water back on, don't know how long for so off to get dishes done

I think the most annoying thing is there is no information, I rang and they said website is most up to date way of getting info, our postcode is not even on itAngry

JustKeepSnowing · 01/01/2011 13:11

Plum - keep a note of all the things that go wrong, separate to water being off, then when things are normal again, send it off to the water board people, they are talking about having an inquiry into it all once sorted and will need lots of evidence.
In the meantime, grrrrrrrr.

I am seriously procrastinating about the toy sorting, even to the point of ironing 8 items/sorting coats out/etc. it's just a bombsite i can't face it.

I'm a bad bad woman and a slutty slattern of the highest order.
I need a kick to get going rather than checking MN every few seconds to see anything new has come up

So I will start with a small but doable listg

Sort and fold washing
put washing away 9these could take hours I have about 10 loads worth to do
put on load of washing
hang out washing
empty and
load dishwasher
wipe sides
put all toys in playroom
vacumm landing

there is loads more but I want it to be bearable and this will be pushing it anyway

Merryhohohomammoth · 01/01/2011 14:21

Happy New year everyone.
Hope the water situation is sorted soon. I always think it puts things in perspective when one of our essential services disappears, civilisation soon goes out the window, but I guess we are also given a chance to pull together. So fingers crossed.
I did not quite make it to midnight, but our new year has started with us hunting a weird smell noticed yesterday.
So we have had all the furniture out in the dining room, pulled out all the appliances in the kitchen, and eventually found the remains of decomposing bird behind cooker [yuk emoticon]. ( cat has been here on her own for 5 days). So cobwebs are cleared and floors beneath everything cleaned. Not bad for New Years Day.
I am now knackered.

Merryhohohomammoth · 01/01/2011 14:23

Bite size bits Norfolk bronze. Good Luck.

norfolkBRONZEturkey · 01/01/2011 14:24

Grrrrrrrr.....is no one in this house capable of being quiet? DS is a light sleeper, if you stomp and talk loudly he will wake up and be a grump - yes DH i am looking at YOU!

Unfortunately, this means i am currently pinned to the sofa by the grumpy milk monster which means that DH has to do the hoovering what is a girl to do? Wink Grin

Anyway, seeing as my NY resolution was to get more organised and declutter my life - mostly my house tbh - i thought i had better come on here. Just need to have a quick tidy round, and then get dinner on (between DH and i) as my dad and his gf are coming over.

So, Happy New Year, and will be hoping to post a list tomorrow Smile

Afternoon, hope everyone had a more exciting NYE than I did - nappy change at midnight Smile then sleep.

JKS you and my mum both! My mum says everyday that she doesn't know how I managed to carry her - my knees know and are still suffering though. LO not yet back up to birth weight but almost there. She's in 0-3 months clothes right now, but will be out of this size sleepsuits soon.

Today's list? Sleep, eat and care for LO.

PlumBumandBaublesMum · 01/01/2011 16:57

well so far water still on, not a great colour though Xmas Hmm

I have had a shower as have a feeling water will be off tomorrow

Anyway have decluttered the pony/hair bobble drawer

JKS you have my sympathies I did a major toy declutter before christmas, then sorted all new stuff yesterday

I think someone should take my temperature as I have a real need to have place decluttered and super clean and tidy, think it might have been the decorating the house finally feels like it is ours (except for hall) so trying to keep it tidy and it seems to be rubbing off on dcsXmas Hmm how long will it last??

Anyway sad newsSad my granny is in hospital, she is having episodes she knew it was New years Eve but said she couldn't get home because she couldn't get a taxi and missed my grandas party (hes been dead from before my mum even knew my dad)
she woke everyone up to tell them there was a dead body in her flat, so it has just got really bad but thankfully she has agreed to a brain scan on Tuesday, but is screaming the hospital down if anyone leaves herSad

AliBellandthe40jingles · 01/01/2011 17:13

Oh Plum :( My Grandma had episodes like that - once when we went to see her in hospital she got really cross because she thought I was my Mum, and that I had run off with DH. It was awful :( Hope she improves xx

Comtessa - that is a good list. Sleep whenever possible Grin

Alice - sympathies. DH is a stomper. He's a big bloke - 6ft and size 12 feet and blimey is he loud going up and down the stairs. DS will sleep through anything now, but it was a nightmare when he was little. Good call on the hoovering Grin

Mornin' all.
Wasting just to be clear about floors, in true slattern fashion, the clean bit only applies to the bit behind and under the cupboard Grin
Re Slug. I often find them in the kitchen, but also leaving trails on the windows upstairs !!
My attitude is thus: Slug in kitchen - Ah friendly scavengers hoovering up the detritus. Slug in garden - deadly enemy which must be banished at all costs.
Still can't get my head round a list though, will have to real back through the threa to find where I'm at.

awastingamanger · 02/01/2011 10:46

Floor under the cupboards clean is still quite impressive. Grin I know the slugs can't hurt me, but still - yeuch!

Wasting i think F is just very average in terms of sleep/behaviour etc. DD was awful and did not sleep at all for a week (due to not gtting any milk) but after we cracked the feeding issue was a dream baby, started sleeping 8hrs straight at 3wks, by 4 and a bit months (F's age now) was going to bed at about 9-10pm sleeping til 7am, having a good 2hrs sleep in the morning then napping snuggled up to me for another 2hrs in the afternoon. F Wakes up to feed through the night, has about 1/2hr nap in the morning and about 2hrs in the afternoon, but is shattered by 7pm and generally a bit grumpy Confused
