jasnDISMemBERED · 23/10/2006 15:22

hazelnut, sorry your ex is still making things more difficult for you.
TV for the kids and lots of rest for you sounds like the best idea.

tortoise - You are busy today!

Washing is all hung up, and the house looks good.
I'm considering a day out {Tower of London} tomorrow, but will decide later once I've spoken to my friend.

It's bin day today, but they haven't been yet, and my bin is full, with maggots in it {YUK}. I did clean it out a fortnight ago, too. Hope they come soon, or I'll be out in the dark cleaning it later.

Me? Busy? Noooo! Only picked up washing into piles and put away! Been sat here most of the time inbetween. So no other jobs have been done.
Eeew @ Maggots. We have just recently got food bins and wheelie bin.Guess in the summer the food bin will be a problem.Wheelie bin should be as will have no food in it!

tortUREoisechamber · 23/10/2006 15:26

That should say should be ok.

batinshoes · 23/10/2006 15:26

lol @ apronscreams. we have a 'currency pot' and there is hell to pay if i find foreign money anywhere else

Hazelnut - xp issues sound awful. hope sorted soon.

tort - I make sure dry washing goes in a basket ready to take up each night when DD has her bath. While it is running I sort into whose clothes they are and then put them away. Done daily it doesnt build up....

Pippah - I am due in 7 weeks

I have just unpacked the tesco delivery so that's my bit for the afternoon

ludaloo · 23/10/2006 15:27

bedroom done...phew!

PinkTulips · 23/10/2006 16:04

HN, sorry your ex is giving you grief, i very much doubt he could get the kids though so try not to let him get to you and have a nice relaxing day for yourself

i've been very good, tackled the junk under the bed dusted, hoovered and sorted out the wardrobe, put away all the big baggy maternity stuff and put in any clothes that fit me now.... not many but hopefully i'll fit into more of my old favs soon! sitting down feeding ds while i have a cuppa now and then have to do dinner before the mob revolts.

lovely sunny day too so getting loads of washing dry for a change.

tortUREoisechamber · 23/10/2006 16:07

Lucky you tulips! I put washing out and had to grab it in when it rained just now. its been out all day and still wet. Looks like more electric wastage on drying!

PinkTulips · 23/10/2006 16:07

fabulous, just got thrown up on

tortUREoisechamber · 23/10/2006 16:08

Nice!!
More washing!

PinkTulips · 23/10/2006 16:08

can't afford to run our drier as the landlord cheaped out on it and it eats elec

batinshoes · 23/10/2006 16:08

miserable weather here too. am on hunt for a dishwasher as decided that when baby 2 comes it will be unbearable.

have hoovered downstairs

dd's tummy seems to be getting better

batinshoes · 23/10/2006 16:09

that should have read tumble dryer not dishwasher. doh

PinkTulips · 23/10/2006 16:09

the wash basket is overflowing as it is! had to laugh when i read flylady's 'put on one load every day' if i put on les than 3 a day i'm falling behind!

tortUREoisechamber · 23/10/2006 16:11

Mine is in contol at the moment but is costing a fortune to dry either in electric in tumble dryer or in gas for the heating or it just doesn't dry.

theHAUNTEDhazelnut · 23/10/2006 16:12

XP! has been going on for so long now I cant see it ever stopping

Maggots yuk. If I see them I get the bleach and cover them with that Its normally small dead animals (birds etc) in the garden that I see with maggots.
I don't have any trouble with the food bin tortoise. once the lid is locked the flies cant get in there. it goes here once a week. (if I remember to put it out before they come )

I try and put the dry washing away when I sort out the cloths for the next day. Some of the time the new clean cloths come for the pile that I need to put away anyway. I have 3 baskets for dry cloths. Dsss DDs and mine. and I put each of them in each bedroom who cloths they are. HTH you tortoise.

Going to get Dc tea now and run them a bath. its going to be bath, tea and bed for them tonight, DS1 is showing signs that hes very tired. Fingers crossed he stays asleep in the morning.

tortUREoisechamber · 23/10/2006 16:16

HN I keep the lid down and locked on the food bin but so far have had masses of tiny flies come out when the lids opened and also a slug inside! So not a great tight fitting lid to them!
I don't think i will ever get the hang of putting washing away! Maybe basket at the bottom of the stairs and put away as the DD's go to sleep would work.

theHAUNTEDhazelnut · 23/10/2006 16:18

Bat, glad to see that DD tum is getting better

Do you have a dishwasher or was that mistake was right as you want one of them too?

Its grey and wet here again today.

pippah · 23/10/2006 16:21

Tort and Batin - I am due in 5 weeks. DS1 was 2 days early, so I'd love a repeat, but you just don't know do you?

Batin - I second the putting clothes away whilst child is in bath idea. DS is only 18m so can't be left unsupervised so, if DH is not on a late shift, he and I divide and conquer - he does the bath while I run round putting the clothes away, then I get him to help me get DS dressed as I am so huge now I can't chase him round the bed to get his PJs on! If I put away clothes in the day, I can sometimes get DS to 'help' me....

ludaloo · 23/10/2006 16:25

wet here too
I have done quite a bit today...can't see how, as it feels like I've sat here all day!!!!!!!

I have...done 3 loads of washing..fourth one in
Put three piles of washing away
Hoovered upstairs
Blitzed my bedroom
Dusted evrywhere (finally!!)
Tidied comp table out
Cleaned fire out and made a new one
Cleaned downstairs loo
Just finished hoovering downstairs

Must go and do tea now!

Thanks to everyone for being my motivation!!!!!

asleep · 23/10/2006 16:28

hi all
an ok day here. will do 15 minutes in the bedroom tonight.
btw, do any of you still read/get the flylady e-mails?

tortUREoisechamber · 23/10/2006 16:36

I stopped the Emails last week!

jasnDISMemBERED · 23/10/2006 16:45

I changed to the daily digest, but still delete without reading, just haven't got round to cancelling.

I like the secular fl emails, but they run to a different routine, and I'm not organised to combine routines yet.

OP posts:
batinshoes · 23/10/2006 16:50

I stopped getting the emails last week. I like the secular ones but often just delete them too

HH i have a dishwasher, thankfully. Just a tumbledrier i'm after.

peegeeweegeeWITCH · 23/10/2006 17:00

Blimmin' Heck lulaloo - you have done loads!!!

Bat - we have the same laundry-putting-away-system....

Not done too badly today after the slow start, decluttered master bedroom and cleaned the windows in there, done 2 loads of laundry - one put away already. Hoovered downstairs. Swished and swiped downstairs. Weekly groceries bought and put away. I then spent a few hours in the garden with the kids - they played whilst I laid some more bricks on our new patio... (am getting quite a hang of this sharpsand, level, lay brick thing...)

Came in due to rain, had shower, bathed grubby children and are now all snuggled up on the sofa with citv...(and I am having a cuppa...)

Will get on with tea soon, and then ds is having a sleepover at nannies house. His first ever night away from home (he is 7!) in preparation for a 2 night residential school trip in Feb...
