Just to clarify my last post which I realise isn't very clear - it's fine to have the washing machine drain hose connecting to the plumbing under the sink, but it does look as though it may need to go up higher before it drops down and is connected.

Try putting detergent in the drum instead of the drawer.

Mummy15 · 13/09/2017 10:28

Pic off drain hose leaving the machine and a higher connection under sink also box states 80 ml for little soiling so i use 100ml i have always used same amount off detergent

The drain hose needs to drop down below the exit point. Check the manual. Otherwise it causes drain water to siphon back into the machine.

Check this. If everything matches the instructions and it's still a problem, speak to a plumber. It could be an issue with your drains causing a smell to build up in your pipes.

What do u mean drop down below the exit point ..where it leaves the washing machine at the top back drop it down to floor level like a u shape ?

basically you need to create a u-bend with the hose so that smelly drain water cannot flow back into the washing mashine.

Mummy15 · 13/09/2017 15:47

U mean same as this

Oh brilliant,at least you know what's wrong with it now! Top end is Miele will last you years and years, mine is fine after 16 years and never gone wrong once. If budget doesn't stretch to that I'd get a Bosch I think ,only because I have a Bosch oven and it's also been brilliant.

Mummy15 · 14/09/2017 19:22

Lots of Bosch's in your price bracket.

andbabymakesthree · 14/09/2017 19:53

Look at John Lewis own brand too as well as Bosch from them. Extra warranty

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 14/09/2017 19:59

My mum has a JL own brand, very pleased with it.
