So have got a coffee and am now going to make a list

purplearmadillo · 25/11/2010 09:37

Its very chilly here this morning and I am feeling unmotivated. Today is the day I am supposed to have for myself rather than for chores but I still have stuff to do and all I really want to do is curl up under a blanket on the sofa! DH is sick and very mopey too, not sure if its because he's sick or because the cricket went badly last night...

So today's list is...

check emails done
take DS's packed lunch to nursery
go to the gym - this is the thing I really cannot be bothered with

put away washing
wrap up some christmas presents
packing list for weekend/DS's hospital stay
speak to mum about weekend
wrap present for children's party at weekend
ring doctor to check appointment time for Friday
speak to chemist about DS's repeat presecription

CHRISTMAS
Wrap presents STARTED
Christmas card list
Finish list of presents
Order last presents on line
Meal plan for entertaining between Xmas and New Year DONE
Shopping list for entertaining
Decide which presents to give DS and which to save for birthday

Wow, think that's enough to be getting on with on a cold day. Hope everyone else does well this morning, I'll check in later, I'm off to the gym now Hmm

AliceandtheGinormousBaps · 25/11/2010 10:56

Just clicked who you are!

BaroqinAroundTheChristmasTree · 25/11/2010 10:59

yes a brief one Grin

CBA arguing with her - and yes I'm me - I've name changed for Christmas Smile

Haven't done ANYTHING on my list yet Blush

AliceandtheGinormousBaps · 25/11/2010 11:02

I am weighed down by a sleeping baby so i can't do anything, ad i can't put him down - oh no Wink

I find that the pets section winds me up more than any other on here, so stick with the tack room, but give the others a wide berth.

BaroqinAroundTheChristmasTree · 25/11/2010 11:05

I have no excuse at all! I've been child free since 9 when I got back from dropping DS3 at nursery.......and it's nearly time to go and pick him up again......although that will be oe thing to cross off my list Grin

AliceandtheGinormousBaps · 25/11/2010 11:11

Just seen the thread - hi-fuckin-larious! Like a dog with a bone that one Grin

comtessa · 25/11/2010 11:12

Morning all, feeling your need to hibernate Purple. Very bad night's sleep last night - partly influenced by the cricket as DH was listening to it then came to bed v. late. Followed by the usual hourly trips to the bathroom.
Is it wrong of me to really want the baby to come today as we're meant to be going to dinner tonight with people I really don't want to spend time with right now? The kind of people where the husband (much older) calls me "mummy' despite requests to the contrary - eurgh. And they say "oh we say your stomach coming round the corner five minutes before we saw you." (Comtessa has sense of humour breakdown Angry )

Thursday
Up, shower, dress done
Hoover downstairs
Birthday gift for W
Final pie-making extravaganza for Saturday afternoon
Clear bedroom
Dismantle clothes rail and take up to spare room
More baby clothes washing (3 - 6 months range, just to be on the safe side)
Parcel up maternity clothes to send to N
Parcel up baby clothes to send to N, A and F (LO not even here yet but have been given so many second-hand ones as well as new ones)

BaroqinAroundTheChristmasTree · 25/11/2010 11:13

Clean loo & sink

clean inside windows/mirrors
make cheese on toast

might do at some point...
hoover upstairs

Think I need to clean my oven soon, it doesn't look bad but the smoke alarm is going off everytime I use it or the grill

FreakoidOrganisoid · 25/11/2010 11:33

I don't think I have ever been in pets section...is it worth a look or best to steer clear?

FreakoidOrganisoid · 25/11/2010 11:34

Comtessa I think you are more than entitled to "not feel up to going" at this stage, they sound very annoying!

comtessa · 25/11/2010 11:43

Thanks Freaki. I may feel a few bad BH/contractions coming on around 6.30pm tonight Grin

I think I stumbled across pets section once, and got totally flamed for saying something about people being more important than animals. Much as I loved my old dog and the horses I rode growing up. Have avoided since!

JustKeepSparkling · 25/11/2010 11:45

Right have now read through your man list additions properly, a couple definitely stand out as wants.

Supportive, especially emotionally. Was never allowed to be worried or upset about anything with h because he'd get angry with me so yes that would be nice.

Not taking himself too seriously, yep, got to be able to laugh with someone.

Caring & loving, yes

Willing to compromise, yes and at least willing to discuss things rather than stonewalling.

So basically all of your suggestions Grin

Oh and also (something I have had a glimpse of with wc) someone who works as a team with me so I don't feel I am juggling everything on my own. Nothing major but just things like putting the kettle on and making the tea while I'm doing the sandwiches or keeping ds occupied while I cook dinner, checking the back door is locked while I get my stuff together to go out. Little things like that that make a big difference as to how stressed I get!

and a nice willy too please

WastingAway · 25/11/2010 11:55

Hello, hello!

Ali, hopefully you'll get lots of lovely cream knitted baby stuff then. Boys can wear matinee coats, so there's not much in the way of layette that she can't knit for a neutral baby.

Comtessa, 10lb 5oz. Shock You'll be fine. Smile

Alice, rub some teething gel on before feeding, it works on your nipple then too. Grin

I have already -

  • got up done
  • breakfast done
  • dressed done
  • music class done
  • laundry - fold dry done load in done

Next, I shall -

  • lunch
  • laundry carnival - the airers are bare, let the washing piles beware!
  • get cracking with the cd copying again. (needs to be done
  • DS to have a crafty afternoon!
