Comtessa - I played the whole "I am having a baby, in fact I might have it right now" card on several occasions - to get the RAC out (came in less than 20 minutes on my due date), to get work to sort out maternity pay cock up FAST (and it did) are two examples that spring straight to mind... Oh use and abuse I say Wink.

Mini - my dad once served my DH a can of beer - tasted and looked a bit odd. Then discovered it was five (yes, FIVE) years over its date..... Mind you, if stuff is in a tin or dried or whatever, frankly, it's been that way for years sometimes, so what harm does another year or two do? I still have a packet of dried ceps I bought in Italy and I went there before getting pg, so that is at least 7 years ago, maybe 8 or 9.....

Well done on the office BTW!

My project today is the pots and pans cupboard which is a serious area of Doom... Chuck, pack, keep for the move is the name of the game today..

AliceandtheGinormousBaps · 04/11/2010 09:47

Morning Smile

Comtessa i had a garage mess me about while pg in the summer. I was 31wks, was supposed to be taking it very easy after being in hospital in premature labour, i did get hormonal ranty with the bloke. Felt better for it though... Grin

F didn't sleep as well last night, and then both kids awake at 6am, so i got up about 6.15. Now feels like i have been up for hours. FIL came for breakfast Confused i do like him and do get on with him, but he does nag at DD the whole time - Have you asked if you can get down from the table? What is yor full name? How old are you going to be on your birthday? etc. What annoys me is that DD is very bright, but he seems to forget that she is not quite 3 yet, and the questions he asks her/things he expects of her many of the 4yr olds i know struggle with iyswim? little grrrr

Feel a little bit proud of myself for fiuring out how the mini hoover works, taking it apart to empty, then fixing the knob that holds it together Grin

AliceandtheGinormousBaps · 04/11/2010 09:55

Hello goingroundthebend

goingroundthebend4 · 04/11/2010 09:56

how does it work i need soem help keeping on top of things with house seems never endering and do feel better when its tidy even if only till dc get home

anonymousbird · 04/11/2010 10:14

Hello GRTB. I've never been to the fly thread, is it quite full on and scary over there?!?!?!? I'm too scared even to look! It's so nice and cosy and safe here with the Slatterns....

Here it is whatever you want it to be. Most people just have some kind of list (any kind of list) of stuff they want to get done, whether today, tomorrow, or whenever. Anything, however big or small, no judging round here if the same item stays on your list all year!!!!

Maybe think about the things you do every day, even "get up" is on my list because I can then put DONE next to it...

Good luck, and do stick around, I've not been here that long but have found this all helps me massively, you get good ideas and lots of support!!!

Smile
AliceandtheGinormousBaps · 04/11/2010 10:25

Basically, you just write a list, it can be a basic daily list to help you get into a routine eg; get up, get dressed, make breakast, put washload on etc or a list of jobs/things you want to achieve that day or week. Then we help encourage each other, that is it really Smile

I have just sorted out our bedroom bookcase and dusted our bedside table. Having a break as F awake and grumpy. Going to takle the dumping ground that is the mantle piece next

AliceandtheGinormousBaps · 04/11/2010 10:27

please excuse atrocious spelling, feeding F and my laptop likes you to really hammer the keys

Justkeep I don't suppost you live anywhere near Oakham do you? I used to work for the NHS in Leicester and I recall that there was a dentist there, or perhaps Melton Mowbray, who specialised in hypnotherapy pre-dentistry for particularly nervous/phobic patients. Good luck.
