Rant alert here too! British Gas! Cancelled me yesterday, without telling me. Rebooked for today 10-2. Not convenient, but then jigged our day around one of us being here. Is that guaranteed I said? Oh yes madam, absolutely guaranteed. Are you SURE I said? Oh yes, no question at all.

Called me today. We are cancelling you. I went absolutely berserk. Just mental. Didn't know I had it in me, but my switch was well and truly flicked! DH and DC were decorating tree, and they just stopped and stared, mouths wide open. I was literally screaming down the phone at this poor woman.

Anyway, clearly it worked. Half an hour later, an engineer came. . Still not actually fixed though and I now have a THIRD different opinion as to the fault... As it happened, my landlord turned up at that exact moment, and he made it clear to the engineer that he was seriously unimpressed that they could not correctly identify the fault and repair....

I have lodged a formal complaint too. Unfortunately, they phoned whilst I was still talking to the engineer, so complaint has not progressed, but it will!! I am fired up for this one..

Anon - that's awful! We had 3 separate things wrong with out boiler system in the end; water in the pump ("never happens"), broken thermostat in the loft ("poss broken for years") & a broken valve ("rubbish quality" apparently).

So far...all seems well with it.

Went to a FANTASTIC party last night, oh boy, a real hum dinger (sp?). Stayed on the light pink sparkly stuff (deep joy, I love fizz!) and have escaped largely unscathed in the hangover department... thank god!

Now for a quiet afternoon, well as quiet as it can be, and then Roast chicken and an early night...
