I joined a thread which started in January and it made an enormous difference to the condition and calm of the household.

I have lapsed Blush and thought I would go back to basics and start again.

Anyone want to join me?

My dcs go back to school on Tuesday so I thought I would start on Tuesday morning.

GossipWitch · 26/08/2011 22:51

I have been dreadful today, I have the start of a cold and child who thinks he's a chav and can talk to me with that chavvy attitude, and this is the first time I've been on mn all day due to virtual window shopping and i have accomplished :-
-Naff all, no I'm only joking
-got dressed to shoes
-took ds2 creche and ds1 for breakfast
-brought some cushions
-painted a mug with ds1
-got ds2
-cooked tea
and put a load of washing in and swept the bathroom floor of talc.
I will do everything properly again tomorrow !!!

GossipWitch · 26/08/2011 22:52

ooohhhhh I tidied and hoovered the lounge and hallway too.

AngelDog · 26/08/2011 23:16

Medicinal chocolate definitely required, cani, and don't beat yourself up about things. I've got to have my ear syringed too, tomorrow. I felt much better after having had the previous one done the other week.

Done

  • wiped table & high chair
  • loaded dishwasher
  • filled nappy bag ready to go out
  • made DS some lunch
  • emptied shopping from pushchair
  • popped to Morrisons
  • cooked dinner
  • put on more washing & hung it out
  • put away some dry washing
  • made brownies (and sampled for quality control purposes, nom nom nom Grin)
  • wiped up kitchen
  • washed up

Phew, I'm ready for bed. Sink is clean but with drying pots on the draining board.

Tomorrow:

  • make vegetable kebabs for bbq
  • find sun tent (ha!)
  • go to doctor's
  • pack up necessaries for afternoon/evening out at campsite (coming home before bedtime though).
bessie26 · 26/08/2011 23:22

Today I have:

  • done laundry
  • visited a friend
  • got the printer working
  • spent some time on the sofa with DH

But I've realised I haven't done ANY of my babysteps Blush

  • Shine sink
  • 2min hotspot
  • Another 2min hotspot
  • Pick out clothes (I only do this for DDs)
  • 5 min room rescue (bedroom first)
  • 15 min declutter (bedroom first)

I've just done my very first dreamfeed, & am planning to go straight to bed the moment DD2 is in hers in the hope that i get a good few hours sleep so won't get anything else done tonight & we hope to goto the zoo tomorrow so shan't get much done then either! Ooops!

Canistaysane · 27/08/2011 09:48

Kitchen is next, then 15 min break.

Canistaysane · 27/08/2011 10:20

Will rest if knee or wrist hurt too much, I like the sound of chocolates!Grin Might treat myself to some later(need to go food shopping later).

Carrotsandcelery · 27/08/2011 10:35

bessie have a fab time at the zoo.
gossip I like your list, especially the bf, nan and tv sections.
cani well done but just take it easy. I do expect you to buy the prescribed chocolates today though, even if it is the only thing you can manage to carry out of the supermarket.

Today we are on babystep 12 which, for me, is a good one for a Saturday as I intend to slow the pace a bit.

So far I have:
Got up, made a cup of tea, and pottered about on Mumsnet

I intend to:
Have a bath and read my book
Load the dishwasher and clean the worktops
Make some soup - maybe
Go to visit a friend for while
Hot spot the tent with dh (2 mins hopefully)
Hot spot the paperwork that was ditched for bedroom hot spotting yesterday
Room rescue the spare room with dh and dd's help
Not sure where 15 min declutter will be yet
Try really hard not to eat the chocolate left over from the tray bake
Snuggle up with dh and watch a dvd Grin

I hope everyone else has worked some relaxation into their schedule today.

Canistaysane · 27/08/2011 11:34

Have done 1 lot of washing up, now stopped for a rest.( knee is hurting a little)
At least I've managed something today.Smile
List for later,
To do :
More washing up
Try and do 15 mins tidy up in bedroom(it's a mess)
Sort some clothes for launderette
and go shopping.(Must not forget chocolates!)Grin
Hope to put my feet up later and enjoy them!

Carrotsandcelery · 27/08/2011 13:12

Afternoon everyone!

I have been very good and soaked in the bath with my book for ages.
In the end I made Heinz tomato soup
My paperwork turned into my 15 min declutter but at least I finally tackled it and wrote the cheques that went with it.
I have also done the dishwasher and worktops and hung a load of washing that I had forgotten I had put on last night.
I am not trying to summon it to rescue the spare room - the thing I am dreading is getting the others on board but I think they should help rather than assume I will do it so I will have to face it.
Oh and I have only nibbled a tiny bit of the chocolate so far.

