September fledgling roll call: Ready, Set, FLY....

Yes this is the bonkers back to school thread. We welcome you to jump aboard for the ride. We are following the Fly lady system for taming the chaos (can't have anyone over syndrome). We are at various levels and there is NO obligation to follow it to the letter (we've installed a bar in the naughty corner for hanging out and relaxing when needed)

4 levels for flying:
Baby steps - good for finding a routine in the tasks and getting over the perfection crippling effect
Baby steps and missions - yep basic routine and more in depth tasks
Baby steps, missions, and deep cleaning - can't clean clutter so don't consider this one if you need the next level
Flying combined with a decluttering system (kondo/unfuck etc etc) lets be honest fly lady is good for routine but not so quick with the decluttering results sometimes.

So ground rules, yes ground rules it is September:

  1. Newbies - we are a long running but friendly bunch. We try not to seem clicky but it doesn't always come across as some of us have known each other on here for a long time, just join the chatter and you'll soon be a fledgling
  2. There is NO wrong or right way of doing this, it is about adapting the system to suit your life circumstances, which will be different from someone else's.

Linkies will be posted daily and will appear shortly. Until then, jump on board, enjoy the ride and there are still hammocks, sand, comfy seats, cushions, blankies and a full English on the naughty corner bar it is a Saturday morning, breakfast is earnt

Hope Cagletini, Fox cub and Little Zoo all feel much better soon BearBearBear

A meh day. Decided I hate being back in town. DH away. DD grumpy with a cold. Car broke down. Friend cancelled on me. Couldn't get hair appt. Post office couldn't find parcel I went to collect. Forgot supermarket I wanted to get something specific from is closed on Thurs (I always forget this!). Everyone in office stressed. And so on. And it's nearly 8.30 pm here and almost dark Shock! Should have done something productive to make me feel better about the day but CBA! Depressing!!

foxessocks · 13/09/2018 19:33

cag sorry I must have missed that about the baby hope she feels better soon.

Ta da
Went to supermarket
Gave dc tinned pasta for dinner Blush
Tidied up toys and dc bedrooms
Gave ds more medicine (went really badly despite having dh to help me. Most ended up in his hair Sad)
Got dc to bed

Finally sat down, me and dh eating late tonight, dh cooking sausages bacon beans and chips.he obviously sensed I needed to slob in front of the TV with comfort food Grin

Spreadingcudweed · 13/09/2018 19:34

Gah! That was a cheery post wasn't it? Grin

Trying to add something positive ...um ...I walked the dog twice, emptied the dw, folded pants and towels and paired socks.

Nope! Still depressing! Grin

Thanks Foxes - all first world problems I'm ashamed to say - I'll get over myself in a few weeks! Grin

Spreadingcudweed · 13/09/2018 19:56

Hills Brew

HillsBesideTheSea · 13/09/2018 20:36

No SC Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz!
Am off to bed. Dosed up on pain killers. No progress tomo and the big guns come out and we will start the prescribe pain killer ladder. Then we can officially install the zombie corner in the naughty corner Grin
Tbf though resting today has kept the cough in check, just need to stop the incostal muscles from spasming with the rest of the back muscles and life will be good and gravy. Well as long as I can survive to see the physio and the physio is good enough to fix all the things. I hate having to find/see new people. Hair dressors/dentists/doctors/physio etc etc

Sounds awful Hills hope the pain meds improve things for you.

Stilllivinginazoo · 14/09/2018 07:16

Have "d"p descending in hour or so(straight from work) he's here til Tuesday lunch,so posts may be intermittent(or more likely ranting!!)

Spreadingcudweed · 14/09/2018 07:19

Zoo I was wide awake (as usual nowadays) from 4am; we should have had a chinwag!

Cagliostro · 14/09/2018 07:43

I actually slept fairly well. Cagletini went a fairly long time ⭐️

But I now feel even more sick (now don’t get any ideas, I already POAS just in case and no, just NO 😂)

SassitudeandSparkle · 14/09/2018 09:27

Morning all. Still proceeding at a slow pace, hopefully I will feel decent by lunchtime. DD still tired but did sleep better last night.

The tiny bit of flying I accomplished yesterday did include a bit of decluttering in DD's wardrobe. The amount of fancy dress stuff I pulled out of there that no longer fits, and there is still a fair bit in there

Cagliostro · 14/09/2018 09:50

The others have gone off for the first sports club of the new year. And it’s at the new park which is causing anxiety as I don’t know much about the parking (some parents come from quite far)

I also prefer to be there when new families come as I’m the one who organises it and I’m more social than DH 🙄😂 but I’m not well enough today, I’m gutted. So just sitting home with Cagletini trying not to puke. And hoping that the session (also a new format as it’s free/open with no need to book and people dropping in and out to try different things) isn’t a disaster.

Not a fun morning.

Stilllivinginazoo · 14/09/2018 10:08

Just had go get D's.heart racing/feel faint...
Bought him down to student services in wheelchair with first aider and we awaiting ringback from gp as school are expecting feedback on what's wrong
My life never goes as planned!!

Cagliostro · 14/09/2018 10:16

Oh no :( poor thing

I forget did you look into POTS at all? It often starts around adolescence and may run in families too and you have had similar symptoms. It may also be worth looking at EDS just to see if it rings any bells.

I’m trying to work out if I can risk eating anything. Thankfully baby has dozed off on me

SassitudeandSparkle · 14/09/2018 10:30

zoo I hope he's OK.
