Smelly socks in the wash bin..........

Does anyone keep an air freshener in the wash bin?? DP's socks stink after work and make the whole bedroom stink - I haven't got enough to do a load every night when he comes home so is there anything that neutralises it?!

sorry Zcat, my own problem is not dh's socks but dd(14) leaving her socks on the sofa and then going to bed. I have confiscated soooooo many pairs of her socks in an attempt to make her take them away. NOTHING WORKS!

Straight in the machine I think. My DH's don't smell too bad but he wears black sports style socks most of the time and when he takes them off he rubs off all the horrible black sock fluff from his feet onto the carpet .

DS2 does that too, dolally - he is 13 - only he does it several times a day, esp at weekends. He won't keep socks on in the house, but having taken one pair off he forgets and gets another pair to go out in, then takes them off, etc etc - some days there are 4-5 pairs strewn around he sofa (And SHOES!!! ) (good job he's nice with it )

zc, he couldn't have athlete's foot, could he? The only time we have stinky socks is when someone has athlete's foot.
