sahmtotwo Sorry your not well.
I have a cold again!
Yes saw the thread but didn't bother reading it.(your link doesn't work btw). We know its helping us. It was easy to do my bathroom today because it wasn't cluttered or been left for ages!
Think we need a bit of a boost though. I feel We are not doing as well as when we started!

sahmtotwo · 02/11/2006 19:22

Thanks you for that.

My house has suffered a bit in the last week or so but I know that it won't take much to bring it up together. It will take months to get it how I would really like it but at least it is liveable.

I think the weather is affecting a lot of us. I always feel more down in the winter months. S.A.D I think it's called.

For those who haven't seen the thread it starts on us about half way down.

QuootiePieBANGERSandMash · 02/11/2006 19:38

Im all for a laugh, but, some of that was below the belt. Its not like all our posts are "oooh, my window is soooo clean" etc. Everyone has there own sort of little group on here, whether it be post natal, ante natal, style... We chat on here and chat about everything. I dont give two fucking shits if they take this piss out of me because im proud of myself that i take pride in my house. This time last year I was bedridden with depression and did nothing - I couldnt bring myself to do the smallest things. Yeah, FLYlady is cheesy and abit silly, but we all laugh at that. But, its a good system and I dont give a flying fuck because its helped me no end. Knwoing ive gone "ok, today ill do this" and get it done, might be small in some narrow minded peoples eyes, but, it means alot to me. Thats really fucked me off.

QuootiePieBANGERSandMash · 02/11/2006 19:39

sahm, lightboxes are supposed to be good for SAD.

tortoisestrappedtoarocket · 02/11/2006 19:46

Ok maybe i haven't seen the thread and i can't get it to copy and paste. Which one is it?

thehazelnutthatdoesnotgoBANG · 02/11/2006 19:47

I bathed and got the DC to bed tonight.

Hope you feel better soon sahm. If you feel like I did than you dont even want to move. Just going to the loo felt like doing doing a school run on a bad day
Hope you cold does not come to much either tortoise and you feel better soon.

I will put my thinking cap on for a xmas names for you.

I have yet another person asking to come on my MSN that I dont know.

QuootiePieBANGERSandMash · 02/11/2006 19:49

here Tort

tortoisestrappedtoarocket · 02/11/2006 19:54

Thanks Q. Not sure i understand though. Seemed very jokey on that one. Didn't see any bad comments.

Rhubarb · 02/11/2006 20:41

They were jokey comments that's why! Ok, you take this FLY thing very seriously and each to their own and all that, but please have a sense of humour too! We didn't slag anyone off, we weren't cruel I don't think. If you can't have a laugh about yourself then what? I'm sorry if we offended, that was not the intention, it was light-hearted fun.

SusiSkelletonInTheCloset · 02/11/2006 20:53

hope all the ill ladies are feeling better by now?! 'hot chocolate, feet up and lots of cookies' - order from your doctor

and if they don't 'get' the idea of flying their loss! we know it helps us and that's all that counts! - we know we can't take lady fly too serious

aaaaanywho - not done much today.
althoooouuuugh my washing basket was EMPTY at one point - lasted whole 7 minutes

tortoisestrappedtoarocket · 02/11/2006 20:58

Please don't tell me to eat cookies! I'm trying really hard to not nibble on crap in the evenings! Im just drinking water.

QuootiePieBANGERSandMash · 02/11/2006 21:05

I guess because ive seen about 3 threads like that in a week... Dont like being the butt of jokes!

SUSIntoSpaceandback · 02/11/2006 21:05

ohh very flylady like!! good girl

IvortheEngine · 02/11/2006 21:23

I've been working some extra hours this week to make up for taking time off on Mon and yesterday as dd wasn't well, so everything has gone to pot. I must iron at least one shirt now as I can't be bothered to walk upstairs and check the wardrobe and dh (should be home soon - been away for days) will need one for tomorrow. I will be on tomorrow's thread, I'm sure. See you then.

thehazelnutthatdoesnotgoBANG · 02/11/2006 21:25

Susi, I am feel lots better but still not great. On the mead though

Today I had big veg soup for lunch. The first thing I have really eaten in 4 days.

Then just a few minutes ago I had hot apple cake and custard. (mum`s cooking) mmmmmmmmm very yummy

I must be on the mead

As for those who want to makes jokes about other threads,.......... well should look at the thread they started the moan on.

"Nothing better to talk about so we will talk about another." They should be call those threads

tortoisestrappedtoarocket · 02/11/2006 22:09

I'm cold! And the heating is on. Only low but better than nothing.
Have done lots less than i wanted to do today. DS's here tomorrow so probably won't get much done!

IvortheEngine · 03/11/2006 08:37

Re: Taking the mick out of these Fly threads; I clicked on the link and reading the thread through, it did appear as though the Fly threads were being made fun of by several posters. If they'd meant to be funny then it didn't come across that way. They need to convey much more clearly that each post was a light hearted comment as it could easily be read cold as bitchiness. I don't mean Rhubarb as I know her well enough to expect that she is being light hearted and maybe that's the problem, that I don't know the other posters.

On a more serious note, I had ME for several years and if these threads had been around then, I feel certain that they'd have been saying "Hey, Ivor, how are you today?" daily which would have meant so much to me when it used to take me until lunchtime to get up, have breakfast, shower and dress. Not that it's anything to do with Flying, but they are a nice bunch and I hated hated hated being unwell, disabled in fact, off sick and not able to do things. I could do a bit and remember all too well having only the energy to fill the washing up bowl but not any more so to actually do the washing up, or to put up the iron and switch it on but not to do the ironing. It was horrible, and I feel that these Fly threads could easily have been a great support to me; maybe by providing an offshoot thread linked to the Fly one.

So....if you don't understand the Fly threads, that's fine, just leave them alone is my advice.

IvortheEngine · 03/11/2006 08:40

If anyone takes the mick in future, please feel free other Fly thread posters to copy and paste my last post in response. If they still don't understand or agree that it's helping us and doing no harm to anyone else, then I'd just ignore them in future.

pippah · 03/11/2006 08:57

Good post Ivor. I have only just started this FLying thang, but I had PND with DS1 and am due in 3 weeks with DS2. I have been quite anxious this pregnancy about the same thing coming back and have found that putting little babysteps in place lets me feel more in control as they are very achievable. If other people find these things come naturally then fine, but not all of us do!

IvortheEngine · 03/11/2006 10:13

Thanks pippah.
