Here we go again- a new month to whip our houses into shape!

If you're suffering from CHAOS (can't have anyone over syndrome) and STUFF (something that undermines family fun) then you need Flylady.

Don't sign up for emails on the Flylady website as you'll be inundated. Everything you need to know will be posted in the thread on a daily basis.

Depending on the stage you're at with FL you'll be:

  1. Starting or repeating FL's babysteps.
  1. Repeating babysteps + decluttering for 15 minutes per day in current zone.
  1. Reinforce babysteps + daily missions if you'vefinished decluttering.

4.Number 3 and detailed cleaning anyone here yet??!

Bear in mind:

  1. You're never behind!
  1. No perfectionism allowed.
  1. Your house did not get into a mess overnight, it won't get tidy overnight.

Some of the fledglings have been chatting and flying on MN for 10 years. I still think of myself as a newbie sometimes (even though I've been here for 2+ years!). Everyone's welcome! Old timers, newbies and lurkers alike, come and share your ta das, to dos and a whole lot more Smile

Sorry for lack of OP links - am posting on the laptop that time forgot and am just keeping my fx that the OP posts!

Will be back on August 31st (pretty late probably!) with links for the 1st September.

Engels Yep. It hurts quite a bit, but have some ibuprofen in my system, so that takes the edge off. Honestly, I'm just so relieved it's finally done. Poor dentist though - trying to be very professional, teling me what he is doing. "no no really I DON'T want to know!!" Grin I asked the nurse/assistant to please just chat to me while he was doing it as it helped distract me a bit so I didn't get so nervous. So she was telling me all about her dd's halloween plans. Grin They were all very lovely and patient with my nervousness.

Sootball · 10/09/2014 20:01

Can't stop bit I alternated paracetamol and ibuprofen after a very nasty tooth operation

Get well soon

Ans REST

NickNacks · 10/09/2014 20:54

Oh I feel for you Alice I'm almost two weeks post tooth out and though I don't seemed to have suffered as much as you, it's not a pleasant experience. Mine was because of a reoccurring abscess so felt much better now it's out. Feel better soon Thanks

My apologies for absence this week, I've had problems bookmarking on my phone and it's made keeping up with the thread really difficult.

How are you feeling bitchy?

I've had a good sort out of cm paperwork, made a bloody huge list of all the things I need to do to catch up and be ready for my inspection. Yes yes I know I should always be ready for Ofsted as the mark of a truly great CM but hey ho I'm not, so there! Grin

threeislovely · 10/09/2014 22:06

Thanks SC - it'll be easier in a couple of weeks when my system has adjusted! At the moment, it's screaming at me to slow down and sit on the beach for a few weeks again Grin

Alice - you have my sympathies - I hate the dentist.

Bitchy - sorry to hear about stupid mums on the playground.

I have done very little tonight, but did speak to a friend who has been having a tough time, so really pleased I caught up with her.

Came home to phase one of ground force complete -totally thrilled with it! Just need to order materials for phase 2 to commence.

Managed to do swimming with kids without world war three, so that was a bonus.

Hoovered (or rather, I switched the robot on!)

Cleared kitchen up and shined sink (was feeling desperate!)

Pantry is relatively clear thank goodness for summer holidays but want to try and have a look at it tomorrow and wipe down appliances.

Cleaner comes tomorrow (thank goodness) so I am hoping she is impressed with the much improved nature of the house!

To Do (Tomorrow)

Ironing
Clean fridge
Pantry
Clean appliances
Buy materials for garden

BlueEyeshadow · 10/09/2014 22:26

Sorry to hear about the tooth, Alice

I have achieved actual paid work, which is good, but no flying, which isn't so good. Hey ho.

Tomorrow I will be running errands, so at least I'm getting that right.

Good luck with Od, nick.

Waves to everyone else. Night all.

BitchyTakesOnManagement · 10/09/2014 22:32

if I am quite honest nicknacks today has left me totally drained and I am rather glad to have been put back on complete bedrest by the doc earlier. Massive good luck with the inspection prep!!!!

three you have a robot that does your hoovering Envy Well done on everything you are getting done.

AliceDoesntLiveHereAnymore · 11/09/2014 06:12

Definitely rest was in order. I went around the house tidying up, not thinking about the bending over to pick up things, and ended up with a throbbing aching jaw and it started bleeding again. So rested the remainder of the evening, and I'm feeling much better this morning. It's down to a dull ache, which I imagine will mostly go away with some ibuprofen. Good thing. I have noticed the silliest thing though - when I yawn, it pulls on the stitches! Ouch! So... big incentive there to get my rest. Grin

Not a lot planned today. I have an appointment this afternoon, so I thought I'd spend the morning tinkering around a bit with that vacuum. I know, I know, it's probably dead. But I can't help it. It's actually a replacement vacuum for one that died that I bought from Lakeland. I'm really tempted to ring them and ask for a replacement for this one. Hmm That's IF I can't get the sorry thing working again. Grin I'm determined.

Wallpapering is firmly on the schedule again for next week, although later in the week, to make sure I'm completely ready for it.

to do
school run
appointment later
toy with vacuum
check bank
check budget
washing up (breakfast dishes)

Ds2 is dancing about with his new shoes. I was worried they might be too big. They're the same size as the ones he had but still bigger. Confused Not sure why.

AliceDoesntLiveHereAnymore · 11/09/2014 07:18

I'm also back on Slimming World as of today. I'm quite pleased, actually. I did lose weight on it before, but let it slide over the summer and gained some back. So back on it I go. I still want to do the couch to 2k but got seriously derailed this summer.

