Ali - could be. boiler man coming back tomorrow, again
It seems that the boiler is not recognising when the heating has reached the requested temp (from thermostat) so just keeps heating up the house.
eg, was set on 15 but when i turned it, it only clicked at 24.
Man gave me instructions to reset the system over the phone and it seems to have stopped the heating for now. am about to try out the hot water with a shower - really need it! (sorry if i'm a bit whiffy!)

Snow here. I'm somewhere between and - the kid in me loves the snow but the grown up hates it, especially now we live in the country at the top of a hill. DCs made it in to school but it is snowing heavier now so there is a risk that it could be closed later.

Morning. We have not encountered the Octonaughts (well, DC might have, but not mentioned to me) but they love KerWhizz, favourite game on the CBeebies website. Though now DS has reached the giddy heights of 6yo, he is, he says, too old for CBeebies and wants to do all the cool stuff on CBBC.....

Anyway, we have snow, not loads. Round trip to school took well over an hour today.. And got to do it all again later! We normally swim late on a Tuesday, but I think today will just get them home and stay put. Bad enough dealing with roads in the light, really don't fancy it in the dark.

I have a great view from here of my very silly dog playing in the snow. Quite funny! Suspect soon though she will be shivering and sitting at the back door wanting to come back in...

Hello all, another night of strong contractions last night, was hooked up to TENS the whole time to get through it, but no LO yet and contractions have faded to almost nothing.
Well, on the plus side, we really need to get some proper curtains up in our room, so that's today's main task.

We use it for calling the US relatives - I think we pay 7GBP a month for unlimited worldwide landline calls. Also good for calling mobiles as well as you can see how much it's costing while you talk, and can just top up Skype credit as and when you need it. The other thing I find it's great for is if I ever have to call an 0845 number or similar, again, keeping track of the cost of the call and it's way cheaper than calling from landline or mobile. Skype promo over - I don't work for them, I promise!

Wasting - glad you got Skype sorted. Where is DH? Working away I seem to recall (sorry, having been off line for a while, I am a bit out of touch!).

We use Skype sometimes - if we get a good connection it's great, but sometimes our end I think is a bit slow on the old gega/mega bits and wotsits so it can be a big blur! But so fun to see faces and chat.

Comtessa - say you said you pay for your Skype, do you get something on top of the normal Skype then? as we don't pay anything and get free video calls (or normal non-video calls). Agree though sometimes the reception is a bit ropey.

Have decided i must do something with my evening so have sorted the boys washing & put one load on with the next waiting by the machine (normally Nanny does the boys washing but she couldn't make it today and i think is unlikely to get here this week).
