missyB1 · 04/08/2017 13:52

My Henry the bastard hoover has given up the ghost after only two years . So I'm off to get a new one this weekend, dont want to make another mistake (Henry was vile), so i've been looking online at Miele cylinders, anyone got one? Would you recommend them?

I have the Miele complete C3 (bought from John Lewis). Totally worth it for me - much better suction than my previous vacuum cleaner (dyson).

RubyMyrtle · 04/08/2017 14:06

I've got a Miele classic C1 £100 John Lewis. The suction is amazing and compared with my Henry it's light & portable. The body of it is sturdy though not Henry standard. The pipe & accessories definitely not as good quality and the bags cost more. However I absolutely love it and wish I'd got one earlier. If I was getting another I'd go for a more expensive model.

angelgirls · 04/08/2017 14:22

150% YES!!!! They are brilliant, even the most basic model around £100 is brilliant

I have been a self employed cleaner for 10 years and have used a lot of hoovers

paap1975 · 04/08/2017 14:22

I love mine and it's really easy to turn etc

missyB1 · 04/08/2017 14:37

Right it's definitely a Miele then, lots of good reviews online. I like the look of the C3 but more money than I wanted to spend though, but I do want to get something I'm totally happy with this time!

I have the miele c1- is fantastic and great for heavy duty (I have 4 cats and 3 children!)

Fluffypinkpyjamas · 04/08/2017 14:56

My sister has one and she swears by it. Says it's the best she's ever had. She's obsessed by it in fact Grin

missyB1 · 04/08/2017 14:58

Ooooh I'm torn now, the C1 is quite a bit cheaper!

We have a Miele (cat and dog I think?). My cleaner told me to buy one as she swears by them and I obeyed 😂

CFranS · 04/08/2017 15:03

Absolutely love my Miele Ecoline (c3 I think?) - was fed up of having to replace rubbish vacuum cleaners... I've had this one for nearly 6 years and it's still fab!

DramaAlpaca · 04/08/2017 15:03

I have the C3 Cat & Dog & it's by far the best one I've ever had. I'd definitely recommend.

pitterpatterrain · 04/08/2017 15:04

We bought a Miele and think it is fab

Like PP then when our lovely cleaner came along she checked it out and told us it was the best make (and not to get anything else!)

Cakescakescakes · 04/08/2017 15:07

Get the cat and dog one even if you don't have keys. Mine dies last year and I replaced it with a cheaper alternative make and it is so rubbish in comparison. Miele all the way.

Cakescakescakes · 04/08/2017 15:07

Have pets

FlyMeToDunoon · 04/08/2017 15:07

Ive had two and would definitely recommend them. Don't know the model but was around £100 from argos.

Onynx · 04/08/2017 15:17

I've the new Miele bagless & it's fab! Also had the Cat & Fog which was amazing until my DH wrote it off (not Miele's fault!) SmileBoth are a million times better than my Dyson which I so happy so say 'bye to!

wordy17 · 04/08/2017 15:50

I have had my Miele gold edition for 10 years and it has never gone wrong. It's really powerful and I would deff recommend.

...I hope I'm not tempting fateConfused

missyB1 · 04/08/2017 16:13

I'm so glad to see the back of Henry Grin Miele here I come!

Missy you will love it!!!

rabbit123 · 05/08/2017 11:32

The cat & dog is only worth the extra money if you have carpets. It comes with separate nozzles for cleaning carpets and hard floors. If you have all hard floors or very little carpet, it's not worth it.

The C2 Cat & Dog is only £189 on Amazon

Allofaflumble · 06/08/2017 09:27

I love Miele vacuums. I had 3 but gave one to my son and his wife. I am a cleaner and am always happy to see one or recommend when a new one is required.

The Cat and Dog is good because they come with the beating attachment but I bought a used one off eBay for 16.00 or thereabouts. Also much better for stairs than Henry which is a faff because of his shape.

BuggerOffAndGoodDayToYou · 07/08/2017 19:46

I have a Miele cylinder and a Miele upright. Both pretty old now but they are MARVELLOUS. Incredibly reliable and very efficient.

missyB1 · 07/08/2017 22:11

Picked up my new Miele C3 today, love it!!!

e1y1 · 08/08/2017 04:00

Someone has to come along... AND ITS ME! Grin

No, I don't like my Miele that much at all, it's one of the upright ones though and all the threads on here where people rave about them usually have the cylinders, so I don't know if that makes a difference?

I can't use a cylinder though, so can't try a Miele one in any case.

I'm much happier with my Sebo.

Yorkshiremummyof4 · 08/08/2017 21:56

We've had a Miele Hoover for 12 years and it's still going strong. Ours has a motorised head with I think makes a big difference x
