Anybody interested in joining me for a flylady thread, starting with the babysteps?

I joined a thread which started in January and it made an enormous difference to the condition and calm of the household.

I have lapsed Blush and thought I would go back to basics and start again.

Anyone want to join me?

My dcs go back to school on Tuesday so I thought I would start on Tuesday morning.

Oh dear! Sympathies all round for lack of sleep. I got 5 hours and by the sounds of this I should be grateful for them Shock

Gossip I hope ds is ok. Tonsilitus is horrible. Has he had it often? Ice lollies, jellies and thin soups help if he can swallow anything at all. Try to keep him hydrated but I appreciate that is easier said than done.

miss I hope you get a rest today. Teaching is a much tougher job than many people appreciate. I continued for a while after I had dd but after ds the childcare costs meant it just wasn't worthwhile. I have to admit I was relieved as, although I had loved my job, I found it so gruelling once I had dcs. I take my hat off to you Grin

Soooo, today!

I have:
washed & dressed to shoes
made packed lunches
filled dishwasher
made tonight's tea

Still to do:
more laundry
clean worktops
room rescue kitchen
hot spot kitchen table
hot spot kitchen sofas and stool
15 mins declutter in study
some ironing.
see friends for coffee Grin
today's babystep which some of you will have done already
today's mission which I did on Saturday so I think I can let myself off

I don't have much time on my hands today but I will see how much I can get through.

I hope everyone has a productive day.

Gossip I hope ds gets better soon.

This morning went fairly well apart from dd throwing the odd tantrum.
I Have done:
Make bed
Get dressed (all)
Breakfast for all (turned tele off till they had it)Wink
Took ds to school
made a train track for dd (she's mad about thomas the tank!)

To do:
Have a snack (feeling a bit hungry!)
wash up/ dry up
do a declutter of welsh dresser ( it's piled up again!)
lunch
Hoover?
pick up ds from school
More washing up
cook dinner

I think I am doing my own version of baby steps as there are things you need to do which she doesn't mention. I think you just have to fit it around your own life.Wink

Canistaysane · 07/09/2011 12:08

Just phoned doctor about some blood tests I had done, They said I have to see the doctor.Shock I am worrying now about what it could be. I won't find out till Friday. It could be to do with my joints as they do ache sometimes or it could be something else! .SadHmmConfused

obrigada · 07/09/2011 12:25

Gossip, hope your ds feels better soon, tonsilitis can take a lot out of you.
CanI hope everything turns out ok with the doctor, it's always the waiting that is the worst part.
Didn't get to do any decluttering last night, had to visit friend and time was against me. Was up early this morning, so sink is shining, one load of washing out, showered and dressed to shoes (no choice in that one, as I am not sure they would like if I came into work undressed:)) Did a couple of 2 min hotspots as well! So instead of moving forward a babystep I am going to see if I can complete yesterdays one first.

LittleMissProcrastinator · 07/09/2011 14:25

Hi I've namechanged again, Can anyone guess who I was?Grin

LittleMissProcrastinator · 07/09/2011 14:50

The clues in the name!

Carrotsandcelery · 07/09/2011 15:02

Is that you there miss?

Why the name change? Have you done or said something scandalous? Or have you been flamed somewhere ?

Having a quick lunch break. I did a bit of decluttering, went out to my friend's for coffee, came home and did some more decluttering and then got distracted putting my first few items on ebay. I am so excited/nervous but hopefully this will add a bit of fun to the declutter and put a bit of cash in the pot for Christmas. Fingers crossed!

Carrotsandcelery · 07/09/2011 15:05

Cani I have had a scary wait for the doc before and it has always turned out to be something silly or no big deal at all. It is not nice while you are waiting though.

Can you distract yourself with the radio on load and some major decluttering? Grin

LittleMissProcrastinator · 07/09/2011 16:03

No, It's not Missmakesstuff.
Shall I tell you or would you like to keep guessing?

LittleMissProcrastinator · 07/09/2011 16:21

I just thought this name describes me well sometimes, although I would like to change. I often find myself procrastinating instead of getting on with it.Grin
I always seem to have washing up to do.
Can you guess yet?

obrigada · 07/09/2011 16:30

Canistaysane?? Littlemiss?? or am I way off base?

LittleMissProcrastinator · 07/09/2011 16:33

Yes you win Obrigada I think my last clue gave it away!

obrigada · 07/09/2011 16:39

It did Littlemiss Grin

LittleMissProcrastinator · 07/09/2011 16:46

I'll have to go now as dh will be home and want his dinner.