Carrotsandcelery · 27/08/2011 13:32

I am about to celebrate with a cup of tea and some more chocolate.

THE TENT IS FINALLY IN ITS BAG!!!

The kitchen looks huge now.

Hurrah!

Just having a Brew. DH has now taken ds for his first bike ride. Ds only learned to ride last weekend so I do hope they will be o.k.. They have gone to somewhere where it is like a footpath/cycle path although they had to go via a few roads to get there.
Carrots glad you got the tent in the bag.
I am going to attempt more work in Kitchen as we have more washing up since lunchtime. Not sure if we will do food shopping today nowHmm
Or the Launderette.

Carrotsandcelery · 27/08/2011 14:35

But you will send dh out for your medicinal chocolate won't you Cani?Shock

OP posts:
Canistaysane · 27/08/2011 14:45

Yes, I will remind himWink
I better go and try to sort the kitchen again (work never seems to end in that room)

Canistaysane · 27/08/2011 18:32

Hello, just wondered if anyone else was MNetting at the mo. Thought I'd try and find conversation on here as dh has lost himself in the xbox playing football.
If I try to talk to him when he is doing something else I might aswell talk to the wall!Sad Do you all have this problem?
I Am thinking about settling down with box of chocolates later (have to get dc to bed first!) Shame I can't share them with you all.

Carrotsandcelery · 27/08/2011 18:34

Hi Cani I am around for a bit as dh is lost in Empire magazine and ds is in the bath. Dd is on a sleepover so I don't have solidarity of any sort tonight Shock

OP posts:
Carrotsandcelery · 27/08/2011 18:35

We don't have an xbox but ds and dh can both lose themselves in the Wii - but then so can I on mumsnet!

OP posts:
Canistaysane · 27/08/2011 18:42

Hi Carrots dd is watching peppa pig for a bit, will have to get her ready for bed soon. Ds is playing out on his bike. They got on well with their bike ride today.Smile

bessie26 · 27/08/2011 18:43

Well we came from the zoo with the same two monkeys we went with! It was our first family outing since we started potty training, but went well, apart from when DD1 refused to go outside in the pouring rain (to go to the building with the loos) so she had to wee in the potty in the corner of the gift shop!

Tonight I have to do my babysteps:

  • Shine sink
  • 2min hotspot (top of drawers in bedroom)
  • Another 2min hotspot (post pile)
  • Pick out clothes for DDs
  • 5 min room rescue (bedroom first)
  • 15 min declutter (bedroom first)

I also need to:

  • get swimming stuff together for me & DD1
  • sit down with DH & have a glass of wine & some chocolate
  • remember to do dreamfeed with DD2 again
shouldbeelswhere · 27/08/2011 18:43

Carrotsandcelery, please can I join your thread? I dipped in (viewed only) a while back and didn't really understand it all but now I've read some of the 1st page and had a look at fly website. I'm planning to start when school starts back on Tues 6th Sept.

Though I have being totally inspired and I have a sink full of bleach soaking for the hr as I write!

I'm hopeing I'll fit in as I have a tent heaped up (hanging out of box) in my dining room, and haven't done any shopping or anythingelse for that matter for ages - uh oh I think we're on the last loo roll!

GossipWitch · 27/08/2011 18:44

ooh if my boyf has his xbox on I generally go on coffee duty then tell him where the baddies are whilst dodging shoulder bumps, (major CoD fan) will be doing this mornings babysteps sfter ds2 is in bed due to the fact I rang my mum and was on the phone for an hour this morning (I really need to learn how to multitask).

Canistaysane · 27/08/2011 18:48

Hi everyone
I just have to change dd nappy so I might as well get her pyjamas on. Will be back soon.

Carrotsandcelery · 27/08/2011 18:55

shouldbeelsewhere it sounds like you will fit right in - welcome Smile

bessie glad you didn't lose anyone or come home with any extras.

Gossip if my mum or best friend phone we can easily be on the phone 2 hours Shock My best friend lives a long way from me now and we would have spent hours together when she was local so a couple of hours a week doesnt seem much really. I tend not to multi task either. I curl up and enjoy the relaxation.

I went to see another friend this afternoon for a coffee. I was feeling really jaded but that time out of the house and change of company has cheered me up enormously.