ToffeeWhirl · 11/09/2014 11:08

Sorry you had that tooth extraction, Alice Sad. I hope it stops throbbing soon.

Am not keeping up with the thread at all, I'm afraid. Spent Tuesday writing my OU essay, in between various crises at work and home. Finally finished it Wed morning and emailed it off. Huge relief!

The kittens are driving us all mad. I'm afraid they are more stressful than relaxing at the moment. Someone please reassure me that they will calm down. Luckily, they have gone to the vet's to be neutered and microchipped today, so we have a whole day of peace and quiet. It's lovely! Even the boys heaved a sigh of relief.

Anyone got any good ideas for names for a speedy, white cat? We still haven't come up with a name we can all agree on for the white one. He is like a little streak of lightning - always the first kitten to dash out of the dining-room door in the morning. DH has listed him as 'David' on the microchip form because he thinks it's hilarious to give them human names Hmm. Any better ideas, please?

Off into town now, then meeting my former cleaner this afternoon to find out why she's had to give up. I will definitely need to improve my Flying after this.

Vivacia · 11/09/2014 13:29

AliceDoesntLiveHereAnymore · 11/09/2014 13:31

Toffee Bolt? (for the lightening, you know)... and of course, I love the Bolt movie. Grin

BitchyTakesOnManagement · 11/09/2014 14:17

well I know i am not right when I can sleep through them digging up the road outside the house Shock Am a notoriously light sleeper. But the sleep has just left me feeling disorientated and bleurgh. I have an hour to pull myself together so we can get ds' glasses fixed when he gets back from school. Loads to do tomo and really cba to do anything. Hmm

AliceDoesntLiveHereAnymore · 11/09/2014 16:23

arrrrrgggghhhhh! Stupid bald tyre - at least part of it! Now I have to go to the tyre place, get a replacement tyre and get the front end realigned. Dammit! Thankfully it's happened when I have enough money to pay for it, but still irritating as it throws the budget off.

And as soon as THAT's done, I have to take it into the OTHER car place and have the brakes checked as the right one is squealing again - and they just replaced the brake pads 6 months ago, so it shouldn't be. So they're going to have a look.

argh argh argh!!!!

CallingAllEngels · 11/09/2014 18:32

Here is Friday’s flight plan.

OP posts:
CallingAllEngels · 11/09/2014 18:37

Oh no Alice - I hate cars sometimes.

Bitchy sounds like you need another early night.

Gonzales Toffee ? Roadrunner? Bullet?

DH has had a good day flying. he has:
Installed new tap in downstairs toilet
Cleaned rust spots on bathroom bin
Made yummy dinner

My ta da
Work
Washing-up
Swept kitchen floor
Put DS to bed

Not sure what I want to do this evening.

Tomorrow I have to:
Make a GP appt (mw called to say my iron and B12 are low)
Out at school event in the evening

Can't really think much further than that right now!

OP posts:
BitchyTakesOnManagement · 11/09/2014 18:44

There will be no early night. Seems the saga of the disgruntled playground parent rattles on. Plus there is a small issue of wasps in the loft. Not a major issue until you know that there is no hatch between my room and the loft space so essentially it is wasps in my room Shock I hate this time of the year.

AliceDoesntLiveHereAnymore · 11/09/2014 19:30

That's it. I'm hanging up the diet for the evening. 5yo ds2 had a huge red mark on the back of his neck and apparently some other kid (another 5yo FFS) was throttling him in the playground today. Ds2 got away and ran away but the kid followed him. Where the blazes were the teachers on the playground?? Hmm So before I get the car fixed, I have to stop at the school at school run tomorrow and speak to the headteacher. Thankfully, they usually deal with these kinds of things quickly. But I'm irritated that it got that far - ds2 kept saying "me and xx and xxx protect each other from him.." which rather implies it's happened before...

AliceDoesntLiveHereAnymore · 11/09/2014 19:33

Bitchy don't worry, I won't be shouting at the parent of the child. I actually know the parent, and they will be horrified. I will deal directly with the school and let them talk to the parent. Less ruffled feathers that way.

Vivacia · 11/09/2014 20:18

Ta da
Post-morning bathroom routine.
Dishwasher emptied.
Load of laundry done, hung out, brought in and now at various stages of being put away.
Vacuumed downstairs.
Evening kitchen routine done.
Tupperware shelf sorted.

Nevermind
Tidy food cupboard.
Empty dishwasher.

JemimaMuddledUp · 11/09/2014 20:26

DS1 offered to iron the school uniforms tonight. He did a really good job, even hung them on hangers. I could get used to this!

Ta Da
Quick clean round kitchen, bathroom, downstairs loo.
2 loads of washing washed, dried and ironed (with help from DS1).
Cooked dinner, washed dishes and tidied kitchen.
Made packed lunches for tomorrow.
Sorted out hockey and rugby kits for tomorrow,
Prepared ingredients for a chicken, sweet potato and spinach curry which will go in the slow cooker tomorrow morning so that it is ready when we get in from rugby and hockey.

So glad it is Friday tomorrow.

Vivacia · 11/09/2014 20:47

Oooh, I'd be interested in that recipe Jemima if you have time.

BitchyTakesOnManagement · 11/09/2014 21:42

Quite frankly i couldn't careless if you shouted at the parent. I have a problem with people who deliberate look for the mismeaning of things because they are at fault. I have a very cunning and pa approach for dealing with this. I might actually have some fun with this whilst brazening out her venom as I have no intention to stooping to her level.

BitchyTakesOnManagement · 11/09/2014 21:42

Bullying is the work of the devil. We had had the police involved because of it before. Keep on at school if you need to. Some don't deal with it until it gets very serious if you don't.
