Has anyone seen Greek??

zoo tonight the DDs had green muffins, DH & I will have chilli green stirfry when he gets back from the supermarket.

I need to wipe out the fridge before it gets full, make a new reward chart for tomorrow, unpack their bags from today, pack a different bag for DD1 tomorrow and GO TO BED EARLY!

carrotsandcelery · 06/03/2012 19:21

Greek, Camper and Chaotic have all gone missing.

I'm here...but have to confess to Not Doing Much today :(

Scrap that - I've done loads today, but not much of it included cleaning/decluttering Grin

Went to local big library to look for something I was after, not there, so drove to the one at the end of the road and it was there Angry Bumped into someone I knew and spoke to him for a while, then walked the dogs before picking ds1 up from school. Home for a quick bite to eat then drove to my friend's where the boys played with her two for a couple of hours and we chinwagged. Drove home reprimanding myself for the state of the car, so got soapy water and a cloth and wiped the inside down/chucked all the rubbish that was on the floor away. I draw the line at washing the car though - that's dh's job Wink

Then made tea - Hugh FW's curried sweet potato soup - OMG it's delicious, fed children, tidyed up their dishes etc., put boys to bed, dh got home at 7.15pm so we have just finished eating now.

Have I done enough to not get prodded? Grin

Bessie I sometimes make sundried tomato, courgette and cheese savoury muffins which are delish, your recipe has reminded me I might make some tomorrow.

bessie26 · 06/03/2012 20:06

OMG OMG OMG OMG! Karma has come around!!!! I was just cleaning the fridge & I FOUND a bar of chocolate hiding behind the marg & jam!!!

carrotsandcelery · 06/03/2012 20:12

Yay! Chaotic has not been chucked out with the recycling. Grin

That is definitely enough not to be prodded. You decluttered the car IN WINTERTIME which in my view gets you off for the day.

I have lots of days like that Chaotic - I think the pointy stick is for when we are just glued to the sofa being lazy.

bessie you have just proved that karma exists. Enjoy!

Camper was last seen yesterday, but may be suffering nervous exhaustion from too many jigsaws. Greek on the other hand hasn't been seen since saturday. I am concerned that she descaled her kettle too well** & is no longer able to make the necessary amounts of Brew needed for this thread.

chaotic I think you have just escaped the pointy stick by wiping sticky bits off the inside of the car! [eeeewwww] Both your recipes sound great, I discovered 5 sweet potatoes in the garage today & was wondering what to do with them! The muffins sound lovely, do you happen to have a recipe to hand? DD1(3) is being a pita bit picky with her food atm, but muffins appear to be a magical food which are always accepted.

**Note: This can happen - I once descaled a kettle so well that it started leaking everywhere, turns out the scale was all that was holding the thing together!

carrotsandcelery · 06/03/2012 20:23

I have had a traumatic but happy evening.

Ds came out of school saying he didn't feel well etc. He does this every Tuesday because he doesn't want to go swimming.

IMO swimming is like teeth cleaning and has to be done so I took him anyway, keeping an eye on him, and once he had realised it wasn't going to work he was bouncy and happy as usual.

Anyway, it turns out he got a badge tonight for swimming a length of the pool finally.

It is tradition in our house to have a "party" (ie eat junk food) when one of the dcs gets a swimming badge so the lentil shepherd's pie is on hold for tomorrow and we had pizza, crisps, tunnocks tea cakes, grapes, home made sponge, maltesers etc for tea.

He is so, so, so, so, so, so excited and pleased with himself it is worth the panic baking and junk food shopping.

My dparents happened to be coming by so they came in for a cuppa and some party food too which made it even more of an occasion for him.

Things like this mean so much to a child with his problems.

It just goes to show that even if the day starts on the wrong foot it can turn around.

I know zoo is probably sleeping by now but if not, how was your ds zoo?

bessie I am Shock about the kettle. Grin

OP posts:
MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 06/03/2012 20:38

Yes bessie no probs:

150g self raising flour
75g rolled oats
1.5 tsp english mustard powder
1tsp baking powder
0.5 tsp bicarbonate soda
200g courgette, grated
150g strong cheddar, grated
6(ish) sundried tomatoes, drained (if in oil) and chopped
75ml milk
1 egg
5tbsp vegetable oil

Heat oven to Gas 4/180C/350F
Mix together dry ingredients then add the courgette, tomatoes and cheese (but reserve a little cheese for topping the muffins) and mix well.
Wisk milk, egg and vegetable oil then add to the bowl of dry ingredients and mix all together
Spoon into 6 silicone or paper muffin cases, top with the remaining cheese and bake for 30 mins.

:)

Watching the Alex Polizi show and it's about a place MrScout and I love going to for lunch (if/when we're in that area).

carrotsandcelery · 06/03/2012 20:49

Chaotic thanks for the recipe. It sounds lovely so I have stolen it too. I hope that is ok Wink
