Woo hoo! It's the second Bullet Journal thread! For the benefit of newbies - Bullet Journal is a brilliant way to organise your whole life in a lovely notebook. Perfect for anyone who has tried every app and every scheduling system but just can't seem to get on top of things. Also perfect for lovers of beautiful stationery and especially for people who like lists!

Sooo - get out your fineliners and your washi tape! Stroke your Leuchtturms! And get all that stuff that's whizzing round in your head out onto paper instead!

Oh that is very pleasing indeed. Very pleasing. I can go to sleep now Grin

Babieseverywhere · 14/03/2016 22:48

LOL, Glad I could help. :) Off to bed myself.

SoupDragon · 14/03/2016 22:58

The original IKEA link works for me! How odd.

AtiaoftheJulii · 14/03/2016 23:17

I've added a "letters from school" collection after realising I forgot to send back a consent form for dd3 today!

FrozenAteMyDaughter · 15/03/2016 00:32

That looks great Babies. Might have to add it to the IKEA list. Our hall could certainly use some organisation! Night all.

Like the organiser shelves, but my hallway's too narrow! Might think about some shallower shelves on the wall above the radiator, though...

I've been adding 'Check tracker' to my daily logs to remind myself to fill in the tracker. It's not so good if you keep forgetting to do the things, but if it's just remembering to fill it in that's the problem I find this works for me.

mercifulTehlu · 15/03/2016 13:19

Love the organised hallway storage, Babies! I've got quite a big hallway and some decent storage in there, but your post has made me realise that I'm not really using it to its full potential! I've currently got all our dvd collection taking up a lot of it, which is not necessarily the most useful thing to have in the hall. I like your 'seasonal box' idea.

My papelotte strap and Lamy rollerball have arrived. So far the strap is not too annoying and it is handy having more pens easily to hand.

Vistaverde · 16/03/2016 09:13

Frozen I like the strap and how organised it keeps your pens. Do you have the link of where you got it from?, thanks

FrozenAteMyDaughter · 16/03/2016 10:33

Thanks Vistaverde - it does help with keeping a few pens together for easy access.

I got it here: www.bureaudirect.co.uk/papelote-notebook-strap/p3685. Not too many other places seem to sell them. There is a 10% off code for first time buyers - "CUTE" - that worked when I bought mine last week.

Vistaverde · 16/03/2016 11:08

Thank you. I will save the link until I treat myself to a leuchtturm (currently using an old notebook I had at home).

mercifulTehlu · 16/03/2016 13:18

Writing my household tasks 'to do list' as a weekly tick list has been a bit of a revelation. I simply don't have as many tasks to do as I thought Grin. This is very tedious and idiotic, so feel free to go Confused and ignore, but I think it's because I used to think of housework 'per room' rather than 'per task'and divide it up like that, rather than just have 'hoover', 'dust', 'change beds', 'hard floors' etc. Anyway, must go and actually do some of that...

iggi999 · 16/03/2016 13:21

It's the endless tidying up though! Would be interested in seeing your list, if it's finished and you don't mind.
I need one that is a realistic list, not an idealistic I-will-clean-the-skirting-boards-weekly type thing, as I won't.

mercifulTehlu · 16/03/2016 14:16

I have a page in my BuJo that is a kind of household schedule of daily, weekly and monthly tasks and then for the weekly ones I have a tick list at the end of each week's journal so that I make sure I've done those tasks by the end of each week (but it doesn't matter what day I do them). I don't write in ones I have to do every day, as it's unnecessarily time-consuming and anyway I don't tend to forget those. But I look at the schedule page occasionally to remind me.

I hate the garden poo sweep...

Jemster · 16/03/2016 18:14

Does anyone use their bujo for managing finances. I have a spreadsheet but our old laptop takes so long to fire up I hardly ever look at it!
Our finances are not in a good way as neither me or dh have really taken control of them. I want to change this so any tips for making things easier in the bujo would be appreciated.

Vistaverde · 16/03/2016 19:12

merciful Thanks for sharing. I am going to try doing something similar. I think it would work better for me than a habit tracker would.

Jmester I'm still using a spreadsheet for finances but would be interested to also hear if anyone is doing this successfully in their bujo.

Iggi999 · 16/03/2016 19:31

Ooh, thank you. Now worrying that I don't sweep the garden for poo. Won't nature take care of its own poo? Or do you have dcs who poo in the garden?
Think I might go and look at my journal now, this new font is annoying me.

mercifulTehlu · 16/03/2016 19:48

No, I have a large dog who poos in the garden! The large piles of poo he creates definitely do not take care of themselves, sadly.

I've tried giving my spaniel a roll of bags and sending him off to "sweep" the lawn but it never happens :( I should write it in his journal....
