Use a plunger.

Cheap hair removal cream, squeeze the whole tube down the plug hole, leave for an hour or so then rinse. If you have a shower head that has a strong jet setting aim that down the hole too for extra cleaning.

My bath was blocked earlier this year and the plumber that came out told me to never use Mr Muscle drain unblocker or anything similar as they make it worse and do end up eating away at the pipes. He said the best thing is a plunger, failing that salt and boiling water.

A plumbers snake is what you put down. It grabs the hair, you pull it out and throw the hair in the bin.

Shake some bicarbonate soda down the plug hole, then slowly pour distilled vinegar (the white stuff) down. The bicard will fizz up and then down the pipe. Don't go too heavy handed with the vinegar so it doesn't overflow too much.

Works wonders on tea spoons too, if you're a tea-aholic like me and have stains on the spoons even after washing!

Very cheap and works! Thank heaven I wasted my student days obsessed with Kim and Aggy! Grin
