Babysteps and missions.

Sunday is renew your spirit day and seeing as today is new years days I hope there aren't too many evil hangovers in existance.

Babystep 1: shine you shine. yes we know this one but do you shine it the fat fairy way? cant remember? check here

And for a treat as it is sunday no mission.

Oh and can i just may 2012 bring you productive decluttering and flying so your houses step closer to those of your dreams and house work no longer be that evil monster that dominates.

ANTM?! Ooooh Grin

Right, back. My sneaky (or not so sneaky!) pleasure.

Feeling crappy, but bread was done and lovely with the slow cooked chicken - next time need HEAPS more garlic and herbs as it was a bit bland, but it was a doddle to do and the chicken literally fell apart. Still, can use the leftovers for a stir fry tomorrow.

Going to empty bins etc now as it's bins tomorrow and tidy kitchen. Then Sherlock before bed.

waves to everyone

justonemorejingle · 08/01/2012 20:23

Just too tired to catch up with all of the above. Been pretty much on my own with both children all weekend and am done in now!
Anyway, house is fairly clean.
Dead Christmas tree is still in the hallway in front of the front door. DH literally has to walk around it to get out of the house (as we all do).

No Way am I taking it downstairs (He wanted the tree, I told him if he wanted it he'd have to take it down). Not sure how much longer I can resist before it goes on my to do list though!!!

Anyway, also:
Change back mn name
clean bathroom
Plan lunch for tomorrow DD2 and little friend
Study (please let me find some motivation tonight)

Good night all!

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 08/01/2012 21:12

Me too Just - DH has been at work all weekend, got in about an hour ago, has just plonked himself on the sofa to watch Sherlock and the SKy box, which has been fine all weekend has packed up. Cue much cursing.

Our tree is just outside the front door too, I will take it to the tip somehow tomorrow, DH left the last one till November....

Flying - yes, love chicken out of the slowcooker, I was going to do that today but ended up taking the DCs out for lunch so none of us wanted another hot meal tonight, it will be going in the pot tomorrow. I usually chuck in a stock cube, some wine, some onions, bayleaf, paresley, peppercorns, carrots, all the stuff I would use to make stock with really.

DWM - what's ANTM? Good to see you back.

Nettie - hope tomorrow is better.

I'm going to sign off as I haven't done much Flying and there is a huge heap of clean washing to sort out before I can put out school uniforms etc. See you all tomorrow.

laurenamium · 08/01/2012 21:30

IceColdBitchy · 08/01/2012 21:43

I have lost the plot and reached the point where hiring a very very large skip and throwing everything in the house into it and running away seems very appealing :(

OP posts:
Flyingoutofcontrol · 08/01/2012 21:55

Bitchy Sad

Come tell aunty Flying all about it.

Lifebeginsatforty · 08/01/2012 21:55

DW what does "cook Herman" mean? Sorry you've been feeling down.

Bitchy please resist running away. We would really miss you here. Hope you manage to sleep tonight.

IceColdBitchy · 08/01/2012 22:08

I don't even know where to start anymore. Can't do one job because it relys on something else being done. So much stuff. Soooo much past with bad memories to be dealt with. And i need to deal with it to move on. I suspect pms is partly to blame but am fed of fighting to stay in one place and want to move forwards. No sleep. no pain but no sleep. don't want to. Sitting in the office hell hole and trying to figure out what the hell to do.

OP posts:
Flyingoutofcontrol · 08/01/2012 22:21

Bitchy you need to stop. Now. Breathe. Shut your eyes. Imagine a candle. Watch the flame and breathe in and out. If your mind wanders, think of the candle.

Now, go see your doctor tomorrow and talk to them about anxiety/sleep meds if you haven't already,

I'm newish to the thread so admittedly don't know the background, but you sound like you're in a place I've been, and it's not fun. It's not depression (or it might be) but it's a not coping due to lack of sleep and you nee to get it sorted. Either way, talk to your GP about some help please?

After all, if you run away - who will run the naughty corner bar?!

And sod MNet etiquette - have a big HUG !

