Welcome one and all

I know all about flylady, think she is fab but at the moment feeling too emotionally crippled to cope with the emails, wearing shoes, the huge long threads, the pressure of doing it right.......

so no links to her please

I will get there at some point but for now

For whatever reason that you cry about your house or are scared to start cause there is tooo much to do.

Let s just whinge and try and do a little thing a day if we can

Hello all - the kids have recovered from the chicken pox, and we've had a lovely time this morning at a friends house, now come home to a house that's a tip as I haven't done any tidying this week.

TrinityRhino · 26/01/2007 12:40

glad to hear they are better belgo

belgo · 26/01/2007 12:43

sorry to hear the mouse situation isn't getting any better! I saw a wood louse on our floorboards yesterday, dh told me to kill it, I said 'no, why they don't do any harm', he said: 'yes they do, they eat the wood, that's why they are called woodlice'

TrinityRhino · 26/01/2007 13:14

just chucked away mouse no.7

poor little tiny wee mouse

belgo · 26/01/2007 13:16

TrinityRhino · 26/01/2007 13:17

nwgreenmum · 26/01/2007 13:36

Fridge done [blows on fingernails and polishes them on jumper].
Have eated fried egg sandwich (I really need to go shopping)
And I have just remembered that DS1 is at school for an extra hour today, so I have high (unfounded) hopes for bursts of effort this PM.

TrinityRhino · 26/01/2007 13:37

well done about the fridge, I'm waiting for my mum to come, she'll do it when she visits

d2 is actually being really easy to look after today so I should be getting more down....but I'm not

Shopping finally arrived, dc gone to grans so I have cleaned out cupboards and threw out old tins, pasta and various packeted stuff lurking at the back of the food cupboards.

Tbh I am surprised the food hadn't sprouted legs and walked out of the cupbaord itself by now......

ItsMeMellowma · 26/01/2007 14:00

Forgot to mentioned my mum came up around 10.30 ish to visit for an hour...she said to me:

Her: Why is your house always like this?
Me: Like What?
Her: Noisy & messy
Me: Mum, all I do is clean!!
Her: Yes its still messy isn;t it?
Me: > Yes!! -- starts tidying
Her: Oh I didn't mean for you to start cleaning again!
Me: > Its tidy when I have no children here.........

TrinityRhino · 26/01/2007 14:05

aren't mums wonderful

sounds like she has forgotten how much mess kids make.....constantly

well done for clearing out your cupboards

I went5 upstairs and picked up some of the washing on my bedroom floor and out it in the washer, not much but a start

OP posts:
ItsMeMellowma · 26/01/2007 14:07

I think I may have to cave in on the tumble drier situation too...How on earth do people get washing dry without one??

I think you be right about my mum, her house is beautiful and spotless but it was not like that when we all stayed at home...

prettymum · 26/01/2007 14:23

well ive put the washing on.

orded indian take away- mmmm and did grocery shopping online

now need to change ds bum which stinks!

waiting for a lady to come and collect a bag ful of dds baby clothes

nwgreenmum · 26/01/2007 14:48

Mellow - I didn't have a drier for ages and it was really hard (and also made some of the paper above my radiators bubble up from all the steam from drying clothes). I do have one now, but dry everything on airers / on the line first, and just put them in the tumble for the last 5-10 mins (saves on ironing too )

ItsMeMellowma · 26/01/2007 15:17

I always feel like a bit of a washing-virgin. I never know when to start haging it out again, I usually wait until I see my neighbour hanging out her washing then...wait a few days and copy her

Sooo is it okay to hang out washing in January, on the okay days, obviously?

nwgreenmum · 26/01/2007 15:28

Yes - hang away. I live by the bbc weather site
Sometimes when it is really cold things do get rather stiff, but aparently freezing them on the line is really good for softening real nappies.

ItsMeMellowma · 26/01/2007 15:33

Thanks...from tomorrow I shall start hanging out again, my neighbour may start copying me for the first time in 7 yeats

JillybeansNW · 27/01/2007 00:19

OK, just changed my name and wanna see if it worked

Was NWGreen b4

TrinityRhino · 27/01/2007 08:36

god I need help

OP posts:
purplemonkeydishwasher · 27/01/2007 11:43

Morning all

Trinity - at least you have the excus eof being very pregnant to not clean up the yogurt. I'm just too lazy. (the most commonly used phrase in my house is - the dog will get it!)

how is everyone today?

things here are good. had a good day in edinburgh yesterday. and got my stuff mailed off. had a chinese last night so kitchen mess in minimal.

we have to move into MIL's house for a couple of weeks because she's going away and the kennel where she usually puts her dogs isn't open. which means 2 weeks of 3 dogs with muddy paws. No movies channels and no sky plus.
thank god she's got internet or I would just curl up and DIE!!

Had our first no boobie night with DS. so we're all a bit tired. although it wasn't as bad as i was expecting. there was still a lot of crying and screaming though! I just keep saying to myself "it'll be worth it in the end it'll be worth it in the end it'll be worth it in the end..."

TrinityRhino · 27/01/2007 16:40

well done for the 'no boobie' night purple

actually done really well today

I found some superhuman energy burst and took boith the girls to the school car park near us to ride bikes (well dd1 her biks and dd2 her 4 wheeled sccoter)

they loved it, was a bit hectic cause car park has a gate so I had to lift the girls and the bikes over it and then climb over it myself(which would have looked very funny if anyone had seen)

then we went to a little cafe for lunch. I feel better that I have done something woth them instead of just being in the house. And then MIL came over and we hoovered and washed the windows and tidied and I had a showert

feeling good, still alot of BH and quite painful generally but feeling good

then I asked DH to do the dishwasher so it doesn't look too bad aroubd her at the mo....'cept the floor in the kitchen still hasn't been done never mind, there is alwasy tomorrow

OP posts:
purplemonkeydishwasher · 27/01/2007 17:33

SOunds like you had a very good day trinity!

we did pretty well here too.

we walked to the grocery store. came home ate lunch then both of us pitched in and cleaned up.
so the main floor is clean (except for the sitting room but we hardly ever use it - the TV is in the living room!)

MIL came for dinner and now she's away to pack for her trip.

DS refused to nap today so he is currently out for the count. Balls. you just know he's going to be us all night asking for 'guppin' now!!

oh well, DH and I can have a few minutes to relax and enjoy each others company!

Have a good sunday everyone!!

sorkycake · 27/01/2007 17:36

Trinity you're due soon aren't you? How's everything going?

TrinityRhino · 27/01/2007 21:25

hi, yes sorky, due next saturday

doing ok, feel like a whale
been having some pretty painful BH and quite achey around the bottom of my bump but nothing happening properly yet. I think I have resigned myself to being late as dd2 wasn't thinking of moving at all when I was induced a week late

ho hum, never mind
actually I DO mind, I want to have my little baby and I'm really uncomfortabel
