Ta Das:

More excavation in dd's room [bublush]

WisteriaWoman · 06/04/2012 17:46

I"ve just started following FLYlady's advice and the house is already looking and feeling better, and I'm no longer feeling overwhelmed with the chores.[busmile]
Does anyone use a control journal? Did you buy it from their website or can you recommend a UK version. PLEASE help.

THANK YOU

CatsSleepAnywhere · 06/04/2012 18:31

Hi WisteriaWoman, I did start one back in August when we started doing Flylady but I must admit I don't use mine often. I tend to stick with "to do" lists.
It is usefull for keeping some important information (phone numbers) in or recipes.
I think you just have to figure out what would work for you. I'm not sure what the others do on here.
Mine is an A4 file.
You are welcome to join us if you like. Smile

Hello from the outIn-Laws!

Ta Dahs for today:
Wrapped Niece3's birthday present
1 load of laundry washed
1 load of laundry dried and/or hung
1 load of laundry (yesterday's) folded and repacked
1 hunt for white hen eggs (unfruitful)
Took Toddler for lunch at the garden center and to feed the fish (Koi)
Washed baking pans for tomorrow's baking session
Gathered ingredients for tomorrow's baking session
3 bags of sweets bundled into parcels for the plastic eggs (for Sunday's egg hunt)
Changed countless nappies, had endless cuddles, watched 2 episodes of Ben & Holly and managed to get Toddler to nap earlier in the day and to bed tonight

To Dos:
Eat some chocolate
Watch a few more episodes of Spooks
Wrap some more sweet parcels for plastic eggs
See if there are any eggs I can hard boil to shrink wrap tomorrow or see if I need to go to the shop in the morning

carrotsandcelery · 06/04/2012 20:12

Awww Scout I am sorry no one had white eggs. I'm sorry for sending you on a fruitless search.

liveinazoo · 06/04/2012 20:13

carrotsandcelery · 06/04/2012 20:14

Where had bessie gone?

carrotsandcelery · 06/04/2012 20:16

Scout19075 · 06/04/2012 20:18

No worries, carrots, it was only down the road five minutes. Stopped at the nearby Waitrose to check, too. Went out Toddler-free for 45 minutes, so that was lovely.

liveinazoo · 06/04/2012 20:18

carrots tell me you havent fallen into the abyss with bessieShock

liveinazoo · 06/04/2012 20:20

i just dont seem seen bessie much lately

carrotsandcelery · 06/04/2012 20:20

I am here zoo. Maybe bessie is busy eating an enormous Green and Blacks Egg and has no hands free for typing.

liveinazoo · 06/04/2012 20:21
carrotsandcelery · 06/04/2012 20:22

bessie I hope you are doing something lovely and not cleaning [bugrin]

liveinazoo · 06/04/2012 20:24

bit fed up tonight.dp isnt great and has decided if weathers rubbish sunday doesnt want be "stuck in with you and the kids" and wont bother coming[selfish emoticon]
i think only reason hes coming tomorrow is because he takng ds horse riding

carrotsandcelery · 06/04/2012 20:29

Oh zoo it is rubbish when things go that way.

Does he see it himself or is he too blinkered to realise what he is saying and doing?

FWIW it is probably better if he stays away rather than hangs around and resents being there. That way lie misery for you all. Just make sure you scoff his egg.

Dh favours ds too. Dd is the image of him and he finds it hard to handle. He loves her but that similarity and the fact that she is female as well makes it harder for him to bond with her. Ds is like me and they get on brilliantly. It makes me Sad though. I am glad they have a great bond but feel Sad for dd.

It will be me and the dcs all weekend too as dh is working for most of it.

bessie26 · 06/04/2012 20:35

I am still here! I have had to stop surfing on my phone as it hurts my eyes [old] so am just not online as much. (I should probably wear my glasses more, but am still in denial that I need them). I have found I get alot more done without checking my phone though!

wisteria my "control journal" is on a spreadsheet. It prints out onto 2 sides of A4 and lists the things I should be doing every day, as well as specific tasks for each day (e.g. on tuesday nights I have to pack nursery bags for the DDs). I print it out every week so I can tick things off (and write notes of other stuff I need to do around the edges)

carrotsandcelery · 06/04/2012 20:42

Yay! Hi bessie [bugrin] I missed you!

liveinazoo · 06/04/2012 20:44

if he ate chocolate we would definately declutter it for him...
its the children i feel sad for.they havent seen him since last saturday and he started a job that means he wont get many weekends off anymore, next weekend is his last for a month or so i think so he will see even less of them
dd2 has issues over ds and dp i think.at almost 8 she is able to see he is favouritelittle zoo still little and loves mummy who always there!
look like you may be an outlet for grown up conversation this weekend then
even if i felt more confident meeting people easter/xmas etc a family time and it can be quite lonely when family is just me and the zoolets

liveinazoo · 06/04/2012 20:46

bessie you havent fallen into an abyss after all[bugrin]!

what everybody eating sunday?

liveinazoo · 06/04/2012 20:47
carrotsandcelery · 06/04/2012 20:47

liveinazoo · 06/04/2012 20:56
