I love lists, however, occasionally I need to actually do the stuff on them, this is where I fall down.

Would anyone care to join me in a thread where we can list our 'to dos' and tick them off at the end of the day?

Please?

Yes I will! Might not manage every day!

Tomorrow I will strip dcs beds, empty dryer, put wash on.
After work I will tackle ironing, put away sainsburys delivery!
Then enjoy weekend!

whyme2 · 19/01/2012 22:21

Okay, I have lists and lists.

Tomorrow is:
Hoover up and downstairs,
Tidy landing,
Post ebay item and pay one bill.
Phone mam (this could take some time Grin)

This is only a short list. In reality there are many many things that need doing but I am breaking myself in gently.

leftmymistletoeatthedoor · 20/01/2012 10:02

Hello and welcome to list heaven!

Today I have to:
Take dd to the doctors :(
Clean the cat litter tray
Pack for going away for the weekend
Pack up ds's toys for weekend
Clean worktops

Lots more but not got time...

MrsMangoBiscuit · 20/01/2012 10:06

Hello, I will join you, although I'm just marking my place for the momment. My only task today is to get over flipping norovirus! Ah the joys of working in a hospital. :(

leftmymistletoeatthedoor · 20/01/2012 10:13

Oh no! Get well soon.

I love my lists but much like mistletoe not so flash at actually doing them. Please note am on other side of world to you lot so my day tomorrow will be when most of you are snoozing....

pick up new tv unit (was my xmas pressie but lovely friend making it needed to wait on wood order so it is a tad late) this will involve getting a trailer and driving about 40 min each way to collect so will take some time

20mins room (this is my new thing and a bit flyish I think but will spend 20 mins after kids in bed in one room either cleaning or sorting or whatever needs doing) tomorrow is playroom

organise slowcooker meal for overnight (long story involving ds)

load of wash on, out, in, folded and away

both toilets (twice daily job at mo as dd is newly independent and ds is rubbish at aiming)

put away filing

pick up carpet samples (another long story involving ds)

pick up 1/2 booster (ds again)

make salads and vege burger patties for bbq

tidy outside before lovely neighbours arrive for above bbq

set up water slide for lovely neighbours kids and ours for above

send parcel for trademe (our version of ebay)

whyme2 · 20/01/2012 12:56

so I have not made a dent in my list yet due to having to take DD2 to the gp. I have sat in the waiting room nearly all morning and then dropped DD3 at nursery. I have just got home and had some lunch.

I may or may not tackle my list this afternoon. The only thing I can tick off already is I managed to pay the one bill that needed doing.

leftmymistletoeatthedoor · 20/01/2012 13:28

Yup I've been at the GP too with dd.

Am vvv jealous of the bbq / water slide - in future please code these as 'boring meeting' and 'clean the toilet' or something similar! Its soooooooooooo icy here in Scotland today.

Clean cat litter - done
Take dd to GP - done
Seen MIL - done :)

Am about to pack up toys and then start on the kitchen....if dd willm let me.......

yawningmonster · 20/01/2012 21:04

Good morning all...

Needed to add to list:

Find visa courtesy of dd playing with purse and

Pay insurance

yawningmonster · 21/01/2012 02:34

Visa done
Insurance done
Pick up cabinet done
Pick up booster seat done
Washing on, out, in done still to fold and put away
Pick up carpet samples (weren't ready so not done but tried to)
Tidy outside and water slide or for mistles sake cleaning oven done
Send parcel done
Toilets done
Wasn't on my list but we squeezed in a trip to dump while we had trailer from cabinet and got the trailer back with 3 minutes to spare (we rock)

WentworthMillerMad · 21/01/2012 09:21

Hi everyone! yawn where are you Nz?

Last night DS was v siCk in the car, cleaned in last night but need round 2 in a minute. Might start thread on that!
Need to tackle laundry as last night did all the pukey stuff.
Buy cake and sweets for party bags, DS is now fine and party at laser station will go ahead as planned!

yawningmonster · 21/01/2012 09:26

yes in nz!!! which I loved a little bit more when there were less earthquakes.
I got everything done except

Filing
20mins room
carpet samples

The first two I blame on the neighbours as they have only just left and it is 10.30. Their kids bunked in with ours and they carried them next door, it was lovely...oh and I made a yummy, scrummy want more in my tummy bean salad as one of the salads

leftmymistletoeatthedoor · 21/01/2012 09:43

Hi all.

I've no real lists today because I'm visiting relatives. I will have lists tomorrow though....

OP posts:
BlastOff · 21/01/2012 10:13

This is where I'm going wrong. I have loads to do but I've just got a vague notion of 'loads'...

