Asleep - hang on in there, you're amongst friends. I've not had PND, but have had bad depression for a few years now.

Am currently doing okay, so I'm able to give you lots of empathy from here! Speaking very personally, my life-saver is painting - I took up my water colours again (after a break of 20+ years since A level Art), I painted when I was in the Priory, I joined a life drawing class, and now I've applied to do an Access Course in Art & Design at Farnham Art College prior to doing a Fine Arts Degree!! I never would have predicted any of this...

It is great that you can read, and that you want to paint too. Enjoy them as much as you can but don't beat yourself if there are days when you don't feel up to it.

ParanoidAndroid · 08/01/2007 20:08

Ruby - I'm glad you've had a day at home today, I hope it was reasonably relaxing. I agree re the decluttering - when you aren't feeling sentimental about stuff, it's amazing what you can clear out!

I'm selling masses of clothes etc on Ebay at the moment, it's great! And actually it's getting quite addictive, roaming around the house seeing what else I can get rid of. I've told the children if they're not well behaved, then they're up for sale. As for DH, well frankly, I'd give him away at the moment.

I really need tobe in the right mood, I can chuck loads if not feeling emotional, deadlines like MIL visiting can help too as I panic and just start chucking everything in a binbag, she always turns up early and catches me in the act too

thanks for the support, i very much appreciate it DP and i have both been through depression a few years ago.

paranoidandroid, good luck with selling! i've sold so much stuff in the last couple of years. also on amazon marketplace. it's surprising sometimes what people are after.

also glad to see JARM back!

Well, I ve done alright today with my first day of flying. I de cluttered the medicine cabinet, two loads of laundry and now just have to shine sink before before bed.

thewoodlandfairy · 08/01/2007 21:30

MAke tea, girls in PJ's then story and bed for DD2. HAnd over DD1 to dh. Cycle to yoga. Just got back, piece of toast and slice of cold xmas pud, better try to do a job shine sink? cutlery drawer? School bags first i think - off to the kitchen now.

Skribble · 08/01/2007 21:31

Sounds like a good start newbies .

funnypeculiar · 08/01/2007 21:32

Helloooo everyone. Started flying about 3 months ago, then got sidetracked. My NY resolution was to start again ... & finally managed it today!! Thank the good lordy I fell in on a kitchen week not a main bedroom week, though ....

Sink shiny, 3 drawers decluttered (actually not too bad from last time I did them 3 months ago ). Please everyone give me a kick every now & then so I don't fall off the wagon this time...

Skribble · 08/01/2007 21:36

I am back on the wagon too.

I managed to clear out one drawer, made a huge pot of soup, and did a load of washing, thats about it, but hey babysteps and all that .

tortoise · 08/01/2007 21:41

Newbies making a good start.
I need to sort the kitchen out from teatime but can't find the energy to go do it!

DD1 back to pre-school in the morning so early start for me.

tortoise · 08/01/2007 22:39

DW loaded and worktop wiped down at last.
Front room is a bit messy but only toys and it can stay like that.

JustIvor · 08/01/2007 23:19

Have just finished doing more jobs i.e. putting washing on airer, watering the houseplants, doing the washing up, sorting out the recycling, putting away the ironing board etc etc. Now it is time for bed and I'll be up again at 7am to do it all over again! My cold is definitely much better though as on the w/e I could barely think about what needed doing, let alone actually doing it.

Well done to all the newbies and not-so-newbies. And if anyone knows what happened in the second half of Heartbeat last night, could they post on my thread in the tv topic, please?

Jelley · 09/01/2007 07:44
