Hello, anyone about or are you all out doing Jubilee things?

OH walked the dog's this morning, hunter is currently sleeping at my feet. DDs have calmed down because they believe me when I say if they fight (as in fisticuffs) in the car again I'll put them on the school bus, permanently.

Going shopping for roller skates a bit later, once OH has recovered from his walk. Finally got a plaster for my biggest blister, the supermarket didn't have any and I couldn't face walking round the corner to the pharmacy. The only ones I have here are waterproof and airtight. I can put up with Hanna Montanna, but the blister needs to dry now that it's burst.

That door problem sounds frustrating, is the front door fixed now? We went on holiday earlier this year, had someone stay in the house, and she locked herself out. She managed to get help, they took the patio doors off their hinges to gain accessShock

I need to get some washing on, and the kettle.

< Passes Brew to carrots > How was your course?

I've done a bit more painting this evening. I think it will be a while before it's all done. I tend to let a bit of it dry before I do more to it. Wink

carrotsandcelery · 02/06/2012 21:03

Hi Cats. Thanks for the Brew

The course was great. I really enjoyed it and after the initial panic that I wouldn't cope with the technical side of it all, I seemed to cope with it ok. I will need to practise and revise to really get it.

It was exhausting concentrating for such a long time. Although my day is normally very physical, it isn't often very mentally taxing - not in that way anyway. I think that is half of my problem in many respects.

I am glad you have been painting again. I am beginning to carve out a few things for myself and it does make a difference.

CatsSleepAnywhere · 02/06/2012 21:06

What was the course for carrots? If you don't want to say, it's o.k.

carrotsandcelery · 02/06/2012 21:13

Sorry Cats, I thought I had already said. It was a photography course teaching you how to use your camera rather than just use the auto function all the time.

Carrots
Oh yes, I remember now, you did say. That sound's lovely! Smile

DH and I have decided to treat ourselves to a take away! Grin I know it's really late to eat something but I am hungry and DH thought It would be nice too!

AdoraBell · 03/06/2012 02:17

Sorry Cats, glad Carrots was around to make you a decafGrin, hope you enjoyed your take away. Glad you've been painting.

Carrots glad your course went well, that sounds really interesting. And thanks for doing Cats a decafGrin

I couldn't get roller skates, none left in my size. That is one problem here, with a population of only around 17-18 million the market for anything remotely expensive, ie imported, is tiny so they tend to get just one delivery per year. I may have to get roller blades instead, but I really want skates!

I also want the two German Shepherd puppies we saw today. We only went in to look and I fell in love. DDs have already sorted out names, it's practically a forgone conclusion.

carrotsandcelery · 03/06/2012 08:17

Adora i think cats made me the decaff Grin
I am seriously Envy of potential puppies.
I would really like a dog from scratch iykwim. I am not sure we could do it though.
I am lounging in the bath with a Brew
Dh left for work at 7am. He is supposed to have the 4 days off. I feel awful for him. He doesnt get paid enough to justify this (i had a really Blush Shock conversation with someone yesterday about someone looking at a house in our street because they didnt need a nice house anymore. What are you supposed to say in these circumstances? I think we are really lucky to have the house we do and we worked blinking hard for it. Is it me or was that just rude?
Anyway i am in the bath having cleaned out the piggies, about to read my magazine. I feel much more keen to fly so i may blitz the kitchen today too.
What has everyone else got planned?

Zoo at the dcs school they made Jubilee crowns and flags. You could also make bunting. I saw mini cheerleader style pom poms too (I took a photo yesterday so I will try to upload it for you.) Looked like it was straws and strips of paper.

I will go and try to do the photo now.

OP posts:
carrotsandcelery · 03/06/2012 10:58

CatsSleepAnywhere · 03/06/2012 12:53

Hi all, just checking in for lunchtime. Our weather is a bit pants too! We have had rain all morning but I think the sun may be trying to get through the clouds. It is much colder here today too.

carrotsandcelery · 03/06/2012 12:56

Thanks for the tip zoo.

Dd is having a friend over to play this afternoon, although I think a large part of the event will involve heading up to the park, as far away from me as possible Hmm

Ds has phoned a friend too and is waiting to hear if he can come over.

It is cold here and varying between sunny and cloudy - good enough for me Grin

Morning/afternoon everyone

Zoo I hope DS gets better soon and the activities keep the older ones occupied.

Carrots see, I said a few days ago that I am always causing confusion, sorry.

We spent most of yesterday out, so not much got done here apart from a little laundry, which still needs to be put away. I've been awake most of the night thinking, excitedly, about the logistics of getting two puppies. DDs have already settled on a name for the female. They are a pair of pedigrees certified by the Kennel Club of Chile. Not that I'm looking for pedigrees, but they are just sooooo gorgeous.

Oops, OH is sleepwalking, think I'll go and make sure he's okay.

liveinazoo · 03/06/2012 13:43

in the morning little zoo started the festivities as the nursery unit stole the hearts of all those watching doing a line dance in union flag neckercheifsGrin
i salute the intrepid nursery staff as they had 3 of them leading 30 kids not once, but twiceto the sound of achey breaky heart by billy ray cyrus.i would be lying through my teeth if a said i didnt howl my eyes out

our dsp unit did a lovely makaton god save the queen which was applauded with gustoSmile

i made cakes including a union flag battenburg and a bunting cake which i got dp to take pictures of and am hoping to get up onmy page in the net few daysSmile

i also stitched a bandana for ds with the queen rocks on it and a guitar in union flag pattern!

carrotsandcelery · 03/06/2012 15:42

I like folk who are soft zoo because I am marshmallow all the way through.

Dd has a friend round and they have vanished off to the park.

Ds has a friend round and they are playing on the wii. They have been outside for a while so I said they could play for an hour and then go out again.

This friends round business is quite nice for me too as I have had company when the mums drop them off too Smile

OP posts:
carrotsandcelery · 03/06/2012 15:45

Question is, do I go and clean the bird poo off the outside of the window on one window or will that show up how dusty the windows are on the outside? It really isn't all that nice looking at a bird poo all the time.

I put it to the jury!