So my list today is:
Take ds1 to party
Open new bank account (in married name - got married 4 & 1/2 years ago...)
Do two loads of washing, dried and put away
Get some essential shopping in
Do online shop for the week

Ds2 is sick so think this will be enough to try and get done.

yawningmonster · 21/01/2012 20:03

morning, sorry to hear so many of you have sick children. Today is erm a bit odd with our to do list which is solely because of ds so....

Wear pj's all day
Go berry picking in pjs
Have dinner for breakfast and breakfast for dinner
Swap beds (ie dh and I in the bunks, kids in our bed...ds particularly looking forward to this one!!!)
Go to playground in dark with torches
Have a bath in the middle of the day
Mum does no housework (which sounds great on the surface but is in fact so mum can play with dc's all day)
Check mailbox at night (on way down to park)

That is it so far, ds would be more than delighted if anyone came up with anything else. He has been more excited in the lead up to 'do it different day' than he was before xmas!!! (Now you understand the whole slow cooker night thing right??)

leftmymistletoeatthedoor · 21/01/2012 21:24

Awh bless that's a lovely idea :)

My list for tomorrow is:
Shopping for packed lunch + fresh stuff
Packing for going home
Tidy playroom
Iron school uniform
Wash and pack gym kit
Post cards
Get photos developed

OP posts:
yawningmonster · 22/01/2012 06:22

right well so

got some very, very odd looks at blueberry picking but ds loved, loved the fact that we got into the spirit of it (if a thread turns up saying about how mortified they were that an entire family picked berries in their pj's you will know that there are more nzers around on mn)
We had roasties for breakfast with slow cooker shanks for the meat eaters and leftover salads for me
kids loved the bath in the middle of the day
I loved the no housework though may regret this tomorrow
Unfortunately it is raining here at mo so can't do park in the dark as is full on thunder and lightening!!! We are going to let ds stay up late and play spotlight inside instead (thanks to dh for coming up with that one saved alot of disappointment) We have yet to do bed swapping but I fully expect some sort of hut to be in place of my bed tomorrow!!!

Tomorrows list not nearly so exciting

Drop ds off at friends for play and pick up at end
Phone call to assessment people
Have friends dd while she is at dentist
Wash
Mountain of dishes as dishwasher on blink and while I sneakily soaked them, I am not allowed to wash them today (see above)
Call mum
20 mins room
Toilet
I really, really also need to clean bath

whyme2 · 22/01/2012 08:05

So today's list is:

Wash all the wee'd on bedding. Both ds and dd3 wet the bed so both beds need re making and all the sheets need washing and drying.

Dry and fold school uniform.

List a couple of ebay items.

Go through all 3 reading books with 3 different dc.

Get everyone in bed by 7am and drink wine. Grin

stoppinattwo · 22/01/2012 09:36

ok so today:
sort out Lunches/dinners for this week
Do Aunties shopping
deliver aunties shopping
List ebay items
Help DC's with homework
Clean fridges out and chuck all the plastice fridgey bits in the dishwasher
Wlk the dog x 2 (done one already)
Take DD swimming - involves my pre swim preparation Wink

leftmymistletoeatthedoor · 22/01/2012 16:33

Shopping for packed lunch + fresh stuff
Packing for going home - done
Tidy playroom
Iron school uniform
Wash and pack gym kit
Post cards
Print photos out

I don't think I'm going to acheive much else other than what HAS to be done (ie school uniform) cause dd had me up all night and I have a headache from hell.

Whyme2 - get everyone in bed by 7am may be a little ambitious, no?

OP posts:
BlastOff · 22/01/2012 18:18

Ok my list became stretched over two days but I did manage:

Take Ds to party
Actually done four loads of washing - almost all dry, what is dry is put away
Online shopping done
Essential shopping done

Right - tomorrows list :

Be in for shopping delivery and put it all away
Two loads of washing
Order storage for the playroom
Bake lemon drizzle cake for seeing friends

I'm not as ambitious as the rest of you but I know my limits!

MrsMangoBiscuit · 23/01/2012 07:23

Hello all, I'm now feeling much better and just in time as I got away for 3 days tomorrow, leaving DH and DD for the first time. So my jobs for today are:

Pack my bag for tomorrow
Clean both bathrooms
Clean kitchen
Bake some brownies to take with me (and maybe some cookies for playgroup)
One load of washing on and dried (DH can put it away when I'm gone!)
Post the lovefilm discs
Leave instructions for food while I'm away
Pack DDs nursery bag
Prepare dinner before playgroup this afternoon
Take DD to playgroup

Looking at that I think I might be being a bit overly ambitious, I'm now feeling pretty glad DD woke me up early! Grin

MrsMangoBiscuit · 23/01/2012 07:24

*go away

Must add "preview all mumsnet posts" to my list! Blush