IceColdBitchy · 08/01/2012 22:33

That actually made me laugh. It's not drepression. Just an overwhelming feeling of being stuck. And unemployable. Tbh this mood is usually triggered when the issue of cv review and trying to get a job and get out of this situation. Stems from the failure of something i really wanted to do career wise due to circumstances beyond my control. And something I have no chance a retrying. No idea what i am going to do but need to sort out that aspect. Unfortunately that and ds' various quirks are why i also have boxes and boxes of past that need dealing with. And until i deal with them and find a way to move forwad job wise I am unable to move forwards. And knowing where to start with that is beyond me. So I am doing some pissed off decluttering. Well atm paperwork filing.

OP posts:
IceColdBitchy · 08/01/2012 22:35

Can anyone see why i have old insurance certificates and MOT reports? Safe to shred right?

OP posts:
Flyingoutofcontrol · 08/01/2012 22:35

I'd employ you Grin

Wanna be my cleaner?!

Glad it's not depression though.

Still, breathe Wink Grin

Flyingoutofcontrol · 08/01/2012 22:36

And yes to car stuff. Only need the current one.

IceColdBitchy · 08/01/2012 22:40

Fabulous. Cos I am right royal fed up with the past shit and ready to be shot of it now

Thanks Smile Kind words helped. I just need to get this done and might say sod the sleep pattern atm and deal with the clutter so that emotionally can feel a bit freer iyswim.

IceColdBitchy · 09/01/2012 05:06

Right after my minor meltdown last night, and having not slept but been uber productive i am feeling better. You can now get in the office. I have 3 boxes minimum of old toys to be ebayed/charity shopped/car booted (although need to go through a box in those categorys). I have sorted a box of fabric out for donating to a charity who make stuff to raise money. I have created 4 carrier bags of rubbish, a large boxful and a couple of bags of recycling, and a couple of bags of shredding. The desk has been cleaned (although I am about to finish the half sorted paperwork off my bed onto it as I suspect i wont file the sorted paper work for a few days weeks and i have discovered that there is more then enough pens, pencils etc to start a shop dedicated to it. Explains why we haven't been able to find any for the last couple of years Blush. I have also created a pile of paperwork that needs fairly urgent attention. And listed the urgent craft projects in terms of what needs to be done to complete them, as well as some of the ufos. Must admit I do like a good list Blush. Oh and most importantly I have aggrevated my dust allergy to the point where I feel like yuck. However, having damp dusted and aired it will be better in the long run even though i will be sneezy for the next week or so

I am feeling better for having been productive. And better for having made an in road in something that felt so impossible a couple of hours ago. Next on the plan of action is a shower and to go out. Early start day. however, whilst i shall neglect the round up for now I do owe you the links so here goes:

Linkies:

Monday is home bleurgh day

babystep 9; declutter the fly lady way...

We are in zone 2 which is the kitchen or whatever you have designated to be zone two iyswim
Missions are here

Hope you have good days!!!!

Oh and good morning

OP posts:
Flyingoutofcontrol · 09/01/2012 06:18

Morning Bitchy glad you're more like your positive self this morning.

Will post a list later when working, but guests this pm so list will mainly be.... EEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKK! and panicking Grin

Lifebeginsatforty · 09/01/2012 06:57

Bitchy glad you're feeling more positive having been able to get through something. Really hope by the end of the day that you feel more able to sort out the sleep thing. Lack of sleep so skews your perspective on everything. Hope you can build on your positive feeling to help with CV reviewing.

LinzerTorte · 09/01/2012 07:10

Morning all,

Back to school here today - getting up at 5.30 am was a bit of a shock to the system, but I'm enjoying the peace and quiet here now. Am hoping to be able to keep up with the thread a bit better now that everyone's out of the house especially DH and I'm also feeling quite inspired FLYing-wise. I did quite a bit of decluttering and sorting over the Christmas holidays; there's still a long way to go, but I feel a lot better about it all for having made a start.

I like your boxes idea, ChitChatting - we have lots of storage space in the cellar but it's a bit of a tip down there atm. I really need to organise the space better so that I know where everything is.

Glad you're feeling more positive this morning, Bitchy. Being productive always helps my mood too.

Flying Do you have time for a crisis clean? That always helps me feel a bit more in control when we have visitors.

