the last time we moved house we got:

  • 4 old dirty horse feeding boxes
  • tin of freshly spilt emulsion paint (5ltr tin) on garage floor
  • 12 bags of rubbish, some must have had dog poo (very stinky)
  • 4ft stuffed teddy bear in the loft full of mites and cobwebs

some other bits too, but nothing of value!

oooh good thread

good things:
two antique handwoven rugs worth £500 between them (discarded and left behind as worthless and old fashioned) They are beautiful. We have one of them cleaned up and taking pride of place in living room now. the other one is for the guest cabin we will have one day...
a rotting haystack which became fantastic compost material for this year's veg

bad things:
land disputes over boundaries and existence of supposed 'road' through land - ha!
very ugly old yugoslavian furniture throughout (made a lovely bonfire )

In the last house we had LOTS of cheap plastic bowling trophies and a stack of porn mags in our loft!!

Our new house we had some christmas lights, a broken hedge trimmer (which FIL has just fixed and given us back ) and a huge box of playing sand - which when we tried to move the box collapsed and we spent hours getting it all up!

Well went we moved into our present house I took delivery of the following:-

A kitchen bin full of breakfast leftovers
An oven which was still warm and filthy - it took 12 attempts to clean it (and it was only 9 months old)
When I lost a sock, I looked behind the hot tank in the airing cupboard and found bras, socks, sweat bands, vests, crop tops - not just a few but a dusbin bag full. There was also the odd sock/pants/bras behind radiators in all bedrooms and living room/dining room.
Also a garden 10 feet longer than we first thought - once I had cleared all the crap (a skip and a half) from it - we have just had it professionally landscaped and it is my pride and joy!!!

They were lovely people but what a mess!!!
