where the tree was.

Mop kitchen

Usual washing

SlatternIsTrying · 05/01/2019 12:13

I have so much to achieve this weekend. I need to organise and get arse into gear.

Batch cooking
Christmas decs away
Type up PTA stuff
Deliver PTA stuff
Declutter bedroom
Bag up DCs’ too small clothes
Get rid of some paperwork

That’s only the tip of the very large frustrating iceberg.

WhoTookTheChristmasCookie · 05/01/2019 12:16

Thankfully most of my deep cleaning is done for this week.
Today I need to;

  • Do a food shop
  • Sort out laundry again! (Just put my last load in the dryer)
  • Put the dishwasher on
  • Clean kitchen sides
  • Tidy bedrooms
  • Spray soft furnishings.

That's it! Everything else is pretty much done Grin

Wauden · 05/01/2019 12:32

Slattern here!

Put out wild bird food
Change water for wild birds
Go through pile of papers, sort into categories
Gather docs for tax return
Do tax return
Laundry
Wash up
Order food
Take down Christmas decs, store, label them
Tidy bedroom
Clean kitchen
Clean fridge
Keep to Dry January
Smile

SlatternIsTrying · 05/01/2019 14:20

Mmmmmm, I have been busy but haven’t particularly stuck to my list. So far I have -

Sorted out 3 loads from laundry basket of doom
Took stuff out of freezer to defrost for batch cooking
Tidied up bedroom (but not decluttered)
Loaded dishwasher

Krouse64 · 05/01/2019 16:05

This is great just had my parents staying for a month and have lost the will to do anything. They have gone home now so need something to motivate me which is why I’m so happy to see this post
My jobs for the weekend
1: tidy my room
2: clean bathroom and toilet
3: brush and mop all floors upstairs
4: take the bed out of dinning room and put furniture back in.( fed up of eating with plates on our knees)
5: take decorations down and put away

lynnepot · 05/01/2019 17:44

Hey all, just checking in really. Not really done much of note today really. I try not to over the weekends if I can avoid it. I completed my list yesterday so bathrooms and hoovering were achieved. House not looking too bad currently.

Today I have

Washed dishes
Wiped kitchen tops
Made beds
Took old toys and clothes to charity shop

Tea is currently on the go, so just need to Wash up after that and do a quick general tidy up of downstairs once ds has gone bed.

Washed the window in sitting room

All washing downstairs (sort into black bags)
Clean bathroom
Hoover landing and stairs

WhoTookTheChristmasCookie · 06/01/2019 08:07

Feeling a bit more human today so I'm going to crack on moving some furniture around.

My plan is to;

  • Move dressing table into my bathroom
  • Put sofa bed (it's a plush couch that's so comfortable but takes up quite a bit of space) from DDs room into my room
  • Organise DDs room so she has more space to play

Then;

  • Put laundry away
  • Clean and disinfect the dogs room
  • Steam mop floors
  • Hoover
  • Clean bathrooms
  • Hopefully organise the utility room cupboards

I really want to sort through all the kitchen cupboards as well. I don't know what I have/haven't got food wise and I need to find out so I can plan meals.

Busy day, see how much I'll actually get done though Grin

I am certainly a slattern so please can I join? Today I have prepared and cleared away breakfast, 1 load of washing, made gingerbread, put some laundry away, prepared lunch. Tomorrow I intend to sort old toys and unwanted Christmas gifts for the charity shop (and drop them off not drive around with them in the boot for 3 weeks).

lynnepot · 06/01/2019 15:22

More the merrier not I bet your kitchen smells amazing having made homemade gingerbread
