You are all going to be so disappointed. My hobby is horse riding. Ta da!! I really wasn't trying to be coy. I didn't realise you were all so nosey took such an interest in fellow thread members Grin I am totally mortified that it is not hang gliding or rally racing or anything a bit more adventurous Blush

oooh, can I join in the wallowing too? I have washed one load of laundry today, I can see it sitting all wet in the basket.

DD2 isn't napping because an over-tired DD1 had a paddy & woke her up. (DD1 is thankfully asleep in bed now). If I put DD2 down, she starts crying because she's so tired, but she won't sleep in bed or on me. She's also brought up some of her last feed & I have a wet leg on my jeans. I would get changed, but I know that if I do that she'll just be sick on the new pair too.

The house is a mess & we have 2 birthday parties & a family thing this weekend (thankfully none of them here)

carrots you always seem to be baking for fundraisers, hope you manage to get to bed early tonight. I would love to goto sleep right now, except DD2 has just been sick on my bed. Looks like i'll be changing the sheets then.

Carrotsandcelery · 04/11/2011 16:36

Oh bessie jump in and wallow away, that sounds grim.

Ds was a projectile vomiter and I eventually limited myself to one outfit a day unless he got me from head to toe or someone "special" was coming round. It was partly due to being a size 10 before I was pregnant with him and a 16 after I had him, making my clothing options seriously limited.

I have baked 5 things, I think that is at least my fair share. We live in a small village bessie so everyone needs to pitch in when there are fundraisers. Usually it is a good laugh too but right now I am just a bit fed up. I will get over it.

This gave me a bit of a giggle

Ouch, you cow, that made me laugh....laughing bloody hurts!

Just waiting in for the Reflexologist. Typically I am feeling better and moving around better. But it still bloody painful, and will be a nice treat to be all relaxed hopefully, DH has taken DD out to do some food shopping and to the pub for some daddy time.

beginning to feel a bit less wallowy.

Hope your day looks up too Bessie and Carrots. Thank Crunchie it's friday, that;s all I can say.

Carrotsandcelery · 04/11/2011 17:02

My ddad has just invited me and dcs round for pizza for tea. I have cheered up a bit more Grin

Grin, Carrots. Not only do you get food & company, you get the evening off washing up.

Glad you're feeling a bit better, missmakes - take it easy and don't overdo it.

bessie, hope things improve from here on.

After feeling shattered all day I've had a burst of energy. I've hoovered a bit, tidied a bit and am making soup with leftover butternut squash - mmmm. I need to start packing for a visit to the PILs tomorrow/Sunday.

Can anyone give me an idea of what to buy a 2 year old girl for a birthday present? I have no real idea what she likes to do (I've seen her playing with a toy kitchen and with bags). I can't go by what DS likes, at that revolves around trains of all types. And tractors and diggers, of course. The party is on Monday afternoon and I'm panicking!

bessie26 · 04/11/2011 22:39

mmmm I do like a bit of butternut squash soup angel!

How about giving the 2yo some books? They are always good! For DD1s birthday/xmas last year she got diggers, trucks, trains, a doll, a (pink) broom, dustpan&brush. She would have loved anything to do with waybaloo, night garden, Peppa pig or Charlie & Lola.

DD2 hasn't brought up any of her feeds for a week & today it is suddenly awful again, I just don't understand why it keeps coming & going like this I got her to nap for 45min earlier, but I spent that changing my bed sheets and tidying the kitchen.

This evening i've done a bit of laundry, but mainly I've eaten take-away & watched tv spent some quality time with DH as he's out tomorrow night.

AngelDog · 05/11/2011 08:17

Yes, books would be a good idea. It's hard to know where to start otherwise! I do help in a creche where she stays for an hour a week, but I've always been too busy looking after babies to see what she's spent her time doing.

Sounds tough with DD2. Sending sympathy and Brew.

BlackCatinaWoollyhat · 05/11/2011 09:59

Morning all, Feeling very tired again. Still not sleeping enough. Bed at 11.00pm and was up at 5.00am. I just can't seem to get back to sleep if I wake in the night/early morning.

I am worrying too much as well. Things going on in my head:

Last night worrying about DH family and friends, They live in Somerset and there was an awful accident on Motorway so just hope everyone is ok. Got hold of DH mum and she is o.k, just hope everyone else is alright. Just have to go with the hope that no news is good news! Feel awful for all those involved and their families.

Also got a fake email from a bank so had the worry of that.

Then I have the ongoing stress of DD potty training

Sorry all, Just needed to get it all out.

bessie26 · 05/11/2011 11:12

I was up at 1130 & 330 with DD2 last night, did still manage to get DD1 to her 9am haircut though!

has nothing to do with cleaning, but it always makes me laugh.

Hope you all have a good day, we've got a party to go to this afternoon (bang in the middle of nap time) so could be in for some fun...

GossipWitch · 05/11/2011 12:24

Dp's home all is well with the world lol x x x

Carrotsandcelery · 05/11/2011 13:16

Hello everyone. I went to bed early last night and the 5 am wake up call from ds didn't feel so bad.

I have spent the morning helping out at the fundraiser, come home and baked some more for it and I am now having a breather before I go back to it this afternoon.

