So what do you do that you think others should know about?

I'm trying to think of any of my own but cant right now. Will add if i do.

I put my sunglasses in the dishwasher, and lego, and the drawer of the washing machine and the front bit of fridge water dispenser.

TheRealNightsWatch · 23/06/2015 19:48

SurlyCue I do wear Pjs only once!

DontCallMeBaby · 23/06/2015 19:50

I'm another hoover-duster. :) I'd quite like to hoover the cats - I have been known to use a sticky roller on them.

I used to use Tesco value baby wipes on the horrible greasy-dust collecting stainless steel cooker hood we had in our previous house. Cut through the grease like nothing else. I wouldn't put them within 10ft of a baby's bum, goodness knows what they're soaked in.

2 really simple ones here.

Clean the bathroom when it's steamy - so much easier.

And do aal messy work in the ktchen on the sufrace over the diswasher (bread cutting, flour sieving, cheese grating). All the teeny bits lon the suface can just be swiped down into the dishwasher. FTW

Bumpasaurusmumma using a squeegee on gloss kitchen units is genius, I'll give that a try!

I have a cleaning box with handle that has cleaning products, dusters, cloths etc in that I can just cart round from room to room with me, and in it I have an old fashioned clothes brush- it's really good for cleaning fabric type lampshades (when I try to use the hoover attachment on them, I get in a muddle and usually end up sucking everything else in close proximity).

Dh lint rollers the cat. I don't approve Grin He's currently working on designing a cat flap with lint rollers on the side like a car wash to lint the poor moggy when she comes in the house. I hope this is a joke!

Lunch bags can go in the washing machine. No more fighting with yoghurt gunk in the corners

Lunch bags can't go in the machine often. They start to fall apart in the padded layers. I did mine once a week for a while and regretted it. Once a month or once a half term kills them only by the time the child has gone off the character on the front Grin

Hoover every surface - then the floor.

bicarb and vinegar down plugholes.

Vinegar on a kitchen towel placed over limescale encrusted taps/plug holes overnight then just rinse off in the morning.

Wetwipes to clean dashboard in car.

Wetwipes to clean and moisturise leather sofa.

Im about to try the bicarb and bleach on grout and mouldy window sills. Fingers crossed

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 24/06/2015 11:39

I only wear nightwear once too, anyone who doesn't I suspect isn't over 40Wink

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 24/06/2015 11:40

I just used to wash lunch bags in the sink under a running tap.

SurlyCue · 24/06/2015 14:39

Wetwipes to clean and moisturise leather sofa.

What sort of wipes do you use? I worry about wipes actually drying out as opposed to moisturising the leather.

Lord Sheraton leather wipes are really good.

But why ? I think I'm doing well if I get the yard broom out for the back garden.

SilverNightFairy · 24/06/2015 15:08

Fine! Am a slattern, so have no tips but reading thread in the event I go all cleanado suddenly.

TheReturnoftheSmartArse · 24/06/2015 15:21

I hoover the front path, right down to the gate, every week. If I used a broom, I'd then have to scoop up the gubbins and I can't be arsed with that.

Not sure what my neighbours think of me (and don't care!).

prepperpig · 24/06/2015 15:21

The hoovering of the patio was only once. It was the middle of summer, very dry and there was dust everywhere. It's an enclosed space with walls on three sides and every time I swept it a big cloud of dust went everywhere. So the hoover came out and dealt with the problem.

Superlovely · 24/06/2015 15:24

DH washed DD's recorder in the dishwasher. It was so shiny! Does that count?
