Starting from March 1st lets babystep our way through the month, throwing in the odd mission.

We have pointy sticks -> to get you off the sofa and chocolate and stickers as rewards.

Let's end our CHAOS and enjoy our sparkly homes.

BC, Toddler had a toasted cheese sandwich and I had the left over sloppy joe.

liveinazoo · 05/03/2012 12:46

home blessing in a hour-how is this possible?

my theory is either a)flylady really can fly and uses some kind cleaning magic
b)lives in a shoe box sized house!

i spent almost an hour changing all the beds, bins out,mop 3 floors, polish kids rooms and s+s bathroom

tell me im not doing it wrongSad

I have had a pasta salad for lunch.

I got my worktops scrubbed and was busy decluttering when my dmum phoned and she was on the phone for ages. Then a friend phoned about a meeting and then I made some banana and oatmeal muffins as we had 3 bananas hanging around that were beyond eating as themselves iykwim.

I feel a bit frustrated as I haven't done as much as I wanted and time is running out. I had to stop just now for lunch though as I was getting the shakes.

I have also wondered about that "Home blessing" and thought I would never do it in an hour so have never tried.

I'm in for 1.00 club but just need a Brew first Wink

liveinazoo · 05/03/2012 12:53

what on the cleaning menu for the hour bc
think i shall wash up then do todays mission

CamperWidow · 05/03/2012 12:57

Well, this all must be working! We had a manic day yesterday, and as I got into bed early with an upset baby (co-sleeping) I moaned to DH that I hadn't managed to do the minimal washing up in the sink. This morning, he got up early to make babys' bottles and did the washing up while waiting!!!! 6 days ago that wouldn't have entered his head. And, super bless him, he didn't brag about it, just went to work so when I went in the kitchen to do breakkie I had a clean sink!! Grin
I have tried and failed this and other 'systems' so many times that it's easy to get started, I just need to ingrain it and maintain it.

BlackCatTryingToFly · 05/03/2012 12:58

I think I will have to start at 1.10pm as I have only just made Brew.
I will be washing up. There I have made a commitment! I have to "Take action" as part of my "getting better" Hmm

liveinazoo · 05/03/2012 13:00

pointy sticks at the ready.
set
GO!!!
back in an hour

carrotsandcelery · 05/03/2012 13:08

Well done MrCamper - and well done Camper as your extra efforts must be rubbing off. That is what I found with MrCarrots. I moan about him but generally the more I get done the more he tries to help with it all.

I am starting my hour a little late but I am off now. I will see you back here about 2!

And BC I love the positive attitude. I think we should all adopt it. I will tidy up the kitchen family room. It definitely works Smile

Carrots I am a bit Hmm about whether it will work but time will tell.
I have to try and face my fears by taking small steps. Not that washing up is a fear! Grin but I thought I would try to use what I learn at counselling in my everyday life.
Anyway, I have:
washed up x 1

dried up x 1
put various DVD's on for DD at her request.

How did everyone else get on?

BlackCatTryingToFly · 05/03/2012 14:29

liveinazoo · 05/03/2012 14:34

liveinazoo · 05/03/2012 14:35

oooh chocolate biscuits.YUM

BlackCatTryingToFly · 05/03/2012 14:37

Zoo could you not ask for your appointments to be in the morning? Or would this not work for you?

I find having it in the morning gives me less time to get worked up about it.

liveinazoo · 05/03/2012 14:45

would pref that but couldnt arrange anyone else pick up little zoo as intensive 2hr appointmentSad

on plus side daytime appointments are a 45min walk away at wellbeing clinic, eve ones are at local childrens centre next kids school, just 10 mins away

little zoo tugging for a quick story before pick up so i shall have to go

will need pointy stick later as will be tired from early start and being super stressed!

BlackCatTryingToFly · 05/03/2012 14:48

Shock at 2 hours Zoo. Wishing you luck anyway! Smile

bessie26 · 05/03/2012 15:09

carrots - the looking at reminders bit of babystep 5 is defn worth doing (so why do I always forget?) the bit I meant was meh was about turning the negative voices in your head into positive ones. Which now I think about it, isn't as meh as I thought Blush

zoo what are you trying to do for your "home blessing"? It sounds too much to me! IMO it is a quick wizz round - Fly lady says you should only do each thing (e.g. vacuum) for 10mins. For mine I do

  • vacuum downstairs (just the bits that show - no moving furniture!)
  • mop kitchen floor (ok, this takes longer than 10mins)
  • clean upstairs loo/potty
  • clean downstairs loo/potty
  • empty all bins

I do the bedding on different days (if I changed all the sheets at the same time I would struggle to get them all washed & dried), dusting & polishing can wait until I'm in the appropriate zone slattern & we don't often have magazines, but if we did they would go in the towering inferno hotspot in the hall with the post

it's cold & wet here today Sad

carrotsandcelery · 05/03/2012 15:53

Ah sorry bessie - I was confused. I would have dismissed the negative voices one too but I suspect that is the one that trips us all up every time.

Sorry I didn't report back at 2. I got another phonecall from a good friend so we blethered until I had to go for school pick up.

I did manage to hoover the hallway and half the kitchen family room, mop the kitchen end of the floor, declutter the table and scrub it and wash it down a few times (it still needs another scrub) and declutter the large stool in the seating area as well as the coffee table. I also hung the wash and put on another which I should check on as the machine was leaking again.

I also got this weeks ebay sales packaged and posted (bar one which hasn't been paid for yet). It is amazing what you can do with the one o'clock club Grin Thanks everyone.

I am currently having a Fab (ice lolly) with the dcs and a little rest and then it will be homework time. Ds has a project due in a few days and still has about 1/3 of it to do so it could be a challenge.

BC keep an open mind on the positive thinking - it makes a massive difference to me

I will try Carrots. I feel I have had such a negative outlook for such a long time it's a bit hard to change but I really do want to change and hopefully with a bit of time and work, I will Smile.

I'm struggling today -- with Toddler and the house and motivation. Will come back this evening when TS is in bed.

Haven't done much today but did do three major jobs for the day town for the bank (for Seniors) and the sweet shop (for Seniors) and ordering crafts (for Wednesday's Seniors' meeting). I think-- I'll be happy when I don't have to worry about the Seniors.

It's so very cold and wet here. TS's Monday afternoon active group was cancelled today (which we didn't know until we got there). I'm gutted -- I could have used some adult conversation and TS could do with some running around. It's so yuck out that every time we opened the house or car door Toddler would say "'old Mummy." (Cold Mummy.)