LittleMissProcrastinator · 07/09/2011 18:36

Have done:
15 min declutter of welsh dresser
procrastinated for a while and worried about blood test results
wash up/dry up
pick up ds from school
Went on MNWink
Cooked dinner
washed up some more
Have now stopped again for a rest.
How is everyone else today?

bessie26 · 07/09/2011 19:28

littlemiss do you have to SEE the dr? My surgery are always happy to discuss my test results over the phone which is great as it happens much quicker & I don't have to faff about getting me & DDs to the surgery!

Carrotsandcelery · 07/09/2011 19:42

Aha! I should have guessed that first time around. I am trying to imagine what the Roger Hargreaves character would look like Grin

OP posts:
LittleMissProcrastinator · 07/09/2011 20:00

bessie I am getting my ear syringed this Friday so I made an appointment for the same day around the same time, otherwise I suppose I could have just spoke to the doctor over the phone.
Carrots Who is Roger Hargreaves? the name rings a bell, was he an author?

Carrotsandcelery · 07/09/2011 20:08

He wrote the Mr Men books and the Little Miss ones too (I think)

OP posts:
missmakesstuff · 07/09/2011 20:10

Littlemiss I hope you don't worry too much before then, I have heard cleaning is good for keeping you distracted! Your new name does remind me of some graffiti I once saw, 'Procrastinate NOW!'
Tomorrow is my day off carrots and I have never been so pleased to see the end of a wednesday! I am going to have a night off working tonight, then back on it while DD naps and again tomorrow evening, I reckon if I do a couple of hours Sunday/Mon/Tues and Thurs evening then I should get on top of it all and can have a free-ish evening once DD goes to bed on a Wednesday and at the weekends, so it's not too bad. I do find it brutal when at school, but I tend to relax and not do too much of a weekend or in the holidays, apart from sorting my classroom and some planning, I generally scarper so no-one can bother me! Once I am in the swing of things it'll be fine, especially if DD will just sleep a bit better - she is so restless when asleeep at the moment, I don't know what is up with her.
The house is still looking good, although I have been manic in the evenings I haven't felt like it's getting on top of me, I have been doing a small wash every other evening, and have already done the mission and babystep, I must be psychic!
I find getting in from work the most stressful, getting DD fed, (it's 6pm so she is ravenous), unpacking bags, sometimes have shopping to put away, dinner to put on, but it's all done by 8pm, then I have a few hours of quiet whilst DH watches endless bloody American Hotrod or 'how things are made' on quest. He is such a geek...
I have such a long list tomorrow, almost feel bad boring you all with it...

Morning routine
Park car and try to avoid getting ticket
Mission from Tuesday and Monday
wait for boiler man
Hopefully have shower
Hopefully do shopping and recycling
Hopefully go swimming with friend (all hinges on how long boilerman takes to come!)
Work whilst DD naps
Errands in town
Sewing to do
Sort dinner
DD bed
School work
Bed! Earlier than midnight hopefully...

Carrotsandcelery · 07/09/2011 20:22

missmakes my dh and the dcs love that programme. I have to admit I got sucked in one day when they were making chopped onions Blush

OP posts:
LittleMissProcrastinator · 07/09/2011 20:23

Carrots your right! I wonder if I've just invented a new characterGrin.
There isn't one on the back of this book I have here.
Missmakes I hope your boiler man can fix your boiler. My dh watches those sort of programs too and he likes Top Gear.

GossipWitch · 07/09/2011 20:34

Well after last nights eventfulness ds2 is doing much better and is asleep for the 1st time today however his temp is creeping up to sweating point so I may just have to sleep dose him and see if it works (does not take medicine well, any tips would be greatly appreciated) haven't done many baby steps today, in fact I emptied the bin and 5min the lounge and that's it, but I was ohhhh so glad that I shined the sink yesterday, my grandmother followed the paramedic in to the kitchen to apologise for the sink full of pots she thought may be in there on my behalf, as there was a calpol incident and she needed to wash her hands, in my shiny sinkGrin I think my grandmother may have choked, Wink there was also an ibuprofen incident in the hospital as well, the nurse administering it had very sticky hair and one sticky eye due to said incident, there just has to be an easier way ?

GossipWitch · 07/09/2011 20:37

ohhhh and miss makes my dp explains the workings of that hotrod show every friday night, best part is im missing my only availiable night of soaps because of it, I generally try to pre occupy him with something while I get to watch it Wink
