Good housekeeping? Ha! What's that? Thought I'd treat dh tonight to kick off long weekend and he was bummed he has to work late tonight. Cooked dinner, have my hair up in rollers, cleaned the house, bought wine, sexy lingerie....then I changed the bed sheets :s brand new expensive sheets and they were all crumpled after their first wash so I decided to iron them while they were ON the duvet. Long story short my cheap duvet has now melted into expensive sheets. Tried to pull at it to separate it and now duvet has big loose clumps rolling around in the covers somewhere :s have no idea how to hide my little crime and dh gets home in an hour.... there goes my sexy little evening plan :s

Yes to steam generator iron. I need a bigger ironing board though. I watch recorded episodes of a home and Away. Blush

How can you watch telly and iron at the same time without failing at both?

I like listening to Radio4 while ironing. A good afternoon [lay is perfect.

Play! I meant play! Blush
Obviously the other thing is not compatible with ironing.
Or maybe I'm just not adventurous enough.

Ironing and watching go together - Judge Judy or Man V Food are perfect. Don't recommend Walking Dead. Other thing would just make more creases imho.

Just arrived at this.
I do now - ever since I saw a documentary on TV about the creepy things we share our homes with (other than the obvious ones).
Apparently ironing bedlinen, particularly the seams, kills the bed bugs (or maybe it was their eggs?) which can survive being washed in the machine even at high temperatures.
The steamed heat from the iron is fatal.

EEEW - so glad I iron my bedding now.

Bluepetticoat · 21/04/2012 14:48

I do.

I didn't for years but now that DCs have left home and I have abit more tme, I do. No point buying Egyptian cotton sheets and duvet covers and having them creased to the eyes. I fold the sheets into 4 and doa quick whizz over, and fold the king size duvet in half and iron each side- works a treat.
