September fledgling roll call: Ready, Set, FLY....

HillsBesideTheSea · 01/09/2018 08:25

Yes this is the bonkers back to school thread. We welcome you to jump aboard for the ride. We are following the Fly lady system for taming the chaos (can't have anyone over syndrome). We are at various levels and there is NO obligation to follow it to the letter (we've installed a bar in the naughty corner for hanging out and relaxing when needed)

4 levels for flying:
Baby steps - good for finding a routine in the tasks and getting over the perfection crippling effect
Baby steps and missions - yep basic routine and more in depth tasks
Baby steps, missions, and deep cleaning - can't clean clutter so don't consider this one if you need the next level
Flying combined with a decluttering system (kondo/unfuck etc etc) lets be honest fly lady is good for routine but not so quick with the decluttering results sometimes.

So ground rules, yes ground rules it is September:

  1. Newbies - we are a long running but friendly bunch. We try not to seem clicky but it doesn't always come across as some of us have known each other on here for a long time, just join the chatter and you'll soon be a fledgling
  2. There is NO wrong or right way of doing this, it is about adapting the system to suit your life circumstances, which will be different from someone else's.

Linkies will be posted daily and will appear shortly. Until then, jump on board, enjoy the ride and there are still hammocks, sand, comfy seats, cushions, blankies and a full English on the naughty corner bar it is a Saturday morning, breakfast is earnt

Thanks SC.
Sounds similar to mine. Throat from hell. Sinus headaches. I had four Co codamol yesterday to cope.lacking energy sometimes feeling nauseous. Aching limbs. Stuffed up nose and coughing up yuk!
Still in bed DH has gone to take DD I think.i will be eating something soft and don't care what they have as long as I don't need to get up to cook it. Going to fill Teasmade and collect some herb/fruit teas from downstairs. Have a crossword and a serial to readyx3 and have looked up some stuff on Tes for planning next week. Have important day at choir tomorrow. Don't think I will be doing much singing. My favourite song just now too😢
Might find some knitting to do later if I feel up to it. Great stress reliever unless you get difficult pattern I believe.

I have been AWOL today. Mainly because I did an exercise video this morning. I have decided yet again to try to get fitter. Video was good but I felt mentally exhausted after it and have been in a really CBA mood ever since???

Anyway, have snapped out of it and now making tea.

Strictly later.

Soothing Brew for all unwell people.

Thanks for links Hills.

Anyone else watching HP? Book two. And I have just realised that the over pronunication by the lead female character annoys the hell out of me. Good job it tames down in the later films. (Like what i did to get around google search terms?) GrinGrin

Spreadingcudweed · 15/09/2018 20:21

Xpost Foxes oh no! Sorry you and your dh are ill too!

Hills is that a full house then? Is every single Fledgling ailing? Near enough I reckon!

[Prepares isolation ward in naughty corner. Plumps pillows. Starches sheets. Practises hospital corners. Polishes Florence Nightingale lamp.]

Spreadingcudweed · 15/09/2018 20:26

Not at all, it's a rather odd film on Beeb2 that's all. And sorry it's actually called This Beautiful Fantastic. Never heard of it before this evening either. It's one of those that is trying too hard to be meaningful but is not quite managing it, so ends up irritating be and twee. A third rate English "Amelie"!

MsForestier · 15/09/2018 20:26

Chez Forester has also succumbed to the everlasting sinus bug. I've had it, dh has it and asthma prone ds ended up in a & e early this morning. We are not cleaning; we are waiting for this to take us.

I leave my radiator duster, special cleaning caddy and zoflora collection to the thread as a bequest.

If recovered will start next zone next week.

Hope Bower and SC households recover and none of you also come down.
