Is having a continually wet bath mat just a boring fact of life - does yours dry out between uses?

We have towelling bath mats, and after two people standing on it in the morning, then two children standing on it in the evening, it never really dries out (especially now it's autumn). I hang it over the side of the bath. We have enough problems drying towels (one on radiator, one over the banisters etc..)
Does anyone have a good bath mat that works as an absorbent surface to make it safe to get out of bath, but that doesn't lie around in a wet heap?

Thanks Elizaday, might get an extra one.
Mawbroon, I would go with duck boards but not so toddler friendly.

Am chuffed though that DH has read this thread, and taken it upon himself to make sure he really dries his feet, so bath mat not getting quite so wet in the morning. (If you read this DH, thanks!).
And I am washing/drying our mats more often so at least they are bone dry some days!
Interesting how good lots of you are at carefully drying with special little towels, makes me feel a bit lazy. Blush

We use hand towels that along with all towels get washed after one use. After one of the dc's got impertigo from school, I went ocd about the millions of bacteria that grows within hours on damp towels and instilled a daily towel wash.

We used to have a cork mat years ago when my DC's were little & it used to dry brilliantly. Can't remember where I got it from though.
Now use a small towel and put in wash every day.