Talking of visitors, am quite excited as my best friend from primary school is coming to visit in April. Checked with DH first that it would be OK to invite them to stay (they were coming over to V. anyway); he asked, "Is it two of them?" Had to break it to him that there would actually be six! Am hoping that this will motivate him to get the upstairs bathroom done, as one bathroom between 11 may involve quite a lot of waiting. Grin

LinzerTorte · 09/01/2012 07:13

Lifebegins I was also wondering about Herman, but about two minutes later saw a picture someone had posted on FB of their Herman friendship cake. What exactly a friendship cake is and why it's called Herman, I have no idea - must google. Grin

Lifebeginsatforty · 09/01/2012 08:06

Linzer that's almost disappointing Wink. I had visions of some as yet unknown (to me) animal slowly cooking in a huge pot on the stove.

I'm quite excited/apprehensive today as I am finally going to see a childminder. I have another one booked to visit on Thursday as well. I am such a procrastinator, I've been meaning to do this since October. Hoping DS will be able to start 2 days a week in February. Then I'll have 1 day just with DD and 1 day all to myself. Grin But I really have no idea what I'm supposed to ask/look for in a childminder. I have printed off a list of questions from the council website so we'll see.

To do:
washing on
dishwasher
clear breakfast
DC dressed
package up two parcels for returning
nursery run
time the walk up to the childminder
swim
what's for dinner
nursery run again
look over this month's spending plan again
online sales shop

Would like to add more, but realistically I should be able to complete that by teatime. No decluttering in there, but if I get the childminder sorted out.....[dreamy emoticom]

swanthingafteranother · 09/01/2012 09:22

Blue you had a good day! btw adjusting car seat straps has to be my worst nightmare, it bring me out in a cold sweat thinking about car seats (thank the lord mine are now too tall for them) 3 in a row was the pits...

Nettie we had dd screaming continuously on return from art gallery, only suspended by ice skating on tv and a brief rant about her party, also refused to eat supper with us Hmm I think she was tired....I had a word with Dh about getting cross with her when she is unreasonable (she was SOOO U) as it makes things worse. Bedtime has now been brought forward to 7.30. She is 9.
Forty so agree with frittering problems, however it is quite a mental effort to clear the decks before the weekend isn't it, somehow seems like the place to catch up with jobs, although I find that is wrong way to approach w/e.
Toffee dh has only just started taking dcs to museums as he spent his childhood being dragged round them; his dad was art historian. I find they still prefer the chasing each other round the corridors/shop to the exhibits, but it is slowly beginning to grab them. Ds2 is the best museum/gallery goer -I think he is the only intellectual Shock Dd bought an art sticker book, she is showing an interest too, though DH said she was not at all interested in the gallery Confused I think next time we should take her friend too..

Hello all happy new year, I dipped in here before Christmas, did my list to appoint and decided meh we not having anyone over anyway and let go.....

Consequently the house was errr cluttered just about clean where it mattered last week but never got much done as v tired I'm 33+6 and seemed to have used my nesting energy up iin December. I feel well and have a puma this am, so hope it's ok to visit thread. So I have my I cream cone timer, doing blocks of 15 mins. Rewarding self by ordering new shoes and possible slouchy top later.

DS and I, washed and dressed, done
Breakfast, done
School run, done
Laundry 1 in, done

Remove toys from DS room for storage Sad he's grown out of Thomas engines
Dust and Hoover
Strip bedding
Store new toys grrrr play mobile its lovely but oh the bits.....Grin

Thinking this may take me up to lunch time including breaks. Happy flying all.

bigeyes · 09/01/2012 09:25

pma not puma lol what good would a puma be?

swanthingafteranother · 09/01/2012 09:28

oh yes, and load of laundry to laundrette, and brought home to dry, so washing EVERYWHERE. done

today
Ice so understand that feelign of goign round in circles (if not on ice)
atm I tie myself in knots about meals, craft, paperwork, volunteering slots, books and all and sundry..Only thing that sustains me is the regularity of the things that dcs HAVE to do or go to, at least I can't negotiate any of them...

I think it all boils down to this, the stuff I have is all part of the stuff I WANT TO do (research, read, help kids with homework, garden design, sew, cook, garden, house renovation) but the stuff I have is preventing me from actually doing any of those things plus CHAOS, because I spend so much time moving stuff around and tidying it....Confused

Anyway there must be a solution mustn't there. Just keep tidying!