Then it will be hot bath, play with dcs and tortillas and dip with dh and a dvd. Grin

I have postponed the family party tomorrow. I felt too tired, the dcs are pale faced and exhausted looking and one member of the wider family has been poorly this week and could do with a quiet afternoon too.

Ds just needs to chill out and play with his loot and I would really like to spend some more time doing that with him. Grin

black I know what you mean about worrying in bed. Dh keeps a notebook and writes things down to get them out of his head. You could also try some lavendar on your pillow and calmomile tea in the evening to help you relax. Bach's rescue remedy night drops also help.

My dniece is 2 and loves simple wooden jigsaws, fisher price little people, Happyland from ELC and 123Playmobil. She also loves wooden blocks and simple counting.

Feeling a bit better now. Had a couple of hours sleep this afternoon, and as far as we know family are o.k in Somerset.

Carrotsandcelery · 05/11/2011 20:16

I am very Angry. Dh, who has had at least 2 naps on the sofa today, is moaning at me about the mess. He even had the gaul to throw a bit of Playmobil into a random box. My blood is boiling. Angry

OP posts:
bessie26 · 05/11/2011 20:58

carrots could you build some kind of playmobil fort to keep him away from it?

well done for cancelling the party, hope you get lots of time to play with the Playmobil DC tomorrow.

I am Shock and Grin at "123 Playmobil" - I didn't know you could get it for little kiddies

Carrotsandcelery · 05/11/2011 21:49

bessie I got my dniece the Ark and she is also getting the zoo. They both look fantastic.

On the dh front, he is now eating Doritos. I will not eat... I will not eat... I will not eat... I think he is crunching them extra loud to tempt me [help emoticon]

Carrotsandcelery · 06/11/2011 09:10

Morning all. I have been strangely industrious this morning. Ds's sleep problems mean I spend a lot of nights in the spare room. I got fed up sleeping with a lot of clutter around me so the room has been decluttered, and then the top shelf of the wardrobe. Dh is going to be delighted when he gets up to find the pile of stuff to go up in the loft Shock but then he can't have it all ways. If he doesn't like the mess he is going to have to help to deal with it. Grin

OP posts:
Carrotsandcelery · 06/11/2011 09:12

Dd has also just headed up to the shop by herself to buy milk, eggs and rolls as dh refused to go yesterday. I will be watching the clock until she gets back. She is 10 and should manage these things no problem but I am always a bit jumpy about it.

OP posts:
bessie26 · 06/11/2011 09:19

carrots I am dreading the time that I need to let the DDs go out by themselves like that. Silly aren't we?!

I like to leave DH piles of stuff to go up into the loft too, it's the only way I can get stuff down too! The other week I also had to threaten to go out & buy all new weaning stuff before he would go up & get DD1s stuff down!

There won't be much flying done here today, we're at another party this morning, then lunch at my parents... Oh well, at least the house won't get any dirtier!

Carrotsandcelery · 06/11/2011 09:41

Dd is home safe and sound Grin but I have had another row with dh (who tidied up my breakfast stuff when I was half way through making my breakfast but left his own porridge pan on the cooker not in soak) Sad I hate it when we get like this. I can see it is both of us but he thinks it is all me. Sad

OP posts:
Carrotsandcelery · 06/11/2011 12:05

Me again. That is spare room, dd's room, ds's room and landing decluttered and hoovered. There is some dusting to be done there but we are going one toddler step at a time. It does feel like progress though.

Carrotsandcelery · 06/11/2011 12:19

I am Blush I just found 2 of the dcs Easter Eggs Shock

OP posts:
bessie26 · 06/11/2011 18:24

What have you done with them carrots?

Exciting news here is that DD1 has finally done a poo, and that my DDs are going to have another cousin Grin It's my DSB, who we only really see once a year, but another baby is always nice

Tonight, I have to prep tomorrow's lunch in the slow cooler, vacuum the living room (the cats have left chunks of fur all over the house) and do all my Sunday chores. Then I've got a little tiny bottle of wine to drink before getting an early night

Carrotsandcelery · 06/11/2011 18:35

Oooh! Congratulations bessie on the new niece or nephew and on dd's poo. (another sentence I never thought I would write in my life)! Babies are fab.

I used the eggs to bribe the dcs to do more jobs around the house Grin They were only tiny ones but they thought it was magic.

Dh and I seem to have cheered up a bit too. Dh even did some tidying and has put the huge pile up in the loft so I think he realises it takes a team effort.

I forgot to tell you bessie that I finally got a slow cooker. I plan to try it out on Wednesday with a goulash and see what happens. We just got a really cheap Tesco one until we see how often we use it. I am worried about having enough recipes to make it worthwhile. I will be scouring your blog for ideas again.

We have just had toad in the hole with onion gravy etc. Yummy. That seems to have fortified everyone too.

Gossip I hope you are having a happy time with dp.
Black I hope the news is still good for your family in Somerset.

OP posts:
bessie26 · 06/11/2011 19:44

We have to wait until June to see what flavour baby it is

My oven is broken & is unlikely to be fixed for another week, so the slow cooker will be getting alit of use carrots. I recommend quorn spag bol, Thai red curry, & I'm just about to prep up a slow cooker version of that Spanish Casserole you tried before for our lunch tomorrow.

Must go, want to get everything done then have a bath Smile Hope you've all had good weekends?
