Thank you for the support Carrots. I do feel fairly rough right now - kind of like my brain isn't working properly! I'm hoping I wind down and get better sleep tonight.

I am glad too Carrots that you have been able to clarify things about ds. Are school still not handling things very well?

I think I need to go to bed. I'm singing at church tomorrow so I have to be there for 9.00am!

Night night all

carrotsandcelery · 26/05/2012 22:12

That's more like it bessie Grin

Arti the school are fantastic just now. Different staff are in place. We are just concerned that things stay that way.

Try to be good to yourself. There is no rule that we can't have fun Grin

I can't believe NONE of you have noticed I've had my hair done

carrotsandcelery · 26/05/2012 22:29

It's our wedding anniversary soon, so I thought I'd better make an effort!

carrotsandcelery · 26/05/2012 22:37

I hadn't the heart to mention the eyebrows earlier in the week bessie Grin

I hope dh takes you somewhere nice after all this pampering hard work?

OP posts:
bessie26 · 26/05/2012 22:53

Heehee, they were quite unkempt! Grin

DH forgot to book a table at our favourite restaurant, so he will be booking a table somewhere else for next weekend. And then booking a table at the good place for another night.

carrotsandcelery · 26/05/2012 22:54

Oooh! Fantastic! Two nights out Grin

Mr Nobody goes on and on and on and on and on...

Sooner or later dh will choose a film I like [hopeful]

OP posts:
bessie26 · 26/05/2012 22:58

When do you get to choose the film?! We are watching Dara on BBC2.

carrotsandcelery · 26/05/2012 23:15

We have a list with Love Film. I should really go on and choose some films. We have had weeks of me being bored out of all my senses watching drivel. It doesn't happen at the cinema.

OP posts:
carrotsandcelery · 26/05/2012 23:15

I would love to be watching Dara. Envy

Can I ask what you ladies wear on your feet during the summer? Random question I know but I can't wear my birkies anymore. Everytime I do I can't walk at night time.

OP posts:
bessie26 · 26/05/2012 23:47

What are birkies? Comfort is always my main concern. Last year I mainly wore my beloved converse, or some slip on trainer type things I got from Clarks or some gold kinda gladiator type flat sandles I got from Sainsbury's. I have just bought some silvery wedge sandles from M&S which were fairly cheap (£20 ish I think) and appear to go with almost everything. I haven't worn them for any great length of time yet though.

AdoraBell · 27/05/2012 00:51

Evening everyone

I can't crack open the vino yetSad I have to pick up a DD from her friend's party at 9.

Glad to report that DD1 had a good evening yesterday and a good day today. Hardly any whinging and she actually picked up her clothes, strewn across the estar floor (estar is a family room, but like a den-ish) with minumin attitude last night

Her sister, on the other hand, had a screaming fit because it was DD1's turn to chose the TV channel. If that grumpy 7 yr old is still available I'd be willing to do a short term swapGrin. She has a cold, which she seems to think excuses such behaviour, ho hum.

Arti, sorry to hear you are upset and not sleeping, I find that writing helps me a lot. Do you keep any kind of diary, or could you just have a rant on a piece of paper?. I'm Keeping the bin bag in reserve for in case the fly ladies kids challenges don't work. Then there's a Justin Bieber calendar which will go on her wall if she still resists, she won't want to sleep in there with that thing looking at herGrin

cats good luck with the potty training, sorry I don't have anything more to add apart from not making her feel she doing anything wrong.

carrots

So glad you have some ammunition for the school. My two have both had therapy and it's helped immensely.

Right, I'm going to toddle off, power keeps going due to the storm and I wanted to post before we lose t'internet.

carrotsandcelery · 27/05/2012 10:10

bessie birkies are birkenstock sandals, which seem to be the uniform around these parts, along with Boden/Fat Face/White Stuff clothing and expensive sunglasses.

I used to love them but now I am FORTY Grin they are comfy during the day but I can't walk at night time.

If I wasn't in sandals I would be in running trainers (properly fitted ones where they look at your gait etc and adjust the insoles etc accordingly) or knee length leather boots (I take the insoles out of my trainers and put them in the boots).

I love Converse. I used to live in them. I have pink converse sandals in the loft so I might dig them out and see if I am able to walk after a day of them. Thanks bessie.

I called Twilight bessie when I was messaging with you last night. Dh thought the heat had finally completely addled my brain Grin

Wedding yesterday lovely (and perfect weather for it, too). Toddler was well behaved for his grandparents and didn't cry when we left. I think, though, Toddler has been put on a rack and stretched while we were out -- he's grown since yesterday.

carrotsandcelery · 27/05/2012 16:23

Ha ha Scout! You have gained a new perspective on TS. I am glad you had a good time and TS was happy.

I have been tidying out our garage. Dh has taken 3 estate car loads to the tip/recycling centre. He has built one large chest and is building the other (I hope) so that the garden toys can be in one place and the gardening stuff can be on one place and there is room to move the bikes in and out of the bike rack easily. It looks sooooo much better.

I have had to have another shower as I was so sweaty and dusty after it so I am sitting in my pjs (clean ones) until I have to get dressed and go and collect dd who is off playing with a friend.

I have also given Twilight a bit of haircut. She is so hairy. I have filled a tesco carrier bag and you wouldn't really know I had done anything apart from her ears. I think I will just have to snip away in stages. She is so, so, so hot though. It is 29C here just now. Shock

Scout19075 · 27/05/2012 17:48

Need to go back and read through all I've missed.

But yes, carrots, definitely a new perspective on TS. I can usually see when he's grown but it's really obvious to me today. MrScout regularly says on weekends how much TS has grown/developed from one weekend to the next. The mother Toddler's "big friends" says the same thing since they usually see him once a week.

bessie26 · 27/05/2012 20:45

Glad you had a good time scout & glad DD1 behaved herself yesterday adora

arti are you feeling any better today? Hope you slept ok last night.

I'm finishing off my online shop & drinking Wine

bessie26 · 27/05/2012 20:48

and where is ZOO? is she all loved-up? Wink

carrotsandcelery · 27/05/2012 20:54

Grin at idea that zoo is loved up.

It is very quiet here today. Is everyone outside in the sun? It is still 23C here despite the sun being really low.

Dd is about to be bawled at. She has been asked to have a quick shower and get to bed. Instead she is procrastinating. I can't imagine who she learned that from Wink
