anoknockingmyhousedown · 18/11/2010 07:39

Morning.

Wasting - intrigued by DS being sticky, was there a food fight?!?!? Hope you had a nice time.

DH had to sort of apologise (we are still not quite sure what for, but he had his fingers crossed!) but he didn't grovel like she insisted, he just said "Sorry I got cross mum, but I WAS cross". So relations are repaired, though, I will be playing it rather cool in the coming days for sure...

OK, in 24 hours, we move the rest of our stuff, so here goes:

Today

  • Up, showered and dressed me and DC?s
  • DC to school
  • General tidy, make beds etc
  • Go through Life Insurance documents
  • Run and empty DW after breakfast
  • Empty dehumidifer
  • One wash load
  • Absolutely any packing whatsoever into bags/boxes etc. going well, but loads more to do!
---- bring the last things downstairs ---- kitchen cupboards half done ---- playroom (sorry kids!) half done
  • On line banking - bills to pay
  • Chickens DONE
  • Dog
  • Reading and play lines with DC
  • Call insurance broker DONE, at last, hopefully

Tomorrow

  • DS to school
  • Pick up van
  • Move house!

Next few days

  • Children in need day - something spotty for school
  • DD's innkeeper costume - needed for Monday
  • Christmas shoebox appeal - needed for Monday
  • Clean DH's car
  • Flights for next year?s holiday
  • Find Maths worksheets for DS and phonics for DD
  • Check photo printing
  • Organise some more tea dates for DC
  • Start Recipe diary/log
  • set up energy monitoring meter at new house
  • Sort out DD?s scooter
  • Fix up lunch at school
JustKeepSparkling · 18/11/2010 07:55

I lift share the mornings with my neighbour... Tis marvellous (though sometimes four 5/6 year olds in the car can be "interesting"!). It was supposed to be my turn today, but she has to be at school anyway, so said she kindly would take my two!! Bonus.

Get that restaurant booked JKS.......

JustKeepSparkling · 18/11/2010 08:30

Hmm i need a change of neighbour! actually the other half of the semi is sold and the single older lady is meant to be moving out this month, the family moving in supposedly only has a baby. hey ho.

Anon I too was intrigued by wastings sticky dsGrin

Baroque glad your friends ds is ok, does he walk to school with your boys?

I am getting stuck back into ironing today, I have promised dd2 she can have a friend over tomorrow so need to make house presentable incase her friends mum comes too,

BUT I finally ordered curtains for my lounge and I love love love them, they arrived the other day, I don't normally like ordering things like curtains from catalogue but turns out they are very good quality and the only ones I kept going back too, so ordered tham with intentions of sending back if they were crapGrin

BaroqueAroundTheClock · 18/11/2010 10:08

Plum - no he does't walk with my boys - he walks with 2 of his friends, and they decided to take a detour to the shop - and then cross the busy main road further up from the (proper) crossing. Misjudged speed of the car (not speeding - just normal speed) and he got hit.

Thankfully nothing worse than badly bruised back and legs - but very scary until everyone knew whether he was ok or not.

purplearmadillo · 18/11/2010 10:10

anoknockingmyhousedown · 18/11/2010 11:38

Comtessa - what are you going to watch? Does it have a hot male star? If so, make sure you have a mobile signal at the cinema just in case!?! Curry tonight, ball, raspberry tea, if baby doesn't come after all that lot, well, it's a stubborn little thing hey?!

When is your DD?

comtessa · 18/11/2010 11:46

DD not until 27th November but MW thinks I won't get there. And LO is already likely to be around 9lbs.

Not a whole lot on so think I will go see Another Year (new Mike Leigh film). Failing that will try and find Love Actually or similar on TV.

Right, curry tonight. Keeping on with the raspberry leaf (finished capsules, but still have tea).

Thanks. Will keep you all posted. x

PlumBumMum · 18/11/2010 12:36

Comtessa TMI ALERT its not just the hormone in the sperm,I think the orgasm too has an effect of stinulating cantractions so I'm sure there are other ways your dh caould help without going near a tender cervix Wink

WARNING: If anyone googles and finds evidence to the contary I DO NOT WANT to know, thats my story and I'm sticking to it if needs be ever againGrin

Comtessa I am relatively calm, its dh who is furious, I think I might write it all down and let him read it and see if we can move from there, as dh is worried that if it isn't discussed it will all rear its ugly head again and be 10 times worse,
at the min dd2 dosen't know she has a granda and the other 2 know the situation and dd1 dosen't miss him, ds did but dosen't remember anymore, so its just not me I have to take into account

And I was right dd2s friends mum will come along tomorrow as the friend is abit shy, so list has now changed to

GET HOUSE SORTED!

PlumBumMum · 18/11/2010 12:37

sorry my spelling is awful there, trying to type too quick

comtessa · 18/11/2010 12:48

AHA! Thanks Plum! Grin

comtessa · 18/11/2010 12:51

Good idea to write a letter/write things down. Can be much better/easier than just trying to tell someone. Especially someone who doesn't want to listen. I think it can also be the age and the time they were brought up in too. My dad is lovely but try and talk to him about his difficult relationship with his mother and he just clams up and will not talk - least said soonest mended kind of attitude.
Hope the writing helps.

JustKeepSparkling · 18/11/2010 13:28

Plum - i hope it helps too, and you are right to remember that it affects your DC too, so well done :)

anoknockingmyhousedown · 18/11/2010 13:43

Plum - writing it down can be a great help; clarifies your thoughts as the writer, as well as giving the reader a chance to read, think, digest, re-read if necessary.

I actually often type things that trouble me, as you can "edit" which I know sounds crazy, especially as often I am not intending anyone else to read it. But it just makes me think about the relevant points, maybe put things in an order of priority or whatever. I start with typing, spill it out as it comes, then sit back, think, adjust and consolidate what I am saying.

Good luck with it, you are being amazing, BTW.
