What's the best dishwasher to buy at the moment?

We usually get Bosch appliances, but our last dishwasher was a Miele - we've had endless problems with it, though.

Anyone else looking for a new one atm?

This thread is old now, but if you’ve landed here looking for up-to-date advice on choosing a new appliance, we’ve recently refreshed our best dishwasher guide with plenty of high-quality, Mumsnetter-approved models, including Bosch. We hope it’s helpful Smile

We have all Miele - washer, dryer, dishwasher, cooker and fridge. The washer & dryer are brilliant and I wouldn't part with them, but I don't think the dishwasher is any better than the Bosch we had before it, which was half the price and had better baskets.

I dont think our Miele washes better than the Bosch did but it fits more dishes in and costs less. to run.

Bosch Loggix or Serie 8 would be as good.

I'm currently looking at this:

ao.com/product/sms65e32gb-bosch-exxcel-standard-dishwasher-white-27073-23.aspx

I could do with really quick washes. I've searched the MN archives; account of reliability of Bosches seem variable. Confused

I have rather hated our Miele.

That ones got a basket though.

Siemens dishwashers are very good. Our first lasted 15 years and our second is going strong 2 years in.

MollyAir · 23/08/2015 19:47

I want a basket! I hate the fecking Miele cutlery tray!

We've had our Bosch dishwasher for 16 years now, never had anything go wrong with it. Now waiting for it to break tomorrow because I've said that...

MollyAir · 23/08/2015 19:55

Thanks, Gracie, our other Bosch appliances have been great. Allow me to un-jinx your dishwasher...there...

Our last Bosch dishwasher died after 13 years of being used at least once a day, every day (except holidays) as it was a slimline.

We've just replaced it with the exact same Bosch. Very happy with it.

MollyAir · 23/08/2015 20:33

Thanks, that's reassuring. Thanks, Creme, for the Siemens suggestion too.

We've had Bosch, and now we have an expensive Miele one.
I miss the Bosch one! The Miele is not as big internally and bits have broken off already. I have other Miele appliances which are good, but I don't rate their dishwashers

rabbit123 · 23/08/2015 20:43

ChampagneAndCrisps I agree completely! The washer, dryer and cooker are fantastic, but the fridge and dishwasher in hindsight were a waste of money

MollyAir · 23/08/2015 21:17

Bosch looks increasingly likely, then.

Had both miele and bosch, bosch lasted forever, nothing but problems with mine and my mothers miele appliances, dishwashers, steam ovens, washers, coffee machines all had problems.
Bosch dishwasher would be my choice.

MollyAir · 03/09/2015 14:57

Just as well...got my new Bosch...all good so far. Thanks for all comments. Thanks V. glad to see the back of the Miele.

if you like baskets and haven't got them, you can buy them as accessories from the makers or on ebay for a modest price. The ebay ones may be narrower to fit between the plate prongs, but I expect your prongs fold down.

MollyAir · 03/09/2015 16:26

Thanks, Piglet, I did see that in the Miele booklet, which became all too well-thumbed. Never got round to it. Blush
