Ironing mishap

I dropped the Iron on the carpet yesterday, though the plate looked clean afterwards with no carpet residue. However, I started Ironing my dd's trousers and yes you've guessed it...now they are are covered in bit's of Ironed on carpet.

She had only worn them once. Is there any way to get it out?

oh dear - is it sticky or fluffy? can get sticky stuff remover from supermarkets ..could you try washing them again, maybe soaking them first????? what a PITA!

No It's not sticky, it's more crusty/dried. I'll have a look for something when i next go to tesco's and soak them in vanish in the meantime.
