what do you put down the plughole to get rid of hair blockage?

My dh gets stuff from B&Q - a bright yellow bottle of stuff - need to do this about twice a year and it clears it completely

If it's the shower, you can lift the wee plug cover thingy out if you kind of twist and pull

And then there's another thing under it that lifts out and is usually totally grotty and disgusting.

Immac. Buy a tube, squeeze it in. Leave for half an hour, rinse and voila - lovely hair-free plugholes

Sulphuric acid from any DIY store - whole bottle slowly - be extremely careful and wear protective gloves, goggles and ventilate well

Lots of salt and boiling hot water. Chemical soultions don't help apparently.

Please be very very careful with sulphuric acid. You could really hurt yourself. Check it won't dissolve your bath or plug as well before you use it.

a whole tube of cheap depilatory cream seriously, i read it in one of those money saving guides.

I have longish hair and so does DD. I tend to hoik it out after each shower so it dosent build up.

I have a dentists tool with a hook on each end that I use to pull all the muck out, I find it quite fascinating what comes out.

Just normal household salt. A plumber once told me it's the best thing for unblocking drains and to do it on a regular basis. I do this and haven't had any problems, thus far.

Kleeneze do a pair of giant tweezers that do the job! My nan had some i got when she passed away and ive never seen so much hair pulled out!

How do you do the salt and boiling water?

Trying not to sound really stupid here so I'll clarify. How much salt do you use and do you leave it for some time before pouring the boiling water on?

My bath is draining slowly, I can't pull any more hair out. And in my old house we had a leak from under the bath and I have always wondered if it was Mr Muscle unblocker that ate away the pipe as well as what was blocking the pipe, so interested in potentially non-pipe-eating solutions. But I'm now wondering if salt is also corrosive to the drainage pipes?
