I have to study, pick the boy up from nursery, try and make it home without a tantrum if I won't carry him and make dinner. I got quite a lot done yesterday so can relax a bit more today

booyhoo · 05/10/2011 11:54

oh good.

i actually sat down before the weekend and worked out my 'perfect' Hmm daily schedule. in theory it is a great schedule and really not a lot of work in it but i am such a procrastinator that i have yet to put it into practise Blush. i have divided my day into 5 sections;
1- wake up until school run
2- school run until lunch
3- lunch until school pick up
4- school pick up until dinner
5- dinner until kids' bedtime

it may seem a bit too controlled but i work best when i have a definite time frame in which to do something rather than thinking i have all day to clean the living room or lift the dog poo etc because then i never get round to it.

here's my list for today

1)beds
litter tray
dinner prep
dishes
hang wash
lift dog poo
wipe sink and loo

2)clean hall stairs and landing (dust, hoover and mop)

  1. lunch dishes bills/paperwork 45 minute job (whatever i can get done in 45 minutes-lots of decluttering to be done in my house)

4)15 minute whizz round

5)dinner dishes
tumble washing
fold washing
put away washing
set out new clothes

off now to see if i can at least do my section 1 jobs before school pick up.

pyjamasinbananas · 05/10/2011 12:20

Oh that's a good idea! I might try splitting my day up and I might get more done like I would if I deleted the mn app

CeliaFate · 05/10/2011 12:45

I'll join in!

I've :
made beds
cleaned bathroom
hoovered and polished lounge, hall, dining room and kitchen
done 2 loads of washing
cleaned the tumble dryer condenser
cleared out fridge
put internet shop away

Left to do today is:
put ironing away
put clean towels away
sort dinner
Mop bathroom

AutumnHues · 05/10/2011 13:32

Have stopped for a brew. Brew

Have done:
Load washing machine and turn on
some washing up/drying up
lunch.
fed cat

Wow you have quite long lists!

I'm a bit of a slow worker -procrastinator- so I don't always get huge amounts done in a day. I tend to find I am busy between getting ds from school and bedtime! (I don't always get time to Mumsnet at that time of day)

Hi, nice new thread.
Not done too well today so far, went to visit my Nephews at my PIL. had a nice squishy snuggle with the tiny one. Got home, had lunch, put DS2 down for a nap and fell asleep myself! Just got rudely awoken by the next delivery lady.
To do;
washing up,
washing on and out,
tidy the front room,
put clean clothes away.

Small list, have much more to do really but am knackered and feeling sick today. If I get these done i will be pleased.
Have started keeping flash spray and kitchen roll in both bathrooms and just giving the sinks and toilets a once over before I go to bed and then when I get in from taking DS to school. Has really made a difference.

notso · 05/10/2011 14:15

Autumn I know what you mean 3.30 until bedtime seem to disappear in my house. I can't MN after 9.00 now as I have to turn the modem off or DD sneaks onto her Ipod when she's mean't to be in bed.

schroeder · 05/10/2011 14:27

Oh notso-wouldn't it be better to remove ipod?

I have:
Got dd up + ready for school, not that she needs much help now. ds is an angel and sorts himself out.
Studied 1 1/2 hours. I meant to do longer, but it's hard getting back into it.
Hung up 2 loads of washing
Swept and mopped kitchen floor + disinfected bins and litter tray.
Made trifle.

Oh it looks quite a lot now I write it down.

Still to do-
Collect dd
Ironing
Cook tea
Slob out on the sofa drinking wine and painting my nails Smile

booyhoo · 05/10/2011 16:31

got section 1 completed and also got a back log of 'to-be-put-away' washing put away. did school pick up and had a couple of messages to run then got the kitchen hoovered and mopped and my cousin arrived in for a cuppa. (perfect timing eh?) she's just left and ds2 has decided to get really tired all of a sudden so he has gone for a nap and i thought I'd update here. not going to worry about sections 2 or 3 for today, i'll have a 15 minute whizz round now and then start the dinner.

notso · 05/10/2011 17:15

Probably schroeder but she has guilted me into not doing that as we got her a docking station which is also an alarm clock for her birthday. She uses that to get her up in the mornings.

I have done nothing from the list. Sad I am knackered and DS2 is grizzly.
Must make a bit of an effort now DH will be home soon.

AutumnHues · 05/10/2011 22:41

booyhoo · 06/10/2011 14:21

i deviated a bit from my list today bt it was all stuff that should already have been done this week anyway.

beds done
litter tray done
dinner prep done
dishes done

i have also,
swept kitchen floor
done windows, dusting and hoovering in all upstairs rooms
cleaned the bathroom
folded some washing

i have collected ds1 from school and have to run a few errands, will hopefully get the rest of the windows and dusting done downstairs, hoover the stairs, the hall and living room and then mop the whole house before collecting ds2 from nursery later.
